Stayed in the villa for a week with our family of 10. For starters, Laura with Invitation for Tuscany was extraordinary helpful responding to numerous questions before and after booking the villa. Marco, the owner, is very accommodating and has done a very tasteful job of converting what was once a barn into a lovely villa. Some of the bedrooms convert to single beds which made the grandkids very happy that they did not have to share. We had a restful week in Arcata, a lovely one bedroom apartment within a beautifully restored farmhouse. We were lucky to have the pool to ourselves as there were no other guests. The owner Ann-Marie was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable of the area and we enjoyed her company. You'd need a car to fully explore the area and enjoy the many delightful hilltop villages within a short drive. A lovely appartment in a delightful setting with views across the valley to the delightful hill town of Citta della Pieve. Charming family - very helpful. Villa dei Fiori not only lived up to our expectations from the photos on the website, it exceeded those expectations. The house itself was fantastic - very comfortable bedrooms, the bathrooms were high quality, the kitchen had everything we needed and the lounge area was very comfortable and relaxing. Outside, there were a couple of attractive eating areas, and several places to sit and relax. Mandorlo was part of our dream vacation to Chianti! It’s a picturesque property within walking distance to a quaint town with sweeping views of vineyards and a valley The villa is well maintained and appointed; comfortable and clean. It was perfect for my husband and I. The family who owns and operates the villa adds to the richness of our visit as they are friendly and make you feel at home. I hope to return someday!

Anne Marie was an excellent host who was there when we needed her, provided extensive local knowledge on places to visit and restaurants and could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The property was very well located for visiting Florence, Siena, Arezzo and many other small and beautiful local towns and villages. The facilities were excellent, well thought through and with a lovely pool to cool off in. Would very much recommend this to others and am sure we may be back in the future.

The house was super and beautiful views from almost every window. It is very peaceful. Claudio is a wonderful host. The pool is very inviting. The hill was a little too much for my husband to walk up, and we had to be careful with the hire car as the lane is very narrow, but in no way did that distract from the wonderful stay at Alloro.
Absolutely loved this place. From the peace and tranquility to the fabulous Tuscan dinner and pizza evenings - a truly special place. Sienna only a 20 min ride away too.
Villa Dioneo was perfect for our large family group. The pool has the most stunning views across the Tuscan hills. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking at home and we had dinner out in 3 different restaurants, which were kindly booked for us ahead of our stay. Laura at Invitation to Tuscany was very helpful with any questions before we went and Elena was also very helpful once there. I would highly recommend both the agency and the villa. I don’t even know what to say. This apartment in Florence was perfect for us as a couple. Clean, quiet, convenient to most of the main things you want to see in Florence…it has it all. Communication was very easy and Susan was so helpful when we got stranded due to a taxi strike in the city. Highly recommend Via Della Colonna!!
We loved everything about our stay at Pipistrelli! The home was gorgeous and comfortable, with plenty of space, including large common areas - outdoors and indoors, as well as generous private bedrooms, each with a full bath. It was secluded but also close to the 'village' in Montestigliano, as well as the nearby nature preserve and sightseeing in Siena. Breakfast each morning in the villa was a treat, and set us up well for the day. Something for everyone. Absolutely dreamy!!!
Another lovely stay at Casa Allioni, such peace and tranquility in a beautiful rural setting with stunning views but within walking distance of good restaurants and within easy drive of the attractions of Florence, Siena and Arezzo. Beverly is a great host, so helpful and knowledgeable of the area, always willing to assist with restaurants bookings etc. A great place to relax and enjoy all Tuscany has to offer.
We stayed for one week during August and we had a wonderful time. We were so lucky to have the whole property to ourselves and made the most of days relaxing by the pool alternating with trips out to some of the beautiful nearby towns including Arezzo which is stunning. Ann Marie is really helpful and made lots of excellent recommendations and restaurant bookings which we really enjoyed. The property was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking when we decided to eat in. We found the property perfect for a relaxing stay with lots to explore nearby.
We had a wonderful stay at San Michele. The villa is a magnificent, spacious building steeped in history and in a private location on top of a hill. Beds and linen were excellent, together with bathroom facilities. The pool was stunning - best we have ever experienced in a villa (and we have stayed at a lot!). This is our third year staying at this beautiful house. The facilities are excellent. It is in a lovely position in the village. Just a few steps to all the amenities but quiet and peaceful in the evening. The house is a good size, the rooms are spacious and it is well appointed with everything you need if you want to eat in. Close to restaurants if you don’t! The terrace is beautiful, sunny until mid afternoon with lovely views over the countryside. A perfect base for visiting the area.
A very lovely house and garden- my personal favourite so far after many years visiting Umbria and Tuscany. Travel books etc now out of date but most people will bring their own maps, guidebooks etc. Also it would be useful to update the informationm on local trattorias/gelaterias, etc- with accurate closing days/times - e.g., the nice piazzeria/gelateria/trattoria in Civitella was closed several days in the week but we had to work this out by trial and error. Some personal recommendations on 'basic' and more 'sophisicated' places to eat would be helpful!
