This is our second stay at the Wendy House- this time we brought grandparents who were very impressed. The views are beautiful and the accommodation is lovely- well equipped and comfortable. Our children always adore visiting Tapnell Farm and had endless fun on the pedal go carts, slides and guinea pig fishing!

We had an amazing stay at The Wendy House, it has everything you could wish for and so much more. Such a gorgeous huge house in a beautiful location, surrounded by fields on Tapnell Farm. Stunning views from every window. The photos don’t do it justice, it’s fabulous inside and out!
The park farm is definitely worth visiting, lots of lovely animals, so well looked after and things for children of all ages to do. We had a lovely lunch at The Cow, excellent food and service.

This was our fouth year of a family holiday at The Wendy House which speaks for itself. We love all aspects of the accomodation and particularly the secluded location. Our 6 year old grandson makes full use of the space and will be old enough next year to use the Water Park on site. Our family BBQ was perfect under the trees with spectacular views over the Solent. The staff at Tapnell Farm including the office staff were very helpful and a pleasure to meet. Already booked for next year.

The Wendy house is beautiful, sited in my favourite part of the farm.
As it would be considered an upside down house (bedrooms all downstairs) the views from the open plan kitchen/lounge area are fantastic. You can see the river Yar to the west, with Tennyson down standing proud in the distance. To the east the sprawling farm land is seen as far as the Newtown area. Everything you need is supplied and the house keeping team do an amazing job of ensuring the property is spotless on arrival. The farm nearly had squatters as my family did not want to leave !

5 minutes drive to the farm…but away from the crowds.

The Wendy House is in the middle of nowhere with huge floor to ceiling glass windows all around. The views are amazing. We walked to Tapnell most days and the kids loved it. The house was super family friendly with travel cots, a high chair, bath mat and lots of toys which the kids also loved. Kitchen had everything we needed (apart from oil which I forgot to buy!). We had an incredible stay and would definitely return and recommend to anyone. It is the countryside so there were a lot of spiders and woodlice, and it could definitely do with a big de-cobweb in high or deep places, although it was very clean apart from that. I also imagine it would get incredibly hot in the summer (it's like a greenhouse!) as we were there in March and it got to 28 degrees indoors. It's very hard to cool down without letting in all sorts of gnats and mosquitos, so I'd maybe only recommend staying between October-March!

We came for the February half-term weekend with our granddaughter, my brother and sister-in-law, and their two little ones — aged two and five — and it couldn’t have been more perfect for a family stay.

The property was incredibly easy and safe for toddlers. They had thought of absolutely everything — travel cots, safety gates, high chairs, and even a lovely selection of toys and games which completely wowed the children. It made such a difference arriving somewhere that genuinely caters for little ones.

The TV setup was brilliant too, with internet access so they could watch their favourite YouTube channels and BBC programmes — a real win for some calm moments!

For the grown-ups, luxury is the word. The kitchen was incredible, fitted with high-tech utilities and everything you could possibly need. The spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area on the top floor felt both cosy and beautifully airy at the same time — such a clever layout. The bedrooms were generously sized, comfortable and very easy to use as a family group.

The grounds were stunning. The children loved exploring, and we even spotted rabbits and pheasants — such a treat. It felt wonderfully safe, with no traffic, and you can see for miles, which gives you real peace of mind letting the little ones roam and enjoy themselves.

We would absolutely love to return in the summer to make even more of the garden and outdoor space. It’s a fantastic place for families — safe, spacious and thoughtfully designed in every way.

We were blest to be joined by numerous family members during our five day Christmas dream break.
Everything being immaculate on our arrival with the warmth and comfort enabling us to relish the fabulous "upside down" beautifully laid out space and the magical all round views of the downs, farmland and The Solent.

The Wendy House is just delightful. Incredibly well furnished, high standard fit out with all the kit you need. So spacious and a proper home from home. While it’s a bit pricey, you do get what you pay for.

The location is spectacular. Stunning views east and west mean amazing sunrises and sunsets. There’s also sea views and the design offers lovely seating areas for enjoying it all.

