We really enjoyed our stay at Mere View Loft. Warm and cosy on arrival and in a perfect location with lovely views. Apartment had everything and more that we needed to make our stay perfect. Would definitely visit again and recommend this lovely property. This is our 4th time that we've booked through Tarn and Fell and Ross yet again was professional and helpful responding almost immediately with any questions we had. Looking forward to our next stay at another property in September.
Heather Mere cottage is an absolute gem. It felt like being in a high end hotel with the addition of having your own home within it. Ross and the team were very helpful and approachable. The provision of milk, tea, coffee etc made life very easy on arrival and there were little treats which were a lovely surprise, as was the provision of dog bowls etc for our little pooch. The toiletries in the bathroom were excellent. It is a short 5 minute walk down into Bowness and its water front which is stunning and provides lots of great eateries for anything from breakfast to dinner. You should try ...more
You can enjoy this house whether it is blowing a gale outside or the sun is shining. Beautifully appointed. A treat to stay in.
What a beautiful house, we have just had the best family weekend staying at Oakland West. It was perfect, the house has everything you need and more, very spacious, you dont feel on top of each other the bedrooms are all a decent size and very well equipped, the beds are the most comfortable Ive ever slept in. the garden is gorgeous with beautiful views. Ross is amazing, very kind and responsive, we cant wait to go back I would highly recommend this house.
I booked a long weekend stay in Ambleside through Tarn & Fell escapes and my expectations were thoroughly exceeded. Prior to our stay I had a few questions about the property and Ross could not have been more helpful. He was happy to help with any query I had and it made the booking process and our stay much more enjoyable. I was particularly impressed with the location of the property, it was situated right in the town centre of Ambleside which was perfect as we visited on a very busy bank holiday weekend, so it made things a lot more convenient that we could walk 5 mins from the property...more
Great stay at Dizzy Ducks, lovely lodge on a well maintained site within easy reach of the villages in the South Lakes. The lodge was spotless and extremely well equipped. There is an entertainment centre and a pool in site which appeared to be very popular. Ross at the Tarn & Fell Escapes was very helpful and i would recommend the company and a stay at the lodge
We had a magnificent stay at edge mare celebrating a 70th birthday. We were a family of 4 adults and a 10 month Old baby. The apartment is so brilliantly furnished for a young baby and the words going “above and beyond” really ring true. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. From the free parking, to sky sports to a magical Christmas tree to baby bowels/ spoons to a gorgeous fire to high quality furnishings, edge mare really has it all. Thank you to Ross and the team for being so accommodating and making a special Birthday even better. We hope to be back in the future . Olive...more
My family and I have just arrived home following a fabulous long weekend break at Smithy Cottage. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is perfectly designed and the living room is beautifully decorated. Each of the 3 bedrooms are very comfortable. The cottage sits on the edge of the beautiful village in a perfect position with the garden a perfect suntrap in the afternoon.
Pros + Cottage is located in a lovely and peaceful location surrounded by nature, but also not too far from nearby Coniston to feel isolated. So many local walks and things to do and see. + The Cottage is very cosy, especially at night, with the fire crackling away. + Has everything you need for a weeks stay to make your own meals + Private access to the lake is a great bonus for anybody into swimming / water sports + Beds were comfy + Instructions for appliances and general cottage guide was well thought out + Great selection of games, books, DVDs and maps to browse through Cons -...more
We had a lovely stay at Pottery Gate with our two dogs. The house was extremely clean and really lived up to the photos. The location is brilliant and easy driving distance from fabulous walks as well as walking distance from all the amenities you could need. It’s important to note that although you get a permit for one car, a space isn’t guaranteed so we did have to do a bit of walking from our car parking space to get to the house which was a bit awkward with two dogs and bags on arrival and we had to make several trips from the car and back. Finding the house was easy, although I did have s...more
Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting, in a picturesque little conclave of old farm buildings. Perfectly quiet and relaxing. The owners left an amazing welcome pack, and all fuel for the stove for the duration of our stay - and gave us a warm personal welcome. The beds were extremely comfortable. Luggage trips up and down the steps weren't really a problem - good way to keep fit. But would definitely bring less next time! In all, we had such a lovely stay. We've been coming to the Lake District for 13 years, staying in a different place each time; this was by far our happiest stay.
Lovely, very well equipped property. Perfect for the 6 adults in our party. Easy access to walks, Ambleside and Hawkshead and a pub in walking distance. Thoroughly enjoyed our week.
Lovely small cottage in great location. Immaculately clean and well equipped kitchen. Tight driveway / down a narrow back road but this was communicated by the host in advance. Only negative was that we found the mattress uncomfortable.
This was our 3rd time at Whitecross bay (although the first time using Tarn & Fell), and this was the best lodge yet! The location was really quiet, and relatively private for a park like this. The lodge was really well equipped with everything you need, and felt very comfortable - like a home from home. My only suggestion would be to consider screening behind the hot tub for a bit more privacy although the area was so quiet it wasn't much of an issue.
A little a gem of a place, fully equipped with everything you would need to make the stay comfortable. Home from home. Beautiful location with fantastic transport links.
The directions to Brathay Fell were clear and it was easy to find. The instructions to collect the keys were straightforward and the process was seamless. We did, however, struggle for about ten minutes to unlock the apartment door but once in we got settled quite quickly. The apartment is beautifully decorated with a spacious open plan living and kitchen area. The home had everything that we needed and we enjoyed our stay for the week. There is a gate at the back of the garden that gives access to the hiking trail behind the house to get spectacular views over the area.
Lovely host, very clean and high quality. Location not great as quite isolated. But beautiful views. Great value for money.
