Elizabeth Castle is built on a tidal Island and is an amazing location for a family break in a unique historic property. We went to the Castle Apartment in January and enjoyed exploring the Castle and surrounding beaches. When the tide comes up you really do feel that you have got away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Apartment is very comfortable and clean with large rooms and a great kitchen. We found the wi-fi a little patchy but there are plenty of games to play and DVDs to watch to keep you entertained. Plus there is a whole Castle to explore! We've stayed at the ...more
A very Happy family holiday on Hamptonne Farm. Charming hostoric setting with pigs, calves and chickens to entertain children.
We loved our stay at Archirondel tower, we had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The kitchen was amazing with its brick ceiling and a dining table. I was surprised how warm and cosy the tower was in the middle of winter. The bedroom was so comfortable as was the bed and we loved the little windows all around the place. The 3rd floor lounge was brilliant with its log burner comfy couch and tv. The roof terrace was perfect for watching the stars at night and the sun rise in the morning. Perfect location for walks and a dip on the lovely bays. Overall it was a perfect weekend and w...more
This is our fourth time staying at Kemp Tower and we loved it. Grandchildren love playing and all the adults loved a good food and get together. We only had one issue with flies but I’m sure that can be rectified.
Great weekend with a very unique property The property was heated on arrival which was great and the fire in the big room was needed as it was a very cold day (3C). Very comfortable and well provisioned.
The cottage was warm, welcoming, clean, well equipped, well maintained, and very comfortable. Perfect, I would definitely recommend this place for a holiday.
Stayed over new year and enjoyed our time here. Good facilities, but do look carefully at the lay out - the single bedroom is accessed via the double bedroom, as is the toilet, unless it’s warm enough to walk round the outside. The furnishings are lovely and there were plenty of heaters to keep the place warm. The jigsaw puzzle was missing pieces but I am sure this will have been replaced before your stay! There is a private ‘courtyard’ to sunbathe in during the summer though we didn’t use it in Dec/Jan. A lovely setting.
Absolutely loved the place. Historic location with magnificent views and so quirky. Clean, warm and comfortable. Could have sat in the lounge area for ever watching the sea, birds, planes. Perfect
A lovely place for a few days, specially in autumn when the place is yours after five. Everyone has been friendly and helpul, online and on site (special thanks to Warren). The place is ideal and safe with kids. A powerful memories maker!
Another great stay at La Rocco tower. We were lucky with the weather. Sunset views from the top of the tower were stunning and clear skies for start gazing in the evening. Seeing quite a few shooting stars. Kayaking there and back was kept interesting with a little swell and a few waves on the beach. A top mini adventure.
We planned our wedding at Barge Aground with the support of Melissa Bartlett, the Heritage Weddings Co-ordinator and the administration team. Thank you for all your help, it was appreciated. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting. The views are stunning and we were so lucky to enjoy more than one beautiful sunset during our stay. The interior is cosy and the kitchen was spotless and had everything we required. Perhaps the only addition would be some sort of cork stopper to preserve an opened bottle of wine. The beds were comfortable and we were provided with more than sufficient pil...more
Fantastic support from Jersey Heritage. Gorgeous location. Only issue is the main room leaks terribly when it rains and is uninhabitable.
Trudie our guide was brilliant and I would recommend her we had a brilliant time. When we arrived I noticed the crockery and cutlery were icky (they had not been cleaned properly). Brick dust had been falling down and covered the top shelf in the kitchen (If another group had been in recently then they hadn't left the tower in a good state if however a group hadn't been in then I can see the wind had pushed this in). Cutlery and large items scapulars etc were in a mess. Trudie together with another member of my party and myself spent time cleaning and arranging them where they should go so...more
This was a perfect base for laid back beach life at St Ouens. Basic camping style accommodation, but kept you dry and out of the wind at night. Public toilets just a couple of mins walk away. Great storage space for surf boards and ideal for BBQs outside watching the sunset. If you cant take your own BBQ there is a decent one on site. Huge dining table on the ground floor, very atmospheric, but you will need lots of light, so take candles and lamps. Our UK /USA guests were very impressed they had access to an 18th century martello tower, so it was a big success.