Access to Tapnel Farm is pretty convenient. It’s definitely worth taking the advised route to get there and avoid the horrible turn at the top of the lane. The farm park itself is great. Our 4yr old had a blast and we will keep coming back. It’s good up until at least 10-12 I reckon.

Staff are incredibly friendly, and thank you to Tom for our bread, butter and honey!

The property is as described by Tapnell Farm. It's well-equipped, spacious and clean. The large open-plan first floor living area means that children can play quietly within sight whilst not interrupting adult conversation in a second seating area. The huge windows afford great views across the countryside; however, their aspects mean the property can be very hot on return from sunny days out. There's plenty of space outside for children to run off their energy - much needed if they are early risers but some of the group want to lie in as the floor sound insulation isn't great.

If you need twin bed layouts do mention this explicitly in your booking/ communication with the farm. We booked for five adults and two children, but arrived to find all bedrooms set out as doubles.

Although it didn't affect us, if you have very small children you might want to check whether to bring your own crockery and cutlery; apart from a few plastic plates and tea spoons there didn't seem anything suitable for pre-school children.

We reported a couple of niggles on the day after our arrival. Unfortunately they weren't seen to as promptly as we would have liked.

The Wendy house and Tapnall Farm are both amazing. Idyllic location, everything you could need, well thought out - we had the most wonderful time.

The only issue we had was with cleanliness. The bedrooms, bedding, bathrooms etc were very clean and no issues but lots of the crockery (plates, bowls, glasses, oven trays) in the cupboards were dirty and it appeared the upstairs has not been given a deep clean (cobwebs on the windowsill, marks on the glass etc). It didn’t spoil our stay and wouldn’t prevent me from returning but it was an issue. The outside table was also not clean.

This was our third stay at the Wendy House as a family with our daughters and a now five year old grandson. Every time we feel at home and relaxed instantly and I am still playing football and flying a kite 'on demand' at 6am looking out over the Solent.....wonderful. Lawrence, our grandson, really loved the new additions at Tapnell Farm and is looking forward to returning next year as are we all.

Fantastic house for a multigenerational stay. We picked the Wendy House for a family Christmas and it was wonderful. A gorgeous hamper especially for Christmas was awaiting us on arrival. The main living area had wonderful comfy sofas and a huge TV along with a beautifully decorated tree. The open plan kitchen has was extremely easy to use and I had no problem in cooking for 8 people. Plenty of room and utensils to use. A great oven. (Rangemaster).The downstairs bedrooms were comfortable and cosy each with their own en-suites. Check-In was simple, house was spotless. Lots of information beforehand by email. Beautiful views, ample parking and walks on your doorstep. We didn’t go to Tapnell Farm as it was closed during our stay but have been there before and would highly recommend the Farm Park and The Cow Restaurant and all the great facilities that Tapnell has to offer. Would definitely return.

I booked the Wendy House for my husband & I and 2 x other couples for a wedding we were attending on the Isle of Wight. It totally exceeded our expectations: modern, well-appointed with everything we could need for our stay and stunning views. 3 x good sized bedrooms, all with en suites which made it perfect for a group of friends. Beautiful accommodation, visited with our 2 sons and their Partners and our Grandson, for a weeks stay. Was great us all having our own rooms with en-suite, and lovely open plan living area upstairs with great views.
The BBQ and charcoal provided were put to good use and we sat and watched the sun go down one evening.
There was a very large grassed area outside front and back to have a game of football and for our Grandson to run around.
The kitchen was very well equipped, plenty of plates, mugs, glasses and cutlery so you weren’t waiting for the dishwasher to finish!
There were board games if required, and some toys for little ones and some books if you fancied a read.
We had a couple of maintenance issues during our stay which were dealt with and resolved very promptly, these things happen.
We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend, hopefully we will be back soon

Just as wonderful for our stay as last year. The views are fantastic and the space outside and inside is perfect for a multi generational family as in our case. Tapnell Farm is a magnetic draw each visit for our grandson. Reccomend The Cow restaurant as well. Have already booked the Wendy House for next year and looking forward to our return.