The villa was ideally located for exploring Umbria and Tuscany. The villa was comfortable and spacious inside with lots of different areas to sit outside and a lovely pool. The large terrace had stunning views to Lake Trasimeno and to watch the glorious sunsets. Parking was easy and secure. Our hosts, Barry and Karen were welcoming, thoughtful and generous.
We had an amazing week at Villa Fobbia. The Villa is in the hills and you should expect a bit of narrow, steep windy roads to get there. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the Owners who showed us around their great home. The views are amazing. The villa was clean, in great condition, well stocked, secure, and had ample space for our crew of 8 (including two young teens). The villa and location were everything we wanted them to be. Radicondoli is a beautiful place, full of character and charm and the villa is ideally placed to enjoy the local sights, shops and restaurants. Claudio was so helpful and we loved his generous gifts of wine, olive oil and tomatoes. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.
With 14 people staying at this property ( taking all 8 double rooms) we have had a fabulous time with plenty of room for all. Extremely relaxing and convenient location ( our second time renting this property). We had a dinner party for 16 people which worked so well in the huge dining room. We have enjoyed wonderful breakfasts prepared by extremely hard working , cheerful ladies who also cleaned the rooms on a daily basis. We certainly have no complaints about anything . We want to express our appreciation to the fantastic staff at Lornano, Malvasia. They were very anxious to meet any of our requests and answered questions providing us with locations of restaurants and groceries. The location is quite central to many of the hill towns in Tuscany and close proximity to the highway. We certainly enjoyed tasting the wines!
A lovely spot on a tuscan hillside with beautiful views across the valley, surrounded by olive groves. Perfect retreat for writing your novel, or unwinding in tranquility. A car is essential, as local sleepy village Pian di Sco is a good walk, and that is where you will find the nearest local shops and restaurants. Better shops and more restaurants were 20 minutes away at Figline Valdarno, from where you can also take the train to Florence or Arezzo, saving angst about parking in unfamiliar cities. We had a very good stay in Pinolo. The location was perfect, we could walk into the beautiful village of Casole d'Elsa. There was a community supermarket very close opposite the petrol station which had everything you could want. 2 butchers in the village. Great restaurants and bar. We particularly like the little balcony where we ate supper, very private. We thought it was a great base to explore all the places of interest, Bolterra, San Gimignano and Siena by bus from Colle di Val D'Elsa was so easy. My wife and I stayed here 17 years ago and loved it. We have now returned with our son and daughter in law and it is just as wonderful as it was then. The pool and its vineyard location are stunning and the welcome from Katia and the family made us feel at home and relaxed. Casole d'Elsa is a beautiful Tuscan village. There are a few more bars, restaurants and shops than there were 17 years ago which have added to its attractiveness without spoiling its character. We had the perfect family vacation at this beautiful and spacious Italian home. The house is aesthetically pleasing and surrounded by stunning nature, offering a private and serene location. Casena moresca is truly a little piece of heaven on earth. The view is breath taking and the cottage is charming and comfortable. The beds are comfortable and all the basic necessities were taken care of. Gina and Tony even left a few other extra goodies for us. They are a lovely couple and made us feel at home. The road is a bit terrifying at first but we got used to it quickly and it added to the adventure!
We were an extended family of 8 staying in Docciole. Anna the owner was very accommodating and helpful, and always available to answer questions, but kept a very low profile during our stay. We were also allowed a late check out to fit in with our return flight which was much appreciated. The traditional Tuscan villa was lovely, set on the hill side, surrounded by trees and vineyards and wonderfully quiet. We recently spent 1 week in the Treggiaia Villa, what a wonderful week we had, very centralised to explore Tuscany, most major towns were only 1hr by car away. The villa was presented beautifully and the owners made our stay memorable. Although a little bit out of the way, peace and quiet was what we were after. Regards Paul.
We stayed in this large apartment for a week from 14 September and had a very lovely time there. The area is very quiet, the scenery around is flatter than the Tuscan hills to the west and south but nonetheless beautiful, and the town of Ambra is a 20 minute walk away, with a fabulous restaurant. The owners live below you and keep themselves to themselves as they speak limited English. This makes it a very relaxing and private break. The beds are comfy, and the space inside is plentiful. Had a great week in this very grand villa set on hillside. Good location and views. House full of antiques with great ambiance. Pool is private to the rear, well used, although very cold as not heated. Caretaker and housekeeper live on top floor but keep themselves private and don’t speak English. This is a beautiful house in a stunning location. We were met by the lovely Paula and her husband in Sarteano and they showed us to the property and were very helpful. This is a really great place for a family holiday with plenty of space to relax. Great pool with views you will not tire of seeing, of Tuscan scenery and the Val D'Orcia. Good sized bedrooms, and smart ensuite bathrooms. Kitchen is well equipped, and really the house could not be better. My family (husband and two children aged 13 and 10) and I returned today from a week’s stay at Villa di Mezzo. We all feel completely deflated at having had to leave - we had an absolutely wonderful time. The villa itself is so dreamy, a lovely farmhouse with a comfortable and stylish interior. A quiet and remote location, this was a lovely villa to explore the surrounding countryside from. Room sizes were good, kitchen and bathroom are compact but fine. We had a very warm welcome from Rita who was very helpful . We have stayed in other villas where the local taxes and cleaning are included in the price whereas we had to leave 70 euros for this. I think it helps to have everything in the price. It didn't take away from our enjoying our stay.
