The Nookery is owned by Amanda and Paul. They live next door and are the most welcoming hosts. The cottage is perfect, everything catered for, and very dog friendly. Lovely and warm and an extra log burner if needed. Highly recommend, we had a lovely time and would definitely return.
Forge cottage served as a perfect location for us. Bus stop, pubs, sainsburys, station, walks and playground were all an easy walkable distance away. The accommodation worked well for us, two one parent families, meaning each family had a bedroom. The facilities, in our opinion were above and beyond what you would normally expect in a holiday let. From small gestures like hand soap at every sink to clothes washing capsules. Even fury friends were thought off (not that we had a dog!). Would recommend to family and friends without a doubt.
Communication from Pennine Ways prior to trip excellent. A very well equipped cottage which is decorated to a high standard. A Co-op a short walk away. The Golden Lion (3 minutes away) serves hearty meals and is friendly. A very relaxing, stress free place to stay.
The cottage was so so clean and tidy. The bedrooms and bathroom were especially lovely with wonderful views of the hills from both bedroom windows. Everything was immaculate and it was good to know the owners were next door just incase anything else was needed. A wonderful place.to stay.
We stayed for 4 nights with 6 other adults and 8 kids ranging from 2 months to 6, and Bridge End House was the perfect spot for us - spacious, elegant without being pretentious and very practically set up for large groups. A 7 min drive to Haltwhistle (we recommend the outdoor pool!) but it felt remote and there is a wonderful outlook from the large garden (well equipped for kids with a box of garden toys). We would definitely stay again!
Such a gorgeous 3 night stay in the cottage. There were 5 of us and a small dog. The bedrooms are delightful, I fell in love with the yellow one. Everything you could need was available in the kitchen as we cooked in and had dinner at the pub next door (great food) Cosy log burner, 2 big sofas so plenty of room to relax. Lovely soft white towels. Perfect spot for walking, gorgeous views, saw dear from the back garden. Just next to visitor centre which has a great cafe. Brewery also lovely just along from the cottage. Sad to leave this wee haven and would love to return.
Everything was clean, tidy and as described. We parked one car at the front, and one in the back yard. If you're tall take care on the stairs - duck or grouse. Good communication with Linda, the owner.
Great Location right on the pennine way with Cafe & Local Pub (Stag Inn) very close. Lots of stunning walks (short strolls to long hikes) straight from the door, plus we used it to get more into the Lakes also. A very comfortable, well equiped cottage with plenty of space for 6. Lovely 1st floor lounge to chill in during the evening whilst reviewing the excellent table map and other reading material. Highly recommend and i'd certainly like to go back. There is just loads more to do :-)
We stayed here for three nights due to it's location to Hadrian's Wall (10 mins from Housesteads and Vindolanda). The cottage is spacious and feels large mainly due to the ground floor being open plan making it light inside. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything one could want and clearly a lot of thought has gone into its presentation (not old tat from some house clearance sale). The three bedrooms all have very comfortable beds. Out the back is a lovely courtyard garden which gets the sun into the evening. The cottage is on a quiet road and only two doors away from the local Hote...more
Absolutely beautiful apartment in an outstanding area. Extremely well stocked kitchen which was a real benefit for me as I was living there whilst renovations were taking place on my property! Comfy beds, very clean and beautifully designed. This area is wonderful - I moved here so it is well worth a visit!
Lovely cottage, perfect for 3 adults and 3 teenagers. Two separate living rooms is ideal: the teenagers can play, laugh and make noise in one room, the adults can talk, laugh and make the same noise in another room. Bedrooms/bathrooms are nice, well equipped kitchen.
Tucked behind the main street.it provided a great starting point for exploring the main street ( loved Bonnies, a down to earth quality cafe ) and the hills surrounding this small town Do not miss out on the excellent and very welcoming leisure centre
Lovely old building in the heart of Alston , Georgian elegance with modern facilities. Light airy living spaces with a real fire . Two delightful bedrooms, comfortable beds with crisp bedlinen .Great selection of shops , cafes and Pubs all within walking distance, the agents that manage the property are based in shop below, very helpful.