M self and 7 friends stayed at the Wendy House for one night as a surprise celebration for our friend who gets married in a few weeks. The approach to the house is so beautiful and you really do get a sense of being in the middle of nowhere. There were oohs and aahs from the moment we opened the front door. There is a welcoming hallway with 3 large bedrooms on the ground floor each with their own en-suite. Beautifully decorated with high quality bed linen and towels. The light floods the stairway as you go up into the living space and the panoramic views are absolutely stunning. The kitchen is modern and was well equipped. The kitchen island and stools made a fab bar area and we were able to have the main table for food etc. The sitting area was cosy with plenty of space for everyone. The layout is very spacious and the addition of another bedroom with a sofa bed and en-suite was a real plus. This is a fabulous house in a fabulous location with fabulous views and I would highly recommend a stay if you are have a celebration with friends and family.

All in all an excellent property in an excellent location. Some pointers on things to consider: (1) House gets very hot during the day and fans ok at this time of year but would consider carefully going in hotter months (2) Windows in the living area should all be able to open / in working order - it is a key feature (3) The right turn from Broad Lane onto Newport Road (on journey to Tapnell Farm) is fairly daunting given the speed cars travel on Newport Road and the lack of visibility at the junction - could do with a mirror on opposite side of the road …

We loved our stay! Spacious house with fabulous views. 20 min walk to farm was ok for girls. Super peaceful and Chloe checked in a few times to make sure we were ok!

Only 2 small things….. getting back out onto the main road (turning right) feels so dangerous…. Not sure if one of those mirrors could be added to fhe road? Also …. Some blackout blinds would be amazing to stop kids waking so early!!!! (We brought our own travel ones and were v grateful for them!!)

We had an excellent stay at the Wendy house and are looking forward to returning. The property would benefit from the addition of a tumble drier. Icing on the cake would be a wood burning stove and hot tub like the ones in the dome meadow.

We had a fabulous time staying at The Wendy House, it was very well equipped, comfortable and in a secluded part of the farm. The views from the house were amazing. We had a very relaxing weekend. Thank you!

Loved The Wendy House. As a family we were really impressed with the property. It was very warm when we stayed and a few windows would have benefited from blinds. There was an outdoor umbrella but no way to put it up (the stand provided doesn’t fit) which would have been handy in the day. We did have a lot of mosquitoes in the rooms so feel a warning notice in the black book might be useful to others. All those aside we will be booking up again as we all agreed it made a lovely venue for a family who live in three different areas to meet for a family holiday.

A great holiday. Loved this barn. Incredible views. Big, comfy beds! It was beautiful, in a great location. Children used Tapnell Farm every day. The Cow fed us well! We think that the house could do with a few more toys for the children.
We loved our stay. The children think that a big painted cow at the entrance would look good! They are happy to design it! Thank you. We loved our stay.

A wonderful place to stay with 3 spacious double bedrooms and a large open plan living area looking over to the coast with all the equipment available for you to prepare food for everyone. We were staying with young children, so the child gate installed by the stairs was perfect to keep them safe. It looks like they are doing some work to improve the garden area, which will make it even more appealing for the summer months. All details prior to arrival were clear and we managed to find the barn easily, where there was ample parking. We will definitely be back next time visiting the Isle of Wight. Thanks for having us.

We have just returned from a wondeful break at the Wendy House with our grown up daughters and 3 year old grandson. Both the property and location are fantastic and with so much space and privacy overlooking spectacular views of the Solent even kite flying at 6 am was a joy! A great base to explore West Wight as well. We can't wait to return. We give this venue a 5 star rating without hesitation.

From the moment we booked we received great communication from our host. They responded quickly to any questions we had. We arrived at the Wendy House to find it set back from the road in stunning countryside. There were unspoilt views in al directions which included the Solent. The house is set over 2 floors with bedrooms on the ground floor and living space above. Every bedroom is ensuite and well laid out. The kitchen is modern with the option of eating at the breakfast bar or table. Tapmell Farm is nearby and there are plenty of walking options. We took the coastal path to the Needles. The only improvement we would make is proper blackout blinds/curtains in the bedrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.
