We recently stayed at Big Oak Barn for a family gathering and were blown away by this stunning property. The design of the place is unique to anywhere I've stayed previously. It can sleep up to 18 people with some of the bedrooms having cool annexes for single beds/children. We all had a wonderful time enjoying all the facilities, the particular highlights being the HUGE hot tub and Arctic Cabin. Everything about our stay was just perfect. Hosts were great and excellent with communication even before arrival to the day we left. Would definitely stay here again!
Stayed in ‘the yurt’ for 2 nights in February and had a fantastic break. Yurt and shower room were spotless and hosts could not be friendlier. Although it was cold outside the yurt, the wood burner made it warm and cosy inside and the hot tub under the stars was a delight. A 5 minute walk to the pub and Chinese takeaway was a bonus, but recommend booking in advance if you want to eat in the pub as very popular especially at weekends. Will be going back for sure.
From start to finish our weekend was perfect. We were warmly welcomed and settled into our idyllic accommodation and our stay couldn’t have been more perfect. The location is sublime and the Hut was brilliantly well-appointed with everything we could possibly need. We won’t hesitate to recommend this gem to anyone who will listen!
Lovely lodge, so peaceful. Everything you need was provided, Tesco express not far away to pick up and bits. Beach less than 10 mins away. Sharon's was great, chatty and informative. If I have to pick any negatives, I'd say please provide a fan. Window can't be opened at night as it's a bit whiffy from the farm yard. And just as a personal thing, I'd prefer all windows/doors to have a blind/curtain. But we loved it.
Ideal place to celebrate. 13 of us stayed here for 3 nights for a family celebration. Artic Cabin/sauna/hot tub & pool table were a hit. Plenty of room for everyone, lovely large fridge + an extra fridge/freezer & numerous wine coolers! Could have done with a larger BBQ - took a while to cook for 13. Also another hairdryer would have been good. Didn’t find it til the last day! We were looking forward to table tennis tournaments but apparently the table had been broken previously. Apart from that the Big Old Dairy is an excellent place to stay.
We have really enjoyed our stay and found the cottage very welcoming for 2 adults and our dog. Plenty of room, great facilities, easy to find, easy car parking, good local facilities although didn't get to try the chinese takeaway as they had taken a holiday. Great host who came to welcome us and we met the owner too who greeted us on arrival.
