I booked this as a surprise trip for my wife’s 30th birthday and baby moon. She requested as quiet getaway before the baby arrives. The views was spectacular and the owners left a very detailed folder of rules and they introduced themselves in the folder and gave several scenic routes like Tenby. And they also left leaflets on what you can do on the stay. Over all I will be going back. The wife loved her surprise and her experience of wales. Thank you for having us
The most lovely remote place for a stay! Had such a great 2 nights.. will definitely recommend this to all my family! The owners dad was so nice! He popped over at the beginning of our stay and gave us attraction recommendations (which were great). 10/10.

This place ticked all the boxes, wonderful comfortable living area/kitchen with everything we needed. Bedrooms really comfy too. The outside area with the hot tub is amazing with the most relaxing of views.
Definitely recommend this property to all,it was clean and had all the facilities you would need for a short break, washing machine, dryer,dish washer and very good wifi. We all throughly enjoyed our stay and are booking again for Christmas. The hosts were excellent and looked after us very well.
We have just stayed for a week at bryncylla and we loved every minute!!!! We were celebrating my husbands 40th birthday and it was the perfect setting. The owner is really friendly and welcoming. Gwyneth was so kind and thoughtful, she arranged a balloon and a beautiful welcome pack for us. The whole place has been furnished to such a high standard and was so comfortable to stay in. We required a high chair and cot and these were ready upon our arrival. The hot tub was perfect both in the sunshine and rain. The location was fantastic, close to a local farm and some beautiful walks. Would recommend and hope to return again! This is our fourth year of booking with Holiday Wales and our first visit to the Cwm Chwefru Lake Cottages and we will be back!! The cottages were easy to find and the setting is just spectacular - snuggled in the middle of the valley. The accommodation had everything that we needed for our 3 night stay - including a full sized fridge freezer. We are an active bunch and the grounds included a lake to fish in, tennis courts and a swimming pool alongside the beautiful valley to hike through. Having stayed in a shepherd hut last year, we booked 2 pods for a family stay and it was as wonderful as the first. The pods had everything we needed and was comfortable and warm. We would definitely stay again.
Me and my partner come for my birthday, and I will definitely be back!! The whole site in which these homes are on is stunning, the hot tub was a lovely feature. Our hut was clean and cosy and we feel the hosts went above and beyond to make this experience has relaxing as possible. Thankyou!!
We had a lovely time at the Mayflower and we are already looking at dates to come back. It was snowing the first night so we ordered a take away (Evans Plaice) as recommended which was lovely with the fire going. Then got into the comfiest bed to watch Netflix. The underfloor heating was great for when it was cold but not quite cold enough to need a fire. Hot tub instructions were clear and easy to understand. All utensils, kitchenware, towels and fire wood/kindling provided. We have already recommended to family and friends and cannot wait to come back ourselves.
The pod faces open country side, which is the wow factor. Pod has everything you need to cook (if you need to), wet room and proper bed, with a hot tub as as a bonus.,

We stayed at the Hayloft with our chidren and grand children for our sons 40th birthday and had a fabulous time. It is a lovely and well equipped house.
Wow! This place is truly beautiful if u want peace and relaxation go here! Everything u need home from home. We have stayed many yrs in Wales and come across this site so glad we booked. We was blown away! My child also loved it here. Hottub was so warm an clean. Star glazing unbelievable. And the fire pit fabulous. We booked the extra options of wood. Cupcakes an breakfast pack. The accommodation was perfect with everything we could have needed for our short stay. We were given a leaflet to help with any questions about our stay which was very helpful! The weather was also great during our stay so the views from the outside was absolutely lovely.
First time visit to this place and I wasn't disappointed, what a lovely place for a few days rest, everything you need on site, great play area for the kids, indoor swimming pool was great. Cafe are was also good, would have been nice to of maybe a little shop on site so you do some cooking,maybe an idea for future, all the team there was lovely they couldn't do enough, had a few flys in the cabin ut I think that was mainly being near the pond, nothing you can't handle though,was great that ther was a privacy screen around the tub,just perfect, will defo be going back.
We truly enjoyed our weekend away in the Fern - Beacon View Pod. The pod was very well equipped and cosy. We loved the hot tub and the views. I highly recommend this place for a nice romantic quiet weekend, it's the perfect place to turn off your phones and just enjoy each other and nature.

