We had a lovely stay. The service was brilliant. We had a minor problem with the electrics and, even though it was already 9 pm, the electrician still came round. The Cider Festival was also taking place during our stay. That was a lovely experience too.
We stayed as a family of four this weekend and didn’t know how it would be given the weather forecast for storms. Have to say we needn’t be worried! Although we didn’t really get to enjoy the outside space and views, inside was cosy and felt very safe with the wind howling and waves crashing outside. Facilities were excellent, my teenagers actually commented on how good the shower was and found the pull out beds comfortable. Stairs were steep as expected, so take this in to account if booking.
6 of our Guernsey sea swimming group The Mental Tentacles wanted to experience a staycation in Jersey and Fort Leicester was available. The booking was very easy with good communication. We were pleasantly surprised at how well kept the Fort was, how clean and tidy and accommodating it felt. So lovely to have a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, bread & butter. Beds were really comfy. Access was up 30 steps and 10 or so steps between the 3 Fort levels. We swam each morning in the Bombay below us and either side are great trail runs. Would definitely stay again. Loved it!
The "dorm" style sleeping area might not suit every demographic, but for a bunch of lads catching up it was grand. The rest of the facilities are utterly excellent and it is a welcoming, but quirky venue offering every amenity.
I felt privileged to stay in this cottage which dates from the 18c. There are glass viewing panels in the ceiling so you can see up into the roof space and admire the very old beams. The views really are lovely, and from steps outside the cottage boundary you can quickly reach the promenade which leads to a lovely walk along to the lido, past some cafes and restaurants, and along sandy St Clements Bay. However, you can't walk into St Helier that way. A lovely apartment which was both comfortable and clean. All the staff were very helpful but with special mention for the Guardiens John and Warren. Totally enjoyed our stay..
Fantastic stay, incredible location with great facilities inside, have stayed before and will likely stay again but want to explore some other heritage options next
Loved our stay in the RD Tower. Beautiful sunsets and wonderful views. Great quirky place to stay, hosts were great with communication and making sure everything was ok.
Our second stay in this heritage site in St Ouens Bay did not disappoint. Since our last visit 6 years ago the Barge has had a bit of an upgrade which has definitely enhanced the overall comfort and functionality of the interior. Unfortunately our stay coincided with the build up to Storm Austen which tested out the heating but happily we found it to be more than adequate to maintain comfort, and to enjoy the wild weather to be witnessed from the cosy interior. Another great stay at La Rocco tower. We were lucky with the weather. Sunset views from the top of the tower were stunning and clear skies for start gazing in the evening. Seeing quite a few shooting stars. Kayaking there and back was kept interesting with a little swell and a few waves on the beach. A top mini adventure.
Don't expect comfort and luxury here, but in it's place you will have an experience you'll not forget. First off the walk out is easy, and on the level, although there is some water to wade through in places, but not deep, wellies will stay dry on the inside; it's about a mile to a mile and a quarter. Everything seems benign on arrival, with the sea some way away, it feels safe, it's alluring! There's plenty of time for some rock pooling, a visit across to Little Seymour, and a swim in the 'pool'. What an amazing location with an amazing view. It's not easy to get to, particularly as you need to bring all your camping equipment but well worth it. Just the perfect getaway.
Basic accommodation but good fun. Beautiful sunsets and lovely beaches around the Tower. Lovely walks. Enjoyed our stay.
