The self-catering holiday cottages at Benar sit quietly on a beautiful hillside, a short walk from the village of Penmachno and just three miles from Betws-y-Coed in Eryri National Park
We are a retired couple who like walking & birdwatching. We have stayed at Benar Cottages several times and always had a relaxing time. The cottages are fitted out to the highest degree. The location is off road reached by a farm track across a sheep field with an access gate onto the main road. This is a small price to pay to obtain the quiet location. The hosts will take care of anything you need as they live in the farmhouse close by.
The cottage itself is fantastic - full of character yet spotlessly clean - but what makes Benar Bach truly special is the combination of seclusion and warmth. Hosts Daniel and Paul are superb: genuinely helpful without ever being intrusive.
Although the cottage is attached to the main building, the walls are so thick that the moment you step through the door you enter your own little world. The lovely private garden, with its babbling brook and resident wildlife, is the perfect place to unwind in the evening (glass in hand) after a walk in the Eryri mountains or a trip to the coast.

We had a very warm welcome from Daniel and Paul . The cottage was tidy and spotless with fantastic views from the private terrace. Also being Dog Free suited our priorities perfectly! A nice touch was the welcome pack. Ps check out the cutlery draw!
