The best things about the room was the very large shower, large bed and the biscuits! It was quiet and peaceful.
We had the most relaxing stay at Coorie Braw, so many Lovey touches, Rae and Justin have thought about everything, beds very super comfortable and the place was spotless!! Would highly recommend this place, we will definitely be returning.
Stayed the week here with family and friends, couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more. The location and stunning views were just beautiful. All the facilities in the house were faultless. We will deffo recommend in the future :)
My stay at Fyne Rooms was perfect, comfortable, clean, stylish rooms in a great location in the centre of Tighnabruaich village. Could not ask for more, we will be back!
Always stay here we are in Scotland. It’s very convenient for lots of places to visit. The cottage is lovely and the views from the bedrooms are lovely. Lots of things to do in the area. This visit we went over to Bute and visited the Alpacas. We all loved it.
An excellent, cosy cabin to escape from the world, yet located in an area with so much to do. The host was super easy to contact, communicate with and provided limitless help and information. The hot shower and comfy beds topped it off. Cannot recommend enough.
Wonderful location beside the Kyles of Bute. Plenty to see and explore nearby and in Cowal generally, including Bute (one ferry) and even Arran (two ferries). Local shop, pub (hotel bar), restaurant, tea rooms and even the RNLI all within a few yards. Property is well appointed, clean and comfortable. There was a hamper and milk on arrival. Much appreciated. We would highly recommend this excellent property and beautiful setting.
Our week at Heronlea was cold for early September and we were very pleased to have easy to operate heating. The owners are next door if you need them. The added bonus for this property was the deer visiting the large garden.
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment! Great communication and we are looking forward to our next stay!!
Excellent house, which was used as a base to explore the area. We had very good weather more or less when we were there (mid-May 23 for a week), which helps. Not many midges about! The house was clean and comfortable with large kitchen area and dining area with two of all major white goods (two ovens, fridges, microwaves etc.). Red squirrel watched us each breakfast most mornings. Three (very) large bedrooms upstairs with en-suites, which we used (we were a party of three couples). One bedroom downstairs with separate bathroom and I believe the house can accommodate up to ten. The v...more
Had a wonderful stay here.Lovely family house which has everything you need and more.We had a 10 month old baby with us and it was perfect for him too .Host was very helpful .Totally recommend it .
The flat is very comfortable and situated just across the road from the water. The views are magnificent. We found the hotel nest door to be welcoming and reasonably priced, and the general store underneath very convenient. Altogether just about perfect! Small criticisms - there is very little space to hang clothes and a shortage of hangers. Also I have never known such a heavy duvet and we had a heatwave. There were no options eg blankets.
Beautiful accommodation in a stunning setting. It is very well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We will miss waking up in the morning to the gorgeous view of the loch. There was a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge on our arrival, a lovely surprise.
Stunning location and wonderful hosts. Our 2nd May visit to the cabin and we are already planning the 3rd. All the peace and beautiful scenery you could wish for along with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Not far from Glasgow and surrounding areas and the drive up past the Loch's and onwards is breathtaking. Can't wait to return.
We had a great stay at Sedna. The house was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and was handy for shops, leisure facilities and stunning landscapes and beaches.
We spent the most peaceful 5 days here. Best equipped kitchen we have ever experienced in a number of years of self catering accommodation. Loved the setting. We would love to return. Thank you ☺️
Great stay, thankyou for fab accommodation! We really enjoyed our visit. We will be back soon!!!!!!!!
Amazing views. Very comfortable, fabulous lounge, dining area and main bedroom. Can't understand why it's not fully booked over the summer. Very quiet area, great to really switch off and spend time walking or with the binoculars.
When we arrived our whole family was impressed by the cleanliness and spec of the flat. From the lounge furniture, to the beds, towels, shower, bathroom, crockery, plates and everything in between we couldn’t have found better or fault anything in the flat. Everything in the flat felt brand new so we could see and apple the owners had done everything in their power to make this flat so comfortable, clean, accessible and enjoyable for us their guests. The only downside to the property - which we feel may just be out of the flat owners control - was the close entrance hallway. The front door ...more
Our stay at Blairlagan Lodge this year again was very enjoyable, the lodge was clean and comfortable and all our needs catered for. Liz left lots of little extras which was so kind and much appreciated. I would return and have no hesitation on recommending too others.
We had a perfect stay in Greenlea the views are incredible and stunning. We have stayed in a lot of holiday homes but Greenlea is at the top of the cleanest, it's immaculate and tastefully decorated with everything you need in the kitchen/ equipment. The garden is also well kept. There is nothing to say negative about Greenlea.
