We always enjoy our time at Elizabeth Castle. Wonderful to enjoy the castle in the mornings and evenings when it is quieter. So nice to have a little break without having to get a plane or ferry off the island. Really recommend it.
The cider barn was really well fitted with the right amount of rural charm! We had a lovely time in the grounds on the evening and enjoyed a walk around the orchard. It was peaceful so we slept well, the rooms are comfortable. The site guardien in the morning was cheerful and allowed us to help him feed the chickens, which was a definite highlight. Would definitely stay again and recommend it for all. Booking was easy and the staff were very helpful.
This was a return trip to Archirondel Tower and I hope it won’t be the last! The setting is stunning. A wonderful escape!
Amazing facilities. Spotless. So well equipped. We couldn’t fault the facilities or the view. Highly recommended
Every we needed for a weekend stay with friends was available. The property is thoughtfully equipped and comfortable.
We come from the beautiful Emmental region in Switzerland and are used to cleanliness and beautiful scenery. We were all the more surprised by the island of Jersey. The landscape is so diverse, the houses are so unique, and the people seem so incredibly friendly and content. We found the Fisherman's Cottage right away by car. We received excellent support from RÓISIN Jersey Heritage. Since it was our first time, we had many questions, and every one, no matter how specific, was answered patiently and very kindly. Such helpful and competent advice is rare, so many thanks to RÓISIN! We can on...more
While lucky with the weather, the site, the facilities and the general quirkiness of the fort were a delight, both for the adults and two boys (11 and 12). We used the main room one evening, the rest of the time we were outside as the walls kept us sheltered from a brisk wind. Would definitely go again.
We had a great stay at the Radio Tower. The steps are not for the faint hearted but you know that before you book. The view at the top is stunning. We could not wait to get back to it each evening. Everything is well thought out and essential needs provided for. We managed fine without a washing machine/dryer. When we had a small problem Jersey Heritage gave excellent customer service and they responded positively to all feedback. Having the Corbiere Phare restaurant next door was an added bonus. We think a sofa facing towards the lighthouse would enhance and we would have loved a dumb waiter ...more
The family had a wonderful and unique stay at The Stables which is within the Hamptonne Country Life museum. The staff were really friendly and the flat was a great home from home. We helped feed the chickens, sheep and pigs every morning. Ideal for anybody with a love of animals and don’t mind a rooster as an alarm clock. We would definitely stay here again.
Another great stay at La Rocco tower. We were lucky with the weather. Sunset views from the top of the tower were stunning and clear skies for start gazing in the evening. Seeing quite a few shooting stars. Kayaking there and back was kept interesting with a little swell and a few waves on the beach. A top mini adventure.
We had the most wonderful week at Barge Aground. It was the most perfect location for our stay with our dog. We walked every morning and evening along the long beach with our dog and explored in the day, the perfect local. So great to return each evening to the Beautiful Barge Aground, it was wet a few days and we found we needed to put some gentle heating on to take away the damp air in the building but within a short period it was sorted. Couldn't recommend enough !
Trudie our guide was brilliant and I would recommend her we had a brilliant time. When we arrived I noticed the crockery and cutlery were icky (they had not been cleaned properly). Brick dust had been falling down and covered the top shelf in the kitchen (If another group had been in recently then they hadn't left the tower in a good state if however a group hadn't been in then I can see the wind had pushed this in). Cutlery and large items scapulars etc were in a mess. Trudie together with another member of my party and myself spent time cleaning and arranging them where they should go so...more
For a basic stone building this is a phenomenal location, with stunning views across the north coast and to France. It is not 5 star luxury, but it is 5 star adventure.
Basic accommodation but good fun. Beautiful sunsets and lovely beaches around the Tower. Lovely walks. Enjoyed our stay.
