This lovely cottage in the village of Askrigg is a wonderful place to stay. It is clean, comfortable and in an ideal location for sight seeing and for walking the many field paths and tracks from the doorstep. The scenery in the area is very varied with meadows, dry stone walls, rivers, waterfalls and moors. Wensleydale is a calm relaxing area for walking as well as visiting the Hawes Countryside Museum, Gayle Mill, Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle.
I found the hosts to be very friendly and available locally if any problems arose. The cottage is extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The outside seating area is completely private and a real bonus. The only criticism I would make is the heating system was quite difficult to use as it is controlled by use of a mobile phone provided by host. I eventually managed to use it but an easier method would in my opinion be better. However this said I would strongly recommend this cottage and would definitely consider booking again.