This is our 3rd visit to Craignethan. Cottage and the facilities are every bit as good as we found on our 1st stay. Couldn't wish for more from a holiday cottage
Had a lovely time here. Enjoyed doing a few paintings and exploring the gorgeous area. Apartment is comfortable, clean and welcoming. Peaceful and rejuvenating. Would definitely book again.
The cottage is ideally placed for anyone travelling to Dunoon on the Western Ferries. The garden is beautiful, not too manicured, and extends all around the cottage. The deck and outdoor seating area is a lovely place to sit and look at the birds - we saw a male crossbill one day. On showery days the conservatory is really spacious and gets very warm with even a little sun. That was the room where we spent most of our time when indoors. The lounge was cosy. There is a wood-burning stove, with plenty of logs and would have been our choice of place to sit in the winter. The kitchen was well equi...more
Harris Lodge is in a great location with views over the lock. Spacious, clean and very comfy. We had a fantastic holiday
Apart from the midges and rain we had a great time at Coorie Doon. It’s ideally placed to explore the area and in a beautiful spot to just chill. The cottage has everything you need and more. A great place.
Comfortable house with everything you need. Great location and good for a relaxing holiday. Will be back
We had a lovely stay at the cottage . The setting is perfect for a relaxing break. The scenery is amazing and there are lots of places to visit for walks. The cottage is very comfy and cosy . It is very well equipped and was perfect for our group . We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights too.
Freeland Cottage is a beautiful home, loads of space and so warm and comfortable, everything you could possibly need is provided and the owners are extremely helpful and easily contactable, it snowed while we were there and they even brought us a bag of rock salt for the path without being asked We wouldnt hesitate to stay here again, the location is perfect for everything in and around Dunoon and the area is spectacular, lanscape and views to die for!
We had a lovely stay at Janeville, which is in a perfect location in Ardrishaig with beautiful views of the sea. The accommodation is really comfortable and cosy, and well equipped. There is lots to see in the surrounding area, and we look forward to visiting again.
My family have stayed here quite a few times over the years. We love this house and its beautiful and peaceful location. It has everything we needed for a comfortable holiday - no matter what the weather is like.
The house was perfect for us. Spacious and comfortable and fabulous views and location. The whole area is beautiful. There are good local shops and cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Lovely local walks. Pebbly beach nearby. The Portavadie Spa was also great hit - indoor and outdoor pools, gym, hot tubs and lovely restaurant. The hob was malfunctioning on first night - but the owner organised an emergency replacement until an electrician could repair it. Great response on a Saturday night.
Cedar Cottage is in Rashfield, about 5 miles outside Dunoon off the A815. We were concerned that there might be traffic noise from the main road but our fears were unfounded. It has a nice conservatory and a large garden with a table and chairs. Lil, the owner, lives next door and was very helpful when our car wouldn't start! She also left a good welcome pack, wine and chocolate! There was milk in the fridge too. The kitchen is well-equipped and the narrow bath has a rainfall shower over it. There was constant hot water. We would recommend a trip to the Isle of Bute and Dunoon is a nice place.
Lovely place to stay. Well-equipped and comfortable. Great location and perfect for walking. Many thanks
Easy to find, very well equipped, tastefully decorated, and very warm and comfortable. Creation of a front outdoor seating area a good addition.
Our stay at Crossaig Farm house was delightful. It’s in the perfect location for so many little drives or cycles that take you to the most glorious beaches. The house itself was beautifully decorated and very spacious with plenty of room for our family. We stayed at the perfect time as we got to see all of the new lambs on the surrounding fields. The view from the property down the open fields and then out onto the water is stunning and so peaceful. Lynne has the place in lovely condition and could not have been more helpful. Thank you so much.
Loved Upper Findhorn, amazing views, great location, lovely apartment highly recommended. Walking distance to local hotels/bar, we sat at night and enjoyed the view with a local seal making daily appearance. Must visit Carry Farm Shore walk and Ostley Bay stop at the Bothy for a bite.
Lovely lodge ,beautiful views, peaceful home from home .has everything you need ,looking forward to go back again soon
Lovely well appointed apartment. Great walking from the front door - minutes from the Crinan Canal. Lovely shops nearby. Amazing views from the flat.
