Luxuriously appointed award winning holiday accommodation in a courtyard setting, The Mews, The Old Smithy and The Retreat can sleep upto 15 guests between them. Located in the village of Hollington, near Ashbourne, we have hot tubs, pet sheep to chat to and are dog friendly too. A village pub just a stroll down the lane is also a bonus.
This was our 5th stay, the 4th in The Mews at Hall Farm. I hope that says enough about this delightful gem in the Derbyshire countryside. We’ve been visiting since our sons were young and this visit was with them and their girlfriends and our 2 Jack Russel dogs. Hollington is a peaceful rural hamlet/village, is located close to Ashbourne. There’s plenty to do, see or visit nearby in all directions. Philippa is an attentive, delightful host, will do everything to make sure your stay is a happy one, and we were all delighted to meet Margot and Stanley. (Philippa’s dogs). Our third visit was just as good as our previous visits. Spacious, clean, well equipped, dog friendly and Philippa is the perfect hostess. The garden is very secure for our dog. We enjoyed a Sunday roast. at the Red Lion Inn which is just a few minutes walk away in Hollington. The pies are good at the pub as well. Hollington is well placed for getting into the Peak District and other surrounding areas. We went to Dovedale, Chatsworth and the Tissington trail.
The Old Smithy is a lovely cottage which has everything you need. The decor has been done to a high standard and looks very homely. The beds are very comfy and freestanding bath upstairs was amazing. Philippa is hands on if you need anything & pops in to check everything is ok. We were very warm & cosy as the weather was not too great. I would highly recommend this cottage or The Mews which is bigger as the rest of family were staying in there and that was just as amazing on a bigger scale to anyone. Hopefully we will be back in the future. Thank you again.
