Clean, tidy and very comfortable. The cottage is magical, with excellent facilities and utilities, that will make it tempting to stay indoors all day! However the village is worth visiting in itself, and there's some fantastic pubs within walking distance, serving excellent food at an affordable price.
Had a wonderful time at the Constable lodge. Presented well, perfect location for us. Amenities were good.
I only have high praise for Box Valley Cottage and the owners who have evidently lavished much care on this lovely place. Everything about the house was spot on and we wanted for nothing in terms of amenities, comfort and convenience. The attention to detail stood out and the cottage is delightful in every way. It's the perfect package and an absolute wrench to leave.
Belchamp Hall Mill cottage is a fantastic property which provides spacious accommodation with great character. The two floor property offers a large amount of space which is rarely found in cottages for two people. The scenery around the cottage is stunning and walks are right outside your front door. The cottage is well equipped to an high standard and is extremely comfortable. We stayed in very cold outside temperatures (-5C) but the cottage was very cosy with its underfloor heating downstairs in the bedroom and bathroom and upstairs the log burner and central heating in the longe and ki...more
We have stayed at the old post office numerous times in the past. But due to covid had not been for a few years. It did not dissappoint. When you arrive there is a lovely welcome pack with various sweet treats. The house is spotlessly clean, warm and inviting set in beautifully maintained grounds. We spent 10 days there with our dogs and family and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Chris, the site manager was always available to answer questions and help if needed and his team were friendly without being intrusive. Our dogs were made to feel welcome.
We have visited Suffolk several times but stayed in the north of the county , this location between Essex and Suffolk allowed us to appreciate another side of the county. A beautiful location so peaceful and idyllic so much so we were lucky to add another night. Would recommend and will do so.
We had an amazing week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Calf Pens. Honestly couldn’t fault facilities! Delightful cottage with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, really comfortable living area, set in lovely grounds in a delightful area. We found it reassuring that Allison and Huge left a welcome letter and contact number and that we were able to contact them if we needed to.
Lovely place to stay; warm, comfortable and inviting. Both log burner and AGA were easy to use. The 2 upstairs bedrooms were huge and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bed linen was white crisp cotton. There was plenty of hot water and the heating could be adjusted appropriately. The garden bedroom was tiny but we knew it would be and the fridge was small and not easily accessible if you intend to do a lot of cooking for 5 or 6 people - but that's a very minor gripe. The stairs might be a bit hard to negotiate if you were infirm or very elderly. The enclosed garden was lovely and...more
We had a lovely relaxing stay at the cartlodge. We hadn't been to the area before and it was the perfect location for visiting many National Trust properties as well as other interesting places. The lodge itself is well appointed with a very comfy bed, lovely garden and view of the church. Only one suggestion, maybe the sofas in the living room could do with a change as they are very low and not ideal for anyone older or with back or knee problems. But apart from that 5 stars!
As a team who tours all over the country and stays in a lot of holiday accommodation, we are happy to say that this was one of the best! Comfortable, clean, homely, welcoming and spacious. We will definitely be back!
Enjoyable stay, excellent facilities and good location. Would stay again. Parking is difficult if you have a large car.
We had a wonderful week away at Belchamp Hall Coach House and have already recommended it to friends and family. The location is great, especially if you have dogs, as there are loads of walks in the area and the ability to make use of the walled garden and exterior of the grounds really made our stay quite special. The Hall is off a very quiet road, it was incredibly peaceful. There are loads of villages and towns nearby with some great eateries recommended in the literature in the house. All supermarkets delivered to the Coach House as well, which is a major bonus. The property itself is ...more
The hayloft is set in a beautiful location with walking from the door on local footpaths, Very peaceful and quiet,..Plenty of off street parking right outside the door, We were in control of the heating which is always a bonus especially if it's too hot or too cold, The large bed is one of the comfiest we have stayed in, The property is a lot larger than it looks on the pictures and had some lovely features. All in all everything was perfect, If you book the Hayloft you won't be disappointed
Very nice stay at beautiful beamed thatched house. Quiet area and good outside area for four legged friends. If you want to stay somewhere historic this is a good choice.
Fab place to stay for the weekend or even long term (in our case!) and great walks for your fur babies. Amazing hosts who were very welcoming.
Very relaxing cottage. Lovely parkland grounds to walk around with the dog. Great location for visiting Constable countryside.
Small immaculate cottage, on busy road in village. Kitchen tiny but adequate, oven door didn’t fit. Oddly contacted by agent to ask why a window was open and that our fuel economy wasn’t great! Felt we were being spied on!
The living area was smaller than expected but was adequate, but for four people it would be a little cramped.
Lovely location. A bit out in the sticks. Very comfortable especially in the winter time. Have to come back in the summer.
We all had a great time during our stay at The Old Barn and Charlie at Idyllic Suffolk couldn’t have been more helpful, dealing with all our questions and sorting out the blinds in the bedroom for us. We would definitely recommend Idyllic Suffolk and will contact Charlie again when planning our next visit to Suffolk.
Had a good time staying at Tudor Cottage, it had all the amenities and was a cosy cottage. Busy road but conveniently located to visit other towns. Shower was inadequate, however I understand a new shower is being installed which will be a good addition. The living room sofa is comfortable but very low. We had a nice stay in Tudor cottage.
My friend and I stayed in Stable Cottage in Semer and were disappointed with the lack of cleanliness especially with the pool which was the main reason for booking this. I am a keen swimmer and this was why we booked this. The pool was full of dead insects and the tiles round it had been covered in plastic which was peeling away from the side. We couldn’t sit out because the chairs were dirty. There were a lot of cobwebs in the property. The bed was clean but there was an issue about the blind for the window. The owner met us by saying he forgot we were coming which we did not think was very w...more
