I was lucky enough to win a week's free stay in a social media competition. This gave us the opportunity to visit the beautiful Lake District.

From the outset the communication from Tarn snd Fell Escapes was excellent and all instructions and vital information was clear.

The cottage is situated in the centre of Hawkshead which makes it convenient for the pubs, cafes and shops in the village. A bus stop is also nearby. Parking is provided by way of a permit in a carpark in the village.

The cottage is beautifully maintained, well stocked with essentials and really clean. I can't fault it.

Smithy Cottage is in a very quiet location in Hawkshead. It is spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need for self-catering. The bedrooms are large and the beds are extremely comfy. A lovely enclosed paved area at the front of the cottage is ideal for relaxing in the evening after a day walking in the fells.
Ross was very helpful and quick to respond to a couple of queries we had before we booked.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Smithy Cottage and in Hawkshead.

A wonderful cottage in a delightful village location. Loved the attention to the little details including Dog biscuits and candles for a Birthday cake incase you forgot!! Highly recommend a stay here.
