We had a lovely stay at Tapnell farm. We booked the aqua park and booked the padel court a couple of times, both activities were fantastic. We ate in the cow restaurant and agreed they served some of the best burgers we’ve eaten. The games room was also a big hit with my boys, we will definitely be back to stay again.
Great house for our group and such a bonus to be next to Tapnell farm with all the facilities and such a beautiful location- we will definitely Italy be back!
Perfect location , really cosy chalet with everything you need , super comfy beds and really clean inside Lovely eco products and added bonus of easy recycling facilities close by even food waste Staff at the shop were so friendly and helpful The cow was also excellent Nothing negative to say but would have liked instructions for the tv found it quite confusing but that’s more user error Highly recommend Stunning views too Would def love to come back again
We had the most amazing wedding day. Chloe and Mel have been so lovely and so helpful, nothing was ever too much. Mel has been so great controlling all the vendors for us and making sure everything ran smoothly on the day. The food was exceptional, everyone was talking about it. The whole day just felt like ours, everything went how we wanted and Mel made sure of that. We never felt rushed or forced or overwhelmed when dealing with the staff at East Afton We were a bit shocked to have to set the venue tables and chairs up ourselves but we ended up enjoying it. And we were a little worried a...more
This was our fouth year of a family holiday at The Wendy House which speaks for itself. We love all aspects of the accomodation and particularly the secluded location. Our 6 year old grandson makes full use of the space and will be old enough next year to use the Water Park on site. Our family BBQ was perfect under the trees with spectacular views over the Solent. The staff at Tapnell Farm including the office staff were very helpful and a pleasure to meet. Already booked for next year. ...more
We stayed in a Dome and booked last minute, which included a discounted ferry. The Dome was great, very spacious and well equipped, especially the kitchen. The bathroom is huge and shower powerful. The kids loved the bunk beds! The view is incredible, my only slight complaint is that the domes aren’t soundproof and you can hear your neighbours. There are earplugs provided, but I just found it a shame as it’s just a peaceful location otherwise. It was only me that noticed it, my husband and children didn’t at all. We picked up the free fresh eggs for breakfast - delicious! We also visit...more
Our party of 18 stayed at East Afton over Christmas and the New Year. The kids took full advantage of the free entry to Tapnnall Farm, toddlers were ferried by car but the older ones and adults enjoyed the short walk across the fields. The accommodation was perfect for us with enough space to seek a spell of peace and quiet if you need a spell away from the full on Christmas excitement. We took a slow cooker and large pans as we were unsure whether weed need extra for cooking a full Christmas meal for so many, but it was unnecessary as the kitchen had everything we needed especially wi...more
I stayed in Dome 5 with my dog. This is the second time I have stayed on Tapnell Farm. Just what I needed the dome felt secluded and the view was lovely. The staff are always friendly with lovely fresh eggs. I absolutely love this place and it’s so close to the Military Road with Brook Bay and Compton for beautiful beach walks. Yarmouth, Freshwater and Totland all a short drive away. The Cow restaurant is a short walk and the food is lovely. It got slightly chilly at night but a log fire and an electric blanket on the bed was perfect. Love love love this place! Can’t wait to come...more
If you need a lovely compact place for a short stay, this was great. Clean and what an amazing location. Staff are always so kind.
We enjoyed our weekend in our Modulogs, our Son and family and daughter and family had Modulogs 1&2. It was perfect for a family get together. The Modulogs were warm and cosy and spotless clean and well equipped with everything we could need. Our only one thought was the toilet could do with being a bit bigger as my husbands knees were against the doors Having access to the park was so lovely for the grandchildren and being close to the cows in the field behind was also great. The views across Freshwater were beautiful, the ambiance was very peaceful. Until one visitor was flying his drone...more
We visited for the views and peacefulness, Tapnell Farm did not disappoint. We’ll definitely be back. The Domes were amazing, very spacious, great views and equipped with everything you would need.
The cabin was immaculate and had milk, biscuits waiting for us on arrival plus everything to be able to use the BBQ and Fire pit. Being allowed in the farm park early was a great addition and loved our meals at The Cow. The staff are so lovely and we will definitely be back soon.
We've always loved Tapnell Farm and the safari tents but this year it felt particularly wonderful to be back. They're still in great nick, and the whole park improved since our last visit. Far too short of course - next time we must book earlier!
