From start to finish, all was excellent and wonderful: the communication with Nick and James, the proprietors, their welcome, the absolutely lovely location and building(s) ...We six (60 plus women) stayed in the Miller's House (4 bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area and a living room) and were very comfortable. I booked Mill Race Cottage for a bit of peace & quiet for me and a spot of fishing for the hubby and it all lived up to our expectations. The cottage had everything we needed and more. Nick and James welcomed us and looked after our home comforts, ensuring the heating was on and we knew where to find extra blankets etc. Little touches like leaving tea, coffee, milk and cookies were much appreciated. They explained where the best place to fish was and the layout of the site. Strongly recommend you download the app for a guide to to the cottage. There is an on site gym and a games room with ac...more
I reckon in the last 20 years we have stayed at about 100 Country Cottages . Mendham Mill would be a FIVE STAR PLUS , it must be the best we have ever stayed at . James and Nick go out of their way to make you comfortable and nothing is too much trouble . We will certainly book again .

The electronic guide to the cottage and surrounding areas sent by James and Nick contained lots of useful information and we went along with many of the recommendations. We enjoyed our food delivery from Pink Tiffin; sampled the delig...more
