The cottage was immaculately presented with everything you would need for staying there. Wonderful views from the front windows or from the seats and bench outside. Very clean kitchen, sitting room, dining room, bath room and bedrooms. The rain shower in the bath was particularly good with very good water power. The location was excellent for any areas of Weardale with good road links and local buses to Stamhope and Alston.
Holiday cottage in a great location for walking or relaxing. Walks range from short strolls to more energetic hikes. The accommodation has lovely views from the lounge and bedrooms. Good quality cookware and tableware. Local pub is welcoming and has good food. We all enjoyed our stay.

The Nookery is owned by Amanda and Paul. They live next door and are the most welcoming hosts. The cottage is perfect, everything catered for, and very dog friendly. Lovely and warm and an extra log burner if needed. Highly recommend, we had a lovely time and would definitely return.
Great amenities and position a really friendly town . Cannot praise it enough. Great response from holiday letting company
Everything about our stay at Lily's Cottage was brilliant. The cottage was so comfortable and well equipped, beautifully clean and welcoming and such good value for money. I didn't want to leave as the location was simply stunning.
Beautiful house. Great facilities. Kitchen had everything we needed. Second dishwasher was a great idea. The location cannot be matched. However remember to check the pub opening hours and take cash.
This is a very well equipped and beautifully presented cottage with ample room for 6. We especially liked that all bedrooms were ensuite. Everything looked quite new and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery. We loved the wood burner in the lounge. Our hostess left us milk, biscuits and a complimentary bottle of wine which was very nice. We would have given 5 out of 5 for comfort but the weather was extremely cold when we were there and although the heating had been turned on before we arrived it took almost 24 hours to get to 21 degrees and as it is a an old property perhaps in winte...more
We stayed here for three nights due to it's location to Hadrian's Wall (10 mins from Housesteads and Vindolanda). The cottage is spacious and feels large mainly due to the ground floor being open plan making it light inside. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything one could want and clearly a lot of thought has gone into its presentation (not old tat from some house clearance sale). The three bedrooms all have very comfortable beds. Out the back is a lovely courtyard garden which gets the sun into the evening. The cottage is on a quiet road and only two doors away from the local Hote...more
Positives..perfect location, comfy lounge, comfy beds, modern well stocked kitchen, plenty of hot water and heat, loads of firewood. Negatives..no hoover, no tea tray, heating controls took a bit of working out. Overall, 5 of us had a brilliant time and I would recommend.
Absolutely beautiful apartment in an outstanding area. Extremely well stocked kitchen which was a real benefit for me as I was living there whilst renovations were taking place on my property! Comfy beds, very clean and beautifully designed. This area is wonderful - I moved here so it is well worth a visit!
We had a great stay in this cottage it had everything you would need. The location is excellent and easy to park car nearby. The two bed / two bathroom aet up is excellent for two couples and greatly appreciated it. Definitely would stay again
Lovely old building in the heart of Alston , Georgian elegance with modern facilities. Light airy living spaces with a real fire . Two delightful bedrooms, comfortable beds with crisp bedlinen .Great selection of shops , cafes and Pubs all within walking distance, the agents that manage the property are based in shop below, very helpful.
Main concern was the damp, the overwhelming smell as we entered the cottage. Bedroom wall headboard side was running with wet through out our stay. The dehumidifiers that were in the kitchen moved to the bedroom helped very little. Had to dry pillows on radiators during the day. Kitchen was poorly equipped could not properly cook Whirlpool bath did not work, as there was no welcome book were unaware that it was never going to work after considerable time trying to get it to work Did report these matters to the office who said they were aware of these issues Great location, just...more