Amazing, all I can say it we had such a beautiful time here. The views, the atmosphere, honestly I would highly recommend. The Heulog it self was spacesous, clean, tidy, beautifully decorated.

We stayed in the Honeybee Home and it was absolutely incredible. The home was beautifully decorated, spacious, modern, and so cosy. The photos honestly don’t do it justice! The views were stunning, and waking up to see the alpacas just outside was the best part of every day. Feeding them became our daily highlight, they were so friendly and full of personality! The wood fired hot tub was amazing, it heated up quicker than we expected and was the perfect way to relax while taking in the countryside views. Lovely little spot. Perfect for the dogs plenty of room to run around. Inside was spotless and deceivingly spacious, Hot tub nice touch as well. Couple of mins in the car to the pub. Red kite feeding is worth a visit!
We had a lovely relaxing break at meadow view. It was perfect in every way and the hot tub was fantastic! The lodge was comfortable and had everything we needed. Our dog had a great time too! We loved it so much we’ve booked another lodge break with Holidays Wales for the summer, this time with our children.
We have just returned from spending Christmas here as a family of 6. The property is beautiful. The photos don't do it justice. So spacious, clean and homely. Property is well furnished with everything you could possibly need. The owner was very responsive in the run up to our holiday and throughout. We had a slight problem with the heating during our stay and a plumber was sent out within hours to rectify the issue. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and we will be looking to return in the future.
we stayed at Kestrel cottage 4 adults (friends) and two boys aged 10 and 12 on the 8th December. It was a quiet peaceful place, beautiful scenery and it was an exceptionally clean property to stay in. All the equipment we had the need of was provided. The place was spotless. Very rural but we were happy with that. We had taken dvd’s to use and board games to place. The swimming pool was lovely, sauna was a welcome addition too. We would all return in a heart beat. Great value for money and a perfect place to unwind

We love it here and have already booked for our 3rd time next year. The calmness and idylic surroundings make this place one of the best to stay at. The personal touches from Claire and David make it a home from home and the homemade victoria sponge cake made by Claire for each new family is delicious. We always book with the hot tub and enjoy the nightly soak outside with a glass of fizz, during the day you can sit there in the middle of no-where with only the alpacas to feed its wonderful. We loved our short stay here. The accommodation was excellent and comfortable. The alpaca provided lots of interest for the kids .The views were great with great stargazing from the hot tub.
I stayed previously with my sister, two children and two dogs. This time I came back with my partner for a more relaxing stay! Both times my stay has been amazing. It has everything you need to cook with. It's lovely and cosy of an evening. The only thing I struggled with both times is finding the correct turn into the site! Will definitely be back again.
My boyfriend and I have just returned from a 3-night stay at the Celyn Pod and we absolutely loved every minute. The pod was so cosy, beautifully set up, and the views were absolutely stunning. The hot tub was such a lovely addition, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We really appreciated the fresh eggs too it such a thoughtful touch! My husband and I had a lovely, relaxing stay at Rose. Check in was super easy and the little shepherds hut was in a lovely quiet area which felt secluded around the hot tub area and plenty of space if you have a four legged friend with you! Everything was thought of and the hut is brilliantly laid out and all space was utilised perfectly, not cramped at all. We were gutted that we only booked two nights there as we definitely wanted to stay for longer. We’ve already recommended to friends and family! Thank you Holiday Wales!
Second stay in the pods. Spotlessly clean. Premium finishes, dishwasher, oven, hob and microwave. Highlight is the hot tub and views over fields with lambs. Only scored down on location as it may be remote for some and not walkable to the nearest town Rhayader which is scenic with river walk, red kite feeding farm, co-op for essentials. Our first stay here and I can honestly say it won’t be our last. We have stayed locally previously so we knew we liked the area and there was plenty to do nearby, but during this visit we barely left the bungalow. It was so clean on arrival, we had very sweet gifts left for us by the owner (the cupcakes were incredible!), and it felt like a home away from home. A fabulous stay in a spotlessly clean and comfortable shepherd's hut. Cosy and warm with everything we could need. The enclosed garden was a huge bonus for our dog. The hot tub is a great feature and we were lucky to see red kites overhead whilst enjoying the valley views from the tub. Would have no hesitation in recommending for a relaxing break.
Very nice stay over the bank holiday. A few things need to be replaced or updated such as jets in the hot tub not working properly, the door to the bathroom not closing properly, a huge dip where the leg of the bed is and the mattress is tired as has large dips in it Would recommend but another pod

