We rented both Montagu(for my husband and I) and Laundry Cottage for my daughter, husband and 3 teenage grandchildren. The cottages were beautifully furnished, comfortable and had everything we needed. Their position on the Estate was perfect and the facilities second to none. We had a wonderful time and send a huge thank-you to Gillian and her team for such a great experience.
We had a family break , 8 of us plus toddler and dog for three nights. Our second time at this cottage although this time we had the toddler too! Plenty to do in the surrounding area and the hot tub was a bonus. It is a hidden gem and we hope to be back

The cottage was very clean and comfortable with all the facilities you could need with the added bonus of a hot tub with fabulous views. The log burner was also used in the evening and we had all we needed for that too. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Utility/porch entrance was a godsend with the wet weather for drying our dog and leaving wet footwear / coats. The only constructive feedback on facilities is there were only 4 forks provided and there were 5 of us. Thank you so much for the warm welcome you gave us. The staff were amazing and needless to say the castle and views are out of this world. The water was a little now but mother nature’s got that one. Will definitely try coming back when conditions a little bit more favourable for fishing. I can’t fault the rest so relaxing, So picturesque.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Drumlanrig this summer - weather was cool/mixed, but did not dent our experience. We were worried that the filming that had taken over the castle and grounds would be a problem but in the event we were not disturbed, and were fascinated to have a bird's eye view of some of the filming in progress. We were happy to be able to look round the gardens when filming had finished on the last day of our stay
Another summer, another stay at Queensberry Cottage! This year we had our 5 month old granddaughter joining our party and Drumlanrig was her introduction to Scotland and the ideal break between the Northamptonshire Buccleuch estate and the west coast islands. We’ll be back!
As always, I had a lovely stay but the cleaning service that is used really lets the managers and the property down badly. On this, my fifth trip…long thick black curly hair on the bed, a handful of thick black hair left in the toilet bowl, two pubic hairs on another toilet bowl, some surfaces covered in food and drink detritus, my dog was scraping underneath a radiator and when I looked underneath, I found piles of dust and hair and…half a hot dog!!!
