What a great environment to enjoy a holiday! Superb accommodation in Gitcombe Retreat - a wonderfully designed building with magnificent views and privacy. The grounds are excellent (challenging in terms of gradient!) and the indoor swimming pool is a great facility - a website controlled booking system for the pool would be helpful though (instead of wipe board) to avoid any possible misunderstandings and frustration! A great family holiday and we were only home one day before we booked again for next year!
Gitcombe was such a beautiful place and the owner takes real pride in its up keep and welcoming guests! We had such a lovely holiday and as it only has 8 cottages it’s never busy so we were able to enjoy all the facilities to ourselves each day! Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Fantastic location, property and facilities. Very keen to come again. The play area and pool/spa were very well maintained and the location was spectacular.
Great location and excellent house for entertaining a large group. Lots to do and see in the area. Tennis and play areas for the kids very good. We were lucky was not busy when we stayed so had exclusive use of the fantastic indoor pool.
What an incredible place! My little one didn’t want to come home. We spent a lot of time around the cottage due to the two amazing pools, hot tub, sauna and play areas. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed for a 3 and 1 year old (cot, changing mat, high chair, toddler toilet seat, bed guard and baby bath) There was even buckets, tennis rackets and crabbing equipment to borrow. Peter and Emma were so helpful, we will definitely be back!
Well equipped cottage in good condition with lots of great facilities for young kids. Well located for lots of activities.
We had a lovely week at Gitcombe staying in Yennadon Barn. The site was perfect for children and an absolutely beautiful location. We used the indoor pool and soft play area every day and the booking rota mostly worked well. Yennadon was lovely but we found the living area a touch small for two boisterous kids (we did suspect in advance it might be cosy for us but it was the only property available). Would have been fine in summer with the doors open to the balcony but a little restrictive in Autumn. Otherwise it was lovely although a little attention needed in the kitchen and one of the bedro...more
Our family of 4 (kids aged 5 & 8) enjoyed an idyllic long weekend at Gitcombe and have already recommended it to many friends and family. The estate is beautifully maintained, stylish and luxurious. The kids would have spent the whole times flitting between the indoor pool, hot tub, outdoor pool and play area if we'd let them but we did manage to lure them away a few times and enjoyed a fun-filled day at Woodlands Adventure Park (only 8mins away in the car) and a fabulous fresh seafood lunch overlooking the boats at the Anchorstone Cafe in super pretty Dittisham - An absolute MUST on a sunny ...more
