We recently had ferry issues while trying to leave Islay, which left us stranded late at night with no where to go. We rang other places but no one wanted to help because of the lateness and also because we only needed 1 night. We rang here and explained our predicament and they came to our aid instantly. We were given a place to stay and clear and concise instructions on which accommodation was ours. Even apologising that no one would be there to welcome us. We cant thank them enough for the help they gave us. The location and accommodation are truly beautiful, we even had a private sauna!! w...more
I had booked the entire cottage property for my son's wedding for 3 days. The location was perfect with its natural surroundings and its proximity to the Boturich Castle. The amenities were modern. The host guide book had informative tips on local eateries and conveniences. Dave the owner was super friendly and very accommodating to our needs. The cottages were spotless and well maintained. All in all a perfect setting for our family and friends who came from all parts of the world. They loved it.

Fabulous accommodation & amenities. We were all pleasantly surprised by how beautiful clean and well equipped the accommodation was. Each room was clean tidy and inviting. More than enough space for the 6 of us! Loved the log fire and outdoor area. Honestly can’t fault it one bit
This was our 2nd visit to the cottages, absolutely amazing cottages. Loved the hot tub. Lady in office so friendly and welcoming. Cottage was beautiful, loved the views from windows across the countryside. Walks as soon as you come out of gate, 5min down drive and you are on loch lomond. Will be back.
Cottage had everything you needed. Good base for accessing other locations on Loch Lomond and more local walks around the farm with the dog. Log burner was excellent.
We arrived at the cottage which is lovely and in a great location to find the door locked. I had emailed the day before asking for check in instructions with no reply. I had to phone the number provided on the email... No answer but someone did call me back quickly. An email beforehand with lock box number would of course be better. The cottage was very cold on arrival (Mid October) to be expected but it would have been nice if the heating were on a timer so we came into a warm house especially with the later check in time of 5pm. On reading the guest information we discovered that we'd have t...more

We needed to break up a journey south and Ivy Cottage was a great little place. Communication from the accommodation was spot on. We would like to stay longer next time and explore the area more!

In the area for a family event which became a short break. Auchendennan was superb!! The cottage was everything that was needed - open Lounge, dining, kitchen, bathroom with walk-in shower and a decent double bedroom. The patio doors opening onto the grass were perfect for our four legged guest. The cottage was very clean with everything you could need in the kitchen (hob, oven, grill, microwave, kettle, toaster etc). The wood burner was a nice touch, although not really needed in October as the central heating kept the place very cosy! Staff were superb. Auchendennan is in an area whic...more
We booked out every property for our wedding guests in April and we would highly recommend Auchendennan Farm. Angela, James and the whole team are so kind, helpful and relaxed. Every property was in super condition, clean, the location is fantastic and we would definitely return for our own holiday!
Just a quick stay for us - the accommodation had everything we needed. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and lovely & warm on a wet autumn night. Hopefully we'll return & explore more of the beautiful area around Loch Lomond.
Stayed here for one night on our long journey up from Manchester to the Highlands. Lovely quiet spot on the outskirts of Balloch, close to the country park and Castle where we went with our dogs. Parking was plentiful and check-in very easy. Essential coffee, tea and milk were provided which was ideal for our one night stop over. Only downside to the location was the spotty network but nothing in the control of the accommodation owners.
The Courtyard Suite was very comfortable, clean and spacious, and in an excellent location for exploring the Loch Lomond area. The parking spaces were also generous, our stay was peaceful, and communication was excellent; we appreciated the phone call on the day of arrival to inform us of the check-in process.