My second review, the feedback is the same…we stayed in two accommodation types at Tapnells - it was awesome! It’s difficult to provide strong, positive feedback about the modulogs, safari tents, or Tapnells to ensure I do this outstanding location, organisation and vibe justice. In a nutshell the entire experience was outstanding. The process from booking, liaising with staff, arriving, conducting the activities and checking-out - I couldn’t find fault. We benefited from staying during a slightly quieter period and the weather was incredible however, the rest was simply excellent regard...more
Beautiful position with super views of west wight. Quiet, peaceful and the eggs for breakfast were a lovely addition. Only objection was to someone flying a drone from the pod next door which we found slightly irritating and intrusive.
We booked this as a last minute 2 night get away for 2 adults and 2 kids. The domes themselves are exceptionally well equipped with full functioning kitchen and bathroom. There are radiators in the kitchen and bathroom and a woodburner in the main living room/ sleeping room. Darn facilities are fantastic including the cow restaurant and activities for kids. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, which is to be expected in Feb, but we still had a great stay.
We wanted to celebrate a special birthday with all the family (14) 8 adults and 6 children naged 3-11 By combining Poachers Lodge and Poachers Perch in a 3 day booking we were able to all be together and enjoy the fun and excitement Tapnell Farm offers. The kitchen/dining area at Poachers Lodge allowed us all to be together and with two separate living rooms it also allowed for kids to have their own entertainment together. A very happy time, the staff at Tapnell Farm could not have been more helpful and accomodating. We wiill visit again
We had a fantastic time staying in the modulog. Very clean and beautiful views. Lovely staff and great facilities.
Well appointed and comfortable and perfect position if attending a wedding at the farmhouse. The bathrooms were unexpectedly huge with ironing board/iron/hairdryer and plenty of hanging space for dresses and suits (not enough space for this in the actual piglet). Lovely open space for gathering (we had family in all four piglets) but obviously no communal space if raining.
We had a lovely stay at Little Lodge. Well appointed kitchen, very comfortable bedrooms and the most gorgeous views. Only improvement would be an L shaped sofa to fit 4 people and a lamp in the living room. Otherwise was perfect.
The containers are the perfect camping upgrade. Solid beds, nice locations, great view. The shower and toilet block is just what you need. Perfect spot to explore the island and the farm from. So much to do
Perfect accomodation, location and facilities for a multi-generational family gathering to celebrate a special occasion with all ages catered for, whatever the weather, both within the accommodation and in the farm area.
Absolutely perfect for a weekend to attend friends wedding. The views were stunning and it was so peaceful. Will definitely return
A very spacious cabin. Very well equipped just a couple of things missing to make it perfect. Mirrors in all bedrooms would be good and a second shower over the bath.
With beautiful views, a well lovely cabin, no end of activities and wonderful staff I couldn't recommend Tapnell Farm more highly. We were there for a corporate away day but would lovely to take the family as well.
We had a great time at Camp Tapnell. The communal spaces such as kitchen and clubhouse were a great way to meet other guests staying there. The facilities were clean. Communal kitchen was equipped with microwave, air-fryer, electric stoves, toasters and kettles, so just needed to bring our own kitchenware such as sauce pans, plates and utensils. Activities in Tapnell Farm Park were fun. My 13-year-old boy enjoyed the go-kart and mini and Tower slides the most as well as visiting the animal farm. Particularly the Alpaca and Wallabies. We also booked the Aqua Park and my boys had an awesome ti...more
I stayed in the pod with my 10 year old autistic grandson and we had the best time. The pod was perfect and the added complimentary milk and biscuits were much appreciated. We both slept really well. As guests we were able to access the farm park an hour before the general public which was fantastic for Sammy. We can’t wait to come back!
Great location and accommodation The teams at Tapnell are super helpful and reactive We will be back next year
We stayed for the weekend in one of the Piglets. Our stay was fantastic we were there for a wedding and had everything we needed in the piglet and shower room, would definately recommend
We had a wonderful stay, great location we did the Farm Park and Aqua Park. The container was lovely and warm. The showers were clean. Every thing seemed new. The kitchen area and fridge was so useful. As a family of 4 we would have preferred less beds (there were 8) and more communal space in the container - especially as it was raining.
We had a wonderful time in the safari tent. It was very clean and our children loved being able to roast marshmallows in the evening. There were such lovely touches likes the biscuits and milk in the fridge and the beds were so comfortable! We will definitely be back!
Excellent location . Tent is very good but getting to bathroom at night is a bit chilly ( probably fine in summer. ) Staff helpful. All in all an excellent base to explore the island in a novel way
We had a great stay in Dairyman's cottage, 5 adults and 3 children for a long weekend. The house was lovely, very comfortable with everything we needed and a couple of minor issues were, quite dirty floors and the box by the front door with wires in wasn't secure so children could easily get into it. The activities on the farm were fantastic with so much for the children to do, they absolutely loved it as the adults did too, everything was so well organised and the staff all so welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here and the Ile of Wight is gorgeous!