Lily was in a great location with a lovely outlook over the fields, the enclosed garden was large and great for our dog. Facilities were lovely with a really nice shower and bathroom. The owners were really helpful and brought us some matches for the BBQ when we couldnt find any. Could have done with a blind over the sky light but overall a really lovely stay with the added bonus of the hot tub.
We stayed in the Highland View shepards hut and we loved it! The hut is perfect and kitted out really well. The views are beautiful and we loved watching out over them when sitting in the hot tub, and it’s only a short drive down into the town. Elan Valley isn’t too far of a drive away to be able to go walking and seeing all the amazing Dams too. It’s been a beautiful break away for us and we will definitely be looking to come back again!
The views are amazing. This property brings peace and tranquillity, which is second to none. The property is well presented and clean, and the shower pressure is fantastic, although the door to the shower could do with opening wider, so if you are a larger person, getting in the shower may cause a few difficulties. On a personal note, we found the bed hard and uncomfortable.
Beautiful place, very romantic, perfect gateway for anyone who’s taking a break with furry babies. We spent 4 days at sunflower with gorgeous views, privacy and a high standard Equipment! If you looking for plenty of places to do some hiking and exploring combined with evening relaxation in a hot tub and an open fire then don’t hesitate just make your booking!! Worth every penny!
Great location next to small river in quiet village,very clean and in good condition ,great to relax in hot tub in the evening. Kitchen will equipped ,initially could not unlock the hob - found out how to do this using Qr code in living room with handy hints - press lock button for 5 seconds and it will unlock ,also had issue with opening patio doors -have to slightly pull up handle and will open - all in all had a lovely long weekend visiting Dams,Elan valley and Powis castle
We stayed during February half term at Beacon view barn, our daughter and two teenage granddaughters stayed next door at the same time. The views are amazing and fantastic, especially of hills and sheep. There are many narrow and sometimes steep country lanes all around the location. The lanes are quieter being the location is rural. Beacon View Barn has everything facility wise that you would expect, including an honesty box is case you have forgotten anything (toiletries wise). We stay here for 2nights for a birthday celebration! It was a lovely find! Very dog friendly, perfect location for dog walks! The cabin was lovely, hot tub was a lovely touch! We have an amazing stay and a lovely babymoon. The place is so beautiful, peaceful and neat and clean. Very safe as well. Our toddler totally enjoyed running around in the garden. Very impressed with the lodge as soon as we arrived. Cosy and feels homely inside. Top of the range appliances which made it very enjoyable. One thing that would have been nice would be a microwave as with these sorts of stays, we prepared our meals with this expectation. One more thing would be a mat on the floor inside the lodge as it rained while we were there and we ended up having to sacrifice one of our towels from home to avoid wet footprints inside. Overall, would definitely stay again and really enjoyed this. Will be recommending to friends and family.
Had a lovely time at Panteg. The location was superb and secluded, situated next to a lovely river. The accommodation was well kept and tidy and was a wonder to stay in. Hot tub was lovely and comfortable. There are some lovely horses in the fields next to the home and they are friendly. Would recommend!

Lovely stay at the kingfisher- host couldn’t do more - very helpful, decorated the hut including a cake for my girlfriend and offered to be a taxi for us if needed. Was lovely to get away with no signal and chill in lovely surroundings- even the thunderstorms didn’t ruin our weekend. Would go back again. Spent two nights here. It’s a lovely spot with commanding views. The accommodation was fine for two but would be a bit more challenging with 3 or 4. The cabin is modern and well presented but does lack any real storage for food (apart from fridge and freezer) and clothes. Overall, we were really impressed and would definitely return.

