I have now stayed at Wharton Lodge cottages many times and, as always, Nicky and George were extremely friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Harewood cottage was immaculate as always and despite the very hot weather the hanging baskets in the courtyard looked wonderful. This is an excellent location to visit the beautiful countryside and towns and cities nearby. I will definitely be making a return visit as soon as I can. Helen
There is a wonderful kind of slowing that Wharton Lodge encourages (which may be reflected in the tardiness of this review; the slower vibe has stayed with me, despite the usual busyness of life taking over, once home again). At the same time it quietly invites you to explore different places and try new experiences. And there is plenty to see and do in this stunningly beautiful area. Another stay in Elgar. A beautifully appointed cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. As always, Nicky and George were wonderfully welcoming hosts. Despite the drought, the walled garden looked splendid: a lovely spot to sit and relax. And the parkland is an interesting area to walk round. Lots to do snd see in the surrounding countryside. We are looking forward to our next visit.
