Beautiful location and once shown where the fishing beat was, was able to enjoy the fly fishing. The Stables is a beautiful holiday property with a very high standard of furnishings and fittings which made for a very comfortable stay. Fortunately we only bought one car as the parking is a little limited if there are guests staying in the adjoining property. Our gratitude to both the owners and housekeepers for their prompt communication prior to and throughout our stay.
We've visited Northumberland before staying in Wooler just up the road and it is just as lovely such a relaxing holiday with good weather and visiting various places.mark and Kate gave us everything we needed.
Stayed at Blakey House for a wedding and had a fabulous time in the cottage. I do have some minor pieces of feedback to share for the owners, but overall this was a great stay. There were so many nice spots to sit down with a book, and it was just a shame we didn't get to spend more time there since we were busy all weekend with wedding celebrations! Feedback for the owners: 1. The outdoor table and chairs were very difficult to get to, especially for less-mobile relatives. We had a cosy, comfortable stay in this very stylishly decorated, and very clean cottage. Very well located for visiting local NT and English Heritage properties, it even has its own Priory at the bottom of the lane - got to try out the fantastic singing acoustic! Cragside is a must and within 10 minutes, Lindisfarne and beaches only an hour away. We hadn’t appreciated how busy the road directly outside the cottages is, and given that the cottage has Gr 2 listed single-glazed windows, road noise was a slight issue in the front bedroom. The cottage is located in the grounds of the Priory and Manor House and its location allows easy access to many beautiful places to visit. Perfect for a peaceful getaway.
A beautiful well designed cottage. Great location, spotlessly clean with great quality linen. I Highly recommend the cottage.
