Swan’ s Nest definitely exceeded our expectations. The cottage is beautifully decorated to a high standard and very well equipped. The beds are extremely comfortable with good quality linens and the kitchen has everything necessary. The welcome basket is a very nice touch.

A very comfortable & clean cottage.

We had a very enjoyable 5 night stay at Swan's Nest , & would have like to stay a couple of days longer, but we had work commitments.

The owner sent us a welcome message, & told us to contact her if we needed anything , or if there were any issues.

The cottage was very clean , & we arrived to a welcome pack of milk, snacks & nice bottle of wine, & fresh flowers on the dining table.

It was a quirky cottage , but well laid out , with a dining area with log burner & small kitchen with a door leading out to the courtyard. There was also a downstairs loo. The fridge & small freezer compartment was small , but it OK for us , as there are 2 very local shops in the village where we could get fresh produce if we needed anything.
A small Nespresso coffee machine would have been a nice addition, but it didn't detract from our stay.
The courtyard was OK , & we spent 2 evenings BBQing meats we had bought from the great local butchers.
I did mention that the courtyard could do with a bit more colour, which is easy to do with hanging baskets of flowers.

The 1st floor had very comfortable beds that we asked to be made up to a super king size bed.
The bed linen was wonderfully soft & luxurious. We just wish we had asked for single quilts, instead of the large king size quilt supplied , as the weather was very warm.
There was a small bathroom with a wonderful rain shower , & additional hand held shower. In the future we will look to install something similar in our house.
Other than the kitchen/dining room , the lounge was our favourite room.
It had a wonderful view to the woods & church , & had a comfortable settee & chair.
The TV remote took a little while to get used to, but the TV had Netflix, Prime etc.

The 2nd floor had a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, with a bath rather than shower.

The village has 2 pubs , but note that neither pub currently opens on Mondays. We preferred the White Hart , & sat in the enclosed garden with our dog.

The 2 shops have most thing you need , including daily newspapers, & the Post Office shop is supposedly the oldest shop in England.
We used the local butcher a couple of times to buy steaks for the BBQ, milk & the usual sausages, bacon, eggs for our daily breakfast.
If you get a chance, try the chilli beef stir fry mix. It was delicious.

There are some good dog walks from the cottage. Our favourite was the walk up the track , passed the bowling club ( they celebrated their centenary this year with a match against the Chelsea Pensioner Bowling Club), & across the playing field & along the track to Groton , where we visited the Fox & Hounds a couple of time , one being the Monday when both Boxford pubs were closed !!
The other good walk was through Primrose wood, which was useful during the day as the weather was very warm.
Both walks were circular & took approx 50 mins.

All in all, it was a wonderful & relaxing 5 night break for us , & we would have no hesitation in recommending Swan's Nest & Idyllic Suffolk to family & friends.

Small immaculate cottage, on busy road in village. Kitchen tiny but adequate, oven door didn’t fit.
Oddly contacted by agent to ask why a window was open and that our fuel economy wasn’t great! Felt we were being spied on!

Swan’s Nest is a perfect home from home in an idyllic Suffolk village. The property is spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed - you’ll find everything you could possibly need during your stay … at the end of the day you can either sit in the first floor living room and enjoy the glorious view, or take your tipple in the lovely back garden … however you roll … this beautiful home will be just right for you!
