What a truly magnificent spot to place a very special lodge. Open plan Kitchen /Dining/Lounge has fully appreciated a simply breathtaking view with Windows across the whole front area. What a joy to see this very special place from such comfort and style. Wildlife and Walking surroundings are absolutely amazing. Some beautiful small towns to visit make this a special place and if you are as fortunate as we were with constant sunshine and wonderful skies a spectacular time awaits.
We enjoyed the comfort of the sofas and the beds and the bathrooms were good, with excellent showers. The space is light and the situation is peaceful. There are walks from the door, which we enjoyed. On a clear night there were so many stars and the bird feeder attracted a great spotted woodpecker, nuthatch, tree creeper, great tits and chaffinches - the binoculars were a nice touch. This is a get-away-from-it-all sort of place. The heating was okay but didn't seem to be set up in the best way for an air source heat pump. We love staying in these lodges - and this is our third visit. We have family in the area and have rented lots of accommodation over the years but none as amazing as Gatehouse Lodges. Huge comfy beds. Modern well equipped lodges. Fantastic views. What more do you want!
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Silver Birch. From the time we booked we were given relevant information and helpful guides about the property and what to do in the area and any questions were answered quickly. The lodge is stunning and has views over the countryside to the water. It had everything we needed for our stay and was a good base for exploring the area. We could even bring our EV as it has a charging point which was a bonus.
