Such a magical place and a stunning location for our wedding. Having the venue for 5 days allowed us to really enjoy the wedding preparation, something you just don’t get with other venues. The barns were just perfect and it meant the world to be able to house our closest friends and family in the farmhouse and adjoining annexe. Everyone was blown away by the standards of the rooms and the bonus of cinema room and hot tub. Chloe and the team went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and our big day special, it felt like having additional friends with us. Honestly I can’t reco...more
A group of 34 of us spent the weekend at Tom's Eco Lodges to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was fabulous. It absolutely lived up to the high expectations we had. The lodges were warm and dry in the rain (with the help of the wood-fired oven and electric blankets), the hot tubs were much appreciated, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. I can't find a single negative thing to say!
The pod was sited in a great location with a wonderful view. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The pod was well equipped with everything we needed and all very good quality. The shower was hot and powerful and the bed very comfortable and cosy. We liked the extra touches of fresh local milk in the fridge, local made cookies and coal for the bbq and wood in the fire pit. Would definitely stay again.
Amazing place to stay with a group of girlfriends. Chloe and the team were very helpful in the lead up to our stay. Very comfy beds and great showers.
This is a Lovely areas, the restaurant was great and the people were so friendly, is also great to see so many animals in the farm.
Brilliant location, friendly staff, fantastic dome with great bed and features eg opening in the ceiling to star gaze. Oh, and all the fire wood you need for the log burner or outside fire. Showers and toilet facilities were also excellent.
We have nothing bad to say about The Domes and the Tom's Eco lodges. The accommodation was so different and spectacular compared to anything we had stayed in before. The Domes are comfortable, warm, clean and filled with welcome home comforts such as fridge, toaster, kettle, heater, wood burner etc. Communal facilities are convenient and again so clean. The area is spectacular and full of lovely places to visit. Finally Chloe and her team made us most welcome and were only too happy to help with anything we needed. Will definitely return.
We couldn't have been better looked after at East Afton farmhouse. From the very generous bottle of prosecco on our arrival to the excellent communication throughout, our group of 12 had a fantastic time. The grounds were beautifully kept, the beds comfortable and the hot tub overlooked the surrounding countryside- a great weekend!
Our family stayed at Tapnell Farm for a long weekend, in Safari tent, Ecopod and cabin. Suited our needs perfectly and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
We stayed at Tapnell Farm for 4 nights in a wooden cabin with all mod cons. Chloe and her team at the farm went out of their way to make our stay special. From collecting fresh eggs in the morning from the chicken coop to feeding baby lambs. Great food from the Cow Co. restaurant, the Kids playing in the barn and then back to the hot tub(supplied by Wight Hot Tub Hire) to watch the sun set from the decking. We all had a really relaxing time and can't wait to return. Thanks again Tapnell
We loved everything at Tapnell Farm - particularly the pancakes at breakfast! Loads to do on the island within easy reach, extremely cosy in the tent. We would love to come back
Heating was an issue as there appeared to be a few holes in the corners of the tent so was very drafty. This was not evident in tents 1 and 2. Can I suggest that you invest in some cot bedding? I was more than happy to use normal sheets etc however, she did not keep warm enough at all (despite using a few blankets too) so I had to attempt to put an electric blanket in her cot which felt vey unsafe as it was obviously too big! The problem with young babies and toddlers is that they kick their covers off!!
We had a fantastic few days in one of the Domes, everything has been beautifully thought out and kitted out with what you need. The views are stunning and we loved the outside seating and bbq area and when it got chilly we came inside and lit the log burner. Lovely warm showers and not far to go for them. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use the pizza oven but did have a lovely meal in the restaurant. The staff were so helpful and friendly and nothing to much trouble. I would definitely recommend and we will be back again for sure.
Kids loved it and felt it was really well managed in light of the new systems in place to help protect people. Amazing location and amazing facilities for the kids. Thanks for a great couple of days!
We travelled with four adults and a toddler and all of us had an amazing time at tapnell. There is so much to do that you'd never need to leave the site with its gorgeous views and well equipped tents. Little touches like the honesty shed and free bags of ice/charcoal/logs/cookies weren't necessarily noticed until we realised how much of a difference they made. The weather was perfect so we did spend a lot of time on site making pizzas, barbeques and log fires and letting the little monkey hang out with the chickens (all the kids on site LOVED this). We had no problems at all while we were the...more
We came for a long weekend family gathering and will certainly return. The owners and staff are great and the children spent loads of time in the play park. Lovely house which met all our needs. The water in the kitchen wasn’t hot enough for washing up which was odd but all else was perfect. A barrier/gate at the bottom (and top) of the stairs would be helpful as our baby gates weren’t wide enough and we kept losing the toddlers!
The tent was amazing.. and it was all the little extras that made our stay so special, heated mattress covers and a very well equipped kitchen.. the fact we didn't have to pay for our logs and t bags.. just made it really nice because we didn't feel like we were being ripped off left, right and center.. only a few points: We didn't have any big chairs to sit on outside like the other tents did.. The master double bed was very uncomfortable and sagged in the middle, we slept in the cabin which was lovely! And as I've mentioned, the Tap and Ale festival was extremely noisy, the base w...more
I booked the cottage and annex for my dads 70th birthday, with a large family group of all ages staying. The house was beautiful and clean, the facilities brilliant. The cinema room was a huge hit with all, and even made good use of the hot tub in the rain. I thoroughly recommend the house it was a brilliant experience, and even left us some 70th birthday goodies. Really kind and thoughtful team.
We went in winter, so the weather was cold and wet, but we had a lovely time there. The cabin is warm and comfortable, with enough space for a family of 5 to be happy in. We didn't get a chance to fire up the BBQ, as it was just too wet for that, but the setup seemed really good and the neighbours in the farm house are very friendly. The highlight for us was the access to the Tapnell Farm Park - we were there every day, I think. It's popular but not too crowded, and I really liked that the adults can take part rather than just having to sit back and watch the kids. The climbing wall, go-karts...more
6 Adults and 1 toddler stayed in the dairyman's cottage over Christmas, the cottage was well furnished, clean and comfortable. If we were looking for somewhere to stay on the Island in future we would definitely choose here again.
We started our IoW holiday at Tapnell Farm before heading elsewhere to camp. It’s a great location for exploring the SW part of the island, though we spent a load of time at the Park Farm; my youngest loved the Wallabies! We really enjoyed the view, and had great weather, so enjoyed it over breakfast as well as an evening fire.
