We absolutely loved our stay here for a birthday get away. Everything you needed was all there and the bed was extremely comfortable as well as it being nice and dark with the overhead cover. Communication and instructions were super clear, we cant wait to go back!
Clean, tidy and very comfortable. The cottage is magical, with excellent facilities and utilities, that will make it tempting to stay indoors all day! However the village is worth visiting in itself, and there's some fantastic pubs within walking distance, serving excellent food at an affordable price.
We really enjoyed our stay at Constable Lodge. The cottage, although small, is well proportioned and comfortable, and we enjoyed sitting in the garden during the nice weather. The welcome pack was appreciated. Parking was never a problem, and a lovely pub by the river, The Anchor, and an excellent deli, were within easy walking distance.
The approach and the parking area was slightly disappointing but it is a farmyard. The cottage , garden and the grounds are beautiful. Having the lake and a boat was a bonus
True olde worlde accommodation with a beautiful enclosed garden which was ideal for children and dogs. Idyllic English village and the setting was unique being placed on a stunning estate. Perfect base for the seaside, Colchester Zoo (which was excellent!) as well as picturesque villages such as Sudbury and Lavenham. Generous welcome basket on arrival and the house was certainly fit for purpose. We loved the fascinating Post Office room with many original features. Would definitely recommend.
A great location, ideally situated for walking and taking in the fresh air in peace and quiet. Beautifully presented and only a short drive to many local attractions. The wife is a huge Lovejoy fan, which made the stables even more interesting, a great few days away from the stresses of life!
To borrow a catchphrase from The Fast Show; 'Suffolk...brilliant!' and Stoke-by-Nayland is ground zero for enjoying its brilliance. Location-wise you can't go wrong here - footpaths go off in every direction and you are also within a short drive of Long Melford and Lavenham. The property is right in the middle of the village, within walking distance of the well-stocked local shop and outstanding Crown Inn. It's a well-presented two-bedroom semi-detached cottage, with bedrooms at front & rear, both with lovely views. There is a good-sized lounge and a long kitchen and dining area. Ther...more
Wonderful, generous, helpful hosts, we would give a 10 for customer service if the score allowed. Beautiful location. Cosy, professionally designed interior, very comfortable beds, great base for a holiday, with many places to visit. We had a lovely, memorable holiday and have recommended Aspen Loft to our friends and family.
This is a beautiful property, as described, with plenty of space. Thats before you even explore the adjoining orchard or the very private garden. Easy to find, and access with parking right outside. Perfect for our needs, and ideally located for us too. Communications with the team are excellent….certainly would recommend this lovely place.
Beautiful location. Waking up and looking out at the sun rising over the pond was a real experience. The antics of the moorhen family was an added bonus. We really enjoyed our stay here.
My partner Claire is writing this We fell in love with this place when we first came in April. It is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with a really cosy feel. Everything you need has been taken care of. It is new and clean. Lots of information about where to go and what to see. A nice secluded private outdoor space (much more private in the Summer). It feels luxurious. The bed is absolutely huge. We love it here.
Quirky town, quirky pad. Lovely place to stay and lovely place to stay in. Would recommend a visit.
The Silos is situated in a lovely, very peaceful countryside setting although it was only a couple of miles from a town. We really enjoyed watching pheasants, rabbits, hares and even a deer from the windows. We were very comfortable there and it would be one of the few places we would be happy to return to.
A clean, comfortable and welcoming property. Beautifully kept gardens. Ideally situated a short distance from A12. Very quiet with access to the gardens & park at the rear. Any queries were promptly responded to by the property manager. Thoroughly recommend staying here
Extremely clean cottage, great location. Someone was on hand to help us if any issues. Very beautiful cottage. 5/5 stars
We very much enjoyed our stay. The place is done up very nicely with great attention to detail. The welcome pack we found was very generous and very much appreciated and enjoyed. The bed is comfortable and bathroom and kitchen in very good condition. Garden area is also very pretty. Surrounding area is beautiful. Highly recommended.
Great location, wonderfully private and beautiful surroundings. The hay loft was just as the pictures show. Well designed and very welcoming home from home, can’t wait to return.
The cottage was an absolute delight. Beautifully furnished - really comfortable beds - great location - lovely secure garden for the dogs - wonderful walks. We had a fantastic week there.
This was our 6th visit to the Gildhall, it is warm and welcoming and a welcome basket is left for you with first night essentials which is a lovely touch, the cottage is spacious and warm and a lovely relaxing place to unwind and chill, a safe enclosed garden for the dogs which they love and plenty of dog walks. We are returning again in the winter and already booked for 2024 I would highly recommend
Enjoyable stay, excellent facilities and good location. Would stay again. Parking is difficult if you have a large car.
Had a lovely stay. The setting is gorgeous and the cottage is comfortable! We loved using the tennis court and slept well. Will be back!
We had a very pleasant stay at the cartlodge there was a wecolme hamper which we were grateful for a ( good touch), the cartlodge was comfortable and homely we enjoyed our time there with the land for the family to run around in and places close by to visit.
Lovely cottage in quiet area close to many places to visit. Very dog friendly. Well equipped and great outdoor space
A larger sign at the bottom of the driveway would be a help locating the cottage. Our sat nav didn’t seem to recognise the postcode and took us too far. Fortunately we found some friendly locals who gave us directions. An outside space to sit in the sun would have been nice but it was a lovely cottage and we enjoyed our stay.
12 members of our family stayed here and at stable cottage for a week and we all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday! We found the properties to be well equipped and spacious. The pool was a massive hit with everyone- both in the sunshine and the rain! The location was great, quiet and peaceful although within easy reach of many places of interest. We would definitely return and would highly recommend.
This would be our second cottage booked through Idyllic. Our first cottage was perfect. Sadly, this wasn’t. Firstly, the kitchen appeared to have been overlooked during the cleaning ahead of our stay. Many surfaces were covered in dirty stains and finger marks and the small Nespresso machine was filthy, with used pods still left in situ. We felt we needed to clean all the utensils before we could use them. We checked before booking that this cottage accepts a dog. It does, but there is an access path from a neighbouring property. We often found the neighbour actually walking up an...more