We had a fabulous stay at Tapnell. Cycled there from Yarmouth on a sunny autumnal day with our two kids and it was so nice to be able to check in so easily and go straight to our accom independently without all the usual faff. The modulogs are super cosy, practical and have everything you need. Our children immediately found some playmates a couple of cabins down and we made the most of our hot tub with fantastic view. It took us a while to work out the oven having thought it was on when it wasn't (!) but we had a very lovely eve. The next day we maxed out the activities starting with football...more
We had an amazing stay at Camp Tapnell in the shipping containers. The showers were good, hot and clean. the toilets had hand dryers with hair dryers attached and toddler seats as part of seat which really helps with little kids. The kitchen area was well provided with toaster, air fryer and fridges and a microwave. They had provide soap in toilets and washing up liquid in kitchen. lots of drinking water taps near to containers too. we went into Tapnell farm and the kids loved it so much for the kids to do. We also experienced the Barn, Boots and Beats event in the evening which was great fun....more
Booked the snug as attending wedding at east afton farm. So convenient and a lovely secluded spot. Communication and information pre trip from Chloe was superb and all my questions and requests were sorted quickly. Great accommodation with everything you need - love the rings on the wall to hang clothes. Very warm and cosy with nice bathroom and plenty of tea and coffee. Perfect for a short break, was tight for space but lovely to escape life for a few days and perfect if attending a function there. Would recommend
Container is great, was so glad of the sturdy frame when it was rainy and windy all night. Was ready a bit early, found the pizza oven by safari tents and made pizza which the kids loved, farm is great and not too busy so lots of go karts, trampolines, bouncy pillow. Cafe nice but quite expensive, cappuccino £4, yummy cakes. Tesco 3 miles away in freshwater is handy for a meal deal etc. The cow was good but again quite expensive, nice atmosphere though and interesting layout, staff helpful. Nice views from farm good for parents while watching kids play. Camp tapnell loos and showers really cle...more

Roosters ridge provided a perfect base for our stay. The container was clean & dry, the storage units provided made our stay much easier than living out of our bags. Site facilities were clean, plenty of toilets & showers were available. The allocated fridge space in the kitchen area was a nice addition & facilities available made our stay much easier than just camping (being able to boil a kettle was great!). We actually over-packed as facilities were better than anticipated (washing up liquid provided, a wash up sink, tea towels, food storage tubs, bed sheets) The only thing we struggled wi...more
Excellent facilities (kitchen/bathrooms). We had an issue with a smelly rug which was dealt with promptly. Otherwise very clean. Only feedback is that the website/instructions makes it sound like there’s a farm shop when there isn’t. A shop would have been really useful. It talks about buying pizza from farm shop and using pizza oven but no sign of either. Otherwise it was good value and would recommend.
The location is excellent with views of the hills and glimpses of the sea and white cliffs. Check the site map as the containers are placed quite close to each other. The one at the back have the best views. The kitchen is well equipped, but there is no freezer for some of the cabins. No hob as well. The bathrooms are very clean. Overall a great way to experience camping without the fuss of tents and cooking over camp stoves.
Second time visiting this place. Such a lovely spot and so fun for the children. Facilities excellent. Only trouble was some people arrive not expecting camp site and assume hotel facilities! Showers and toilets fantastic. Staff prompt if any concerns. Very practical accommodation layout. Suggest a pump dispenser for washing up liquid as people use too much and it's gone within a day. Thank you
Everything you possibly need is contained within a family fun packed area. Kids ask to repeat this trip every year!
We loved the variety of things to do at the farm and the quality of the provision. Lots to do for those with young ones (2-10 yrs). For those kids who are slightly older, the teenagers, there is not so much to get stuck into beyond a couple of hours on site, but our daughter still enjoyed it and spent time with her younger sister. Accommodation is great, warm and we liked the novelty. The kitchen was stacked full of equipment, which made life so much easier. Loved all the signage throughout the site which outlined which guests should use what. The shower block was awesome for a camping sit...more
Great clamping experience and lovely location. Loads to do on the farm. Good facilities. Definitely recommended.
A fabulous stay with breathtaking views! The piglet had all I needed for a fabulous few nights sleep. The separate bathroom was really spacious and very clean. Thank you for a wonderful experience
Good central location and recommended for a weekend break, the Aqua park is well worth a visit. Overall we found it Tapnell Farm rather expensive, for example the Cow pub was charging £7.50 a pint and £20 for a burger. East chalet is also located next to the toilet block, during the night you'd hear the noise from the Macerator, not ideal for a restful break.