The villa is in a great location with stunning views over the Tuscan countryside. The sense of history when you arrive and enter the villa is palpable. Villa d’Orcia is an elegant older house overlooking Val d’Orcia. It offers good bedding, a well equipped kitchen, functional bathrooms, a variety of herbs, Gelasio who oversees the house during the owner’s absence, two dogs and two cats who will make you feel right at home! Oh, and a stunning, private swimming pool. It would be good to develop more shaded areas with good garden furniture. The dirt and gravel road needs work. All in all, very delightful!

The property was exactly what is advertised. It provided six excellently appointed bedrooms and comfortable bathrooms. The dining options inside and outside provided a setting for memorable lunches and dinners with stupendous views. The kitchen was adequately equipped to provided us with an assortment of meals that extended long past sunset. The pool and grounds were immaculately maintained. This house is so beautiful and serene, surrounded by trees and the sound of cicadas and with a lovely view of rolling Umbrian hills. With thick stone walls it remains fairly cool irrespective of the surrounding temperature, and there is a good air flow through the house once doors and windows are open. The large pool is fabulous and warms nicely in the sun, but has the benefit of being increasingly shaded as the afternoon wears on. We stayed a week at Casa Carina in early October, and had a wonderful time. The villa itself is spacious and charming (save the disconcerting ceramic mask on the wall), and its best feature is the covered veranda with a beautiful view across the valley to the nearby villages of Colelungo and Morre. I thoroughly recommend relaxing there as the sun sets, sipping wine and listening to the local wildlife (we heard cicadas, crickets, owls, other birds of prey, and wild boar) and watching the bats chase down the insects. We stayed a week at Rapoli Sopra. We loved its location, peace and quiet. We enjoyed recommendations for dinner venues and attended their own Pizza night which was a fabulous evening out. We were treated like we were the first guests of the season and nothing was too much trouble. It’s a truly authentic experience to stay in a Villa in the midst of a hamlet on a hill in the middle of olive groves.

We had a very nice stay at pietrina. We were two families (4 children and 4 adults) and there were planty of room inside but the absolute most valued was the outside. The house is placed with a beautiful view and the terrasse and pool was very nice. The small city near by has all that is needed including very nice pizzas :) and Arezzo is Only 30 min drive away. We recommend others this place and if going to Toscana again we would try this house again.
A welcome pack would be nice it doesn’t have to be much but some biscuits or a cake would be nice. Could do with some homely touches, such as flowers/plants, rugs on the floors colourful pictures on the walls or some nice Tuscan tiles just to brighten the place up a bit. There was a CD player but no CD’s this could perhaps be updated with a speaker to allow you to Bluetooth your phone to for some background music. Staying in Paulo felt like a real adventure. The drive from the airport was far enough to make you feel you were really going into the depths of Umbria but not so far that you got over-tired or frustrated. Arriving in Paciano itself and then being lead to the farmhouse (in car convoy) by our lovely host we really felt that we were in a rural idyll ... and turns out were were!. This is a nice villa. It's not in a particularly nice or interesting area, but if you have a car this does not really matter, there are restaurants and a supermarket within a short drive. However, it is quite expensive, and to make this worse the extra costs really mount up on top of the basic costs. For example, using the sauna costs extra money every time. Worse, there is an extra charge if you go over a certain electricity limit. We were told that this was unlikely to be an issue, and there were only 6 of us staying in a villa that can accommodate 12 people, and we did not use many app...more
Our family stayed for a week in June. We particularly liked the large well equipped kitchen and its proximity to the dining table outside. Good range of seating options. Great garden and walks out of the house into woods and vineyards. Ask about extra charges when you book as it’s quite complicated. We asked for a selection of wines from the estate and that worked really well. We like simple rustic Tuscan rural homes with plenty of space around and Dimora certainly met the brief.
The setting is beautiful, very picturesque. We stayed in Villa Massimo, clean and well appointed, there were four of us, myself my wife and our two boys; two in each bedroom, the boys beds were to be made up as singles but were set up as a double; this worked in our favour as we took the room without en-suite as the views were fantastic from the back bedroom. So it transpired that we stayed at Leccio some 18 years ago as guests of some friends who had booked it. We only realised when we got there! The house structurally is amazing, but hasn't been invested in since we were last there 18 years ago. The pool area is unexceptional. It was also unfilled when we arrived (maybe 6-9inches too low) which they solved by putting in a cold water hose into the pool, which made the pool too cold to use for the first 3-4 days - not great. This is a family's once lovely and once grand country house. It is built like a castle of the finest materials. Thats where the good bits end. Unfortunately the house has been allowed to fall into disrepair and is quite dirty. It is also about an hour's drive on some hard roads from most major attractions.(Siena, Florence, Arezzo) There is a nearby train in Montevarchi with good connections. There are four large bedrooms three with en suite bath. All the fixtures are quite tired and the tiling is dated. Most distressingly some of the sinks don't drain.
