We are ever so grateful to the entire Drumlanrig and Queensberry team, in particular Alasdair, Gillian, Gordon and Betty. It was a truly special stay at Montagu and on the Queensberry Estate for our family. We cannot recommend any of the many holiday spaces on the Estate highly enough and equally visits to the beautiful Drumlanrig Castle and other attractions on the Estate. This was our fifth stay at Drumlanrig Castle Estate but our first in Slatehouse Cottage. As expected everything was first class with the spacious cottage, very clean, well equipped in a fabulous location. The garden was large and secure for our dogs and the proximity to both the river and loch for fishing is great. From initial booking and during our stay the Estate Team staff were really helpful, professional and friendly. For a relaxing break, with so much space to roam this is a number one place to stay.

Our first time staying at Drumlanrig after visiting several times previously.Stunning location but our stay was marred by the motorbike event held that weekend. Had we known at the time of booking that it was taking place we probably wouldn’t have chosen to stay that weekend. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. There was a problem with the water supply but we were forewarned about it and plenty of bottled water was supplied.We only used the hot tub once (due to the weather being inclement) but after a day’s exploring it was a needed treat. Great accomodation, well maintained and spotlessly clean. The enclosed garden with bbq was a bonus!
Very comfortable accommodation, perfect location and quiet with good parking. Ate in evening restaurant at Tearoom and the meal was superb
As always, I had a lovely stay but the cleaning service that is used really lets the managers and the property down badly. On this, my fifth trip…long thick black curly hair on the bed, a handful of thick black hair left in the toilet bowl, two pubic hairs on another toilet bowl, some surfaces covered in food and drink detritus, my dog was scraping underneath a radiator and when I looked underneath, I found piles of dust and hair and…half a hot dog!!!