A great property - well thought out and nicely decorated. The owners have thought about creating a ‘home from home’. Lovely to have a secure garden for the dogs and the use of a hot tub. Fabulous location for the Elan Valley (which we highly recommend). We had the most incredible weekend at Meadow Retreat in Rhayader. Surrounded by farm animals and nature as far as the eye can see our stay was so peaceful. Our cabin was so clean, comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed. Claire and the rest of the crew went absolutely above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We even extended our stay by a night because of the snow! The hot tub was incredible, and we enjoyed every minute in it! Lovely break away cabins are perfect this is our second time staying here we've loved it everything perfect. Bathroom a little worn but everything else is spot on would definitely recommend. ☺️

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in Hare's view underground house. The view is stunning! The accommodation had everything we needed and the welcome pack is a lovely touch. The beds were very comfortable and it felt spacious for the 5 of us. I think the only thing I would change would be the lounge seating area, witt the curve of the house I think a sofa would be nicer for relaxing. The cabin is in a perfect location! Quiet and tranquil so ideal for a nice getaway. We went on a cold weekend so could have done with an extra blanket but would 100% go back!
Positives: fabulous setting, wonderful views, large garden gives plenty of outside space, hot tub fab, the cabin is comfortable & mostly has everything you’d need. Negatives: boiler not far from bed so kept me awake all night (I’m a light sleeper). No mirror anywhere. Blinds are useless so don’t expect a dark room when sleeping. Lots of dog poo in the garden, one corner was particularly bad & I called dog poo corner. Plates, bowls & mugs are all tiny!
What a fantastic farmhouse this is for a large group. Totally fulfilled every expectation we had for my 70th birthday with family and friends. Even tho it was a cold month the house was always lovely and warm. The hot tub was a great bonus and we had lots of fun in it, always hot and well maintained. Recommend this lovely venue for a large gathering
We had a fantastic time at Valley View Pod. We were so lucky with the weather, it was beautiful being surrounded by the beautiful Welsh countryside. The pod was the perfect size for 2 of us and our dog. It had everything we needed to cook, enjoy a cuppa and watch the sun go down in the hot tub. We’d love to return!
We really loved it here! Was hard to leave this beautiful place. The hut was super cosy and clean. It had everything you needed and more. Microwave, toaster, minifridge, plates, glasses, cutlery, tv, towels,... . The first night the water from the shower was a bit hot, but the next day it was fixed already. Also used the hot tub, was lovely and clean, easy to use. We loved how the bed was positioned in the hut. Definitely value for money!!
Lovely accommodation for a couple, couldn’t fault it for the cost. Only downfall would be the tv not working but other than that great value for money.
A lovely unique place to stay. We had such a nice time and took our bullmastiff with us. He loved it!! The only bits of feedback we had was the sofa was uncomfortable and hard to get cosy on (but we understand the design) and parts of the accommodation were looking abit tired and could do with a bit of tlc. The tent was lovely, the heated plinth gave off more heat than we realised it would! Showers and toilets were clean. Kitchen area was functional and clean too. The hot tub was great and so was the fire pit. Do take camping chairs to sit around the fire pit of an evening though. Looking forward to booking and returning again for a lovely chilled out break! Also had the best fish, chips and curry sauce from the local chippy!
We had a lovely chilled break at the Hares Rest. The location is really good with amazing views, very close to Rhayader. The accommodation was lovely apart from the bed. We had a surprise to see that the bed was more like a bunk bed. This was the only let down for our break, along with the bedding which was very basic. We therefore were unable to relax completely and returned home very early on our final morning. Such a shame

After looking forward to this unique concept with stunning view we were very disappointed with the very tired and in desperate need of some love property. Toilet seat was filthy and hanging off, floors are extremely tired and wonky, the place smelt of dogs and the bathroom was fusty and damp. Nearly every surface is damaged. The cleaner hadn't done a full clean, crumbs and hairs everywhere, food splashed up the units. Myself and my husband stayed for 4 nights with our dog to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. The property is impressive with lots of space and land, our dog really enjoyed the little woodlands behind the cabin. While the location is lovely and picturesque, surrounded by greenery and farm animals, it is a bit of a drive from the nearest town (around 20-25 minutes). We had a lovely 4 day break. The Lodge was lovely and clean. The twin room was a little small for an adult but otherwise ok. The site was clean and plenty for the kids to do. Only issue we had was the cafe, food wasnt great. They had run out of alot of ingredients but didn't tell us. We had completely different xishes to what we ordered. Staff were polite, but didn't seem to know what they were doing. Could have just been an off day.
