Another exceptional stay at Gitcombe! We’ve been lucky enough to visit many times before, but this trip was made extra special with a dream stay in The Retreat, where we were able to welcome our wider family for the day and make some very special memories together. As always, the level of cleanliness and attention to detail was exceptional, with everything maintained to the highest standard. Gitcombe really is our happy place. We absolutely love Gitcombe and can’t wait to return. Thank you for another unforgettable stay. ❤️
A wonderful location with indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub with a great view, a spacious house with all equipment needed and more, great for holiday with extended family.
We had a brilliant stay in Garden House, Gitcombe. The facilities are really excellent, both pools were exactly the right temperature and the views from the hot tub were just beautiful. The local countryside is lovely, so much birdlife (I heard bunting, skylarks, buzzards, ravens and linnet for example). We even saw some glow worms which was very exciting! The owners were so friendly and helpful with suggestions for the local area. We had a wonderful staying at Gitcombe. The cottage was every bit as lovely as it looked in the photos and the pool was a big hit with my children! Blackpool Sands is a must!!
As a family of 4 (7 year old and 4 year old children), we have returned to Gitcombe for many years. This year was our favourite (despite the weather having turned a little!). We explored more of Dartmouth, Totnes and Salcombe. It’s the loveliest, child friendly, location to be based to explore surrounding Devon. The cottages are excellently equipped and the customer service is wonderful. Thank you, Emma, for being so accommodating.
An idyllic location with immaculately cared for properties. Swimming pools playground and lots of safe open space makes it perfect for a relaxing family holiday. Lovely hosts.
The emails received before arrival are very detailed and informative. They include details of your property, directions on how to get there (including alternative routes to avoid narrow lanes) and lots of suggestions of things to do in the surrounding area. There are also details of contacts to make your visit extra special. This was our 2nd visit to Gitcombe, staying in a different cottage. The Coach House was extremely well presented. Lovely place to stay with the family. Houses are properly equipped with anything you need, even for toddlers.
We had a fabulous family holiday here in Gitcombe staying in the Haytor cottage. We were extremely lucky with the weather and so were able to make use of all the exceptional facilities including the outdoor pool, tennis courts, jacuzzi and children's play park. The indoor pool was also excellent especially when the sun was too hot at midday. Peter and his team keep the grounds impeccably. The facilities are very good.
