We’ve just come back from our second stay in a cabin at Tapnell Farm this year.
Such good value and easy accommodation for a few days away. Both times we’ve stayed have been for 4 nights. This time there was 1 adult 2 children, 13 & 9. We missed bringing our dog as she loved it before but will return with her.
The kitchens are well equipped with kettle, toaster, air fryer, hob, microwave.
Tapnell provide washing up liquid, cloths and sponges along with some tea towels. I was a bit surprised to see people keep opening new ones, personally we took one of each sponge and cloth and kept it in our own washing up bowl to use for our stay.
The kitchen area was key nice and clean.

Staying tips
- When it’s warm take a plug in fan as containers can get really hot inside.
- When it’s cold take an extra throw.
- The festoon lights inside are pretty but not very bright, take some extra lanterns.
- Take your own tea towels.
- Bring rubbish bags or carrier bags for your waste to go in the big bins.
- Take ingredients to make your own pizza, the Pizza oven on the other side of The cow is great fun for the kids.

The showers are great, hairdryers work well. Things I’d add if I could… mirrors by the hairdryers, a reflective mirrored hand dryer isn’t enough to see yourself.
More hooks and shelves. We used the hook on the back of the cubical door for our towels but anything that goes on the floor gets wet. A plastic or waterproof unit outside of the shower cubicles would be very useful.

I would love to be able to purchase some basics at the Hub, a small selection of things like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, multi pack of cereals? Then maybe bread, butter, milk, jam?
Tesco is only 5 mins away by car but a few bits available onsite would be perfect.

All in all a lovely stay, we’ll be back again soon to watch the beautiful sunsets.

We loved the variety of things to do at the farm and the quality of the provision. Lots to do for those with young ones (2-10 yrs). For those kids who are slightly older, the teenagers, there is not so much to get stuck into beyond a couple of hours on site, but our daughter still enjoyed it and spent time with her younger sister.

Accommodation is great, warm and we liked the novelty. The kitchen was stacked full of equipment, which made life so much easier. Loved all the signage throughout the site which outlined which guests should use what. The shower block was awesome for a camping site. Clean and showers which were not on a timer! Thank you!

There are minimal points for improvement, they are just niggly bits: hooks! Please can more hooks be installed throught out accommodation/kitchen/shower block - there was no where to hang belongings and no shelves to put things onto. This was a frustration when going to the shower block and is a quick win/simple fix. Same for the container. some hooks in there would be great. Last, which is a random one, but.. we've never found so hard to get the toilet paper out of a dispenser ;))))))) they were impossible in the shower block. Spent most of the time trying to carve out a piece of toilet paper, which would rip and then you'd have to try again and again, the dispensation was just rubbish! Crazy, but there you go :) Definitely not fit for purpose. Again, a quick one to fix.

Thank you otherwise and will definitely recommend.

The views are amazing and the facilities are really clean. We loved the fire pit and the sense of community with the other campers.

We wouldn’t stay again as we all didn’t sleep well on the plastic mattresses. Also you’re too close to the other cabins (our cabin was virtually adjoined to the next one) so we could hear them as if they were in our cabin!

We would however look at other accommodation options on the farm, as it was a lovely place to be.