We were on the whole disappointed. We had booked 3 nights but left after 2. The room itself is nicely done out, but why you need a drinks fridge and safe when there isn't a heating system is inexplicable. The bathroom was distinctly chilly (no heated towel rail or heater), and there was no plug for the washbasin. We knew in advance that is was room only, so b and b (as it still appears on some sites) and self catering (as on Argyll self catering) is inaccurate and misleading, and there is still a breakfast menu in the information folder. The owner told us the local cafe opened at 9, but it tur...more
Ard Darach is a fantastic holiday lodge, the owners are great to deal with and our stay was perfect. The huge living room window gave us hours of fun watching the birds and Red Squirrels feed and play all day. The lodge is well laid out, comfortable and spotless. It feels more like a home than a holiday let. The site is quiet, feels secluded, but is a quick drive to the shops. We will go back, for sure. Our dog loved the stay as well.
We travel to the Cairnbaan area frequently but this was the first trip to Shelburne. We usually stay in separate accommodation but chose Shelburne to stay together. A delightfully quirky property that is well equipped and designed for a few families to stay together and make many happy memories. We will most certainly be returning! The local area has many hidden gems, forestry walks, trips to the Islands, decent restaurants to name but a few.
Lovely characterful house next to lock 8 on the Crinan Canal. The house used to be the local shop and the living room retains some of those features. The house is very comfortable, well equipped and very clean. You can sit at the front of the house and watch the boats travel up and down the canal. Lots of walks from the house. The owners live next door and are very friendly and helpful.
This was our second visit to Nursery cottage, unfortunately the weather was very similar to our previous visit in December (except the rain was warmer this time). As before, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need for a peaceful stay. This time we were entertained daily by a red squirrel raiding the bird feeder. It's the perfect place to chill out. We will definitely visit again.
Lochgilphead is an ideal place to stay to visit all the prehistoric sites in and around Kilmartin. It also has a Co-Op, Tesco at the petrol station and a Morrisons local on the main street. There is a fish and chip shop, a Chinese and some cafes. The house has all mod cons, washing machine and tumble dryer. The master bedroom has an en-suite and a very comfortable king-size bed. Using the wet room shower means that anyone wanting to use the toilet is paddling to get to it for the rest of the day! As we were a couple we never used it again. There is access for the disabled via a ramp to the bac...more
We loved our stay, the accommodation was perfect and it was great to have so much space! The games room and log fires were well used, as was the beach which was great for swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding and kayaking. The kitchen had everything we needed and the seating area off it was a stunning place to take in the views. Also great to have board games and books to dip into. The local shop was good for extra supplies, and would highly recommend Kames Hotel for a meal out.
Arthur’s Seat gave us everything we wanted! Yes, the steps up are steep but adds to the charm of the cottage and rewarded with the most spectacular view when you reach the cottage. Perfect for 2 and great location. Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable home from home stay. Communication with the owners was easy and friendly. We fell in love with the area and the added bonus of how friendly the people are. Looking to return later in the year and eventually move permanently! We’re looking to move to Kintyre but South Cowal has completely won us over. Turns out my mother went to schoo...more
Spent 4 nights at Pier Cottage, Kames. Although small, it had everything that we required and was ideal for our needs. The location is second to none. The owner Eileen was on hand for any advice and quickly sorted any minor issues. Thoroughly recommend a visit.
Me and my partner and dog stayed here for 4 nights as always had a lovely and peaceful time amber lodge is just amazing we know have been 4 years in a row now and look forward to our return thank you Joyce
Brilliant flat in Kames, walking distance to a shop and a pub. Right next to the sea, overlooking the island of Bute. Quiet peaceful place to watch the world go by. Lovely walks from the accommodation.
Hi dish washer broken No keys for gun safe No toiletries in bath rooms Very little loo roll and told to buy our own No dishwasher tablets or washing machine powder Logs poor quality and not many Just little things let it down
Marvellous position overlooking Loch. Everything you could need is provided. Very comfortable and useful outdoor space.
It was very comfortable, warm and clean, with lovely views. I loved the wood interiors and the fireplace. The shower was a little weak and ran a bit hot and cold, but I think that can be expected from a cabin out in the country. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it completly.
Donald and Diana were very welcoming and friendly, couldn’t do enough to make us feel comfortable . The location was perfect for a walk into town or just sit and watch the water
Just returned from a relaxing break at this beautiful lodge. Decorated to a high standard and immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will be back.

Disappointed with our one week stay. On arrival, the exterior was nothing like the website photographs. The rendering/white wash was flaking with several patches missing and the paint work was dirty. The outside windowsills were covered in debris and dead insects. The window panes were filthy and covered in cobwebs. The front door latch was not working and we had to rely on the yale lock to secure the property. Internally, the living area was badly laid out furniture wise so we had to sit side on to watch the tv (tv reception was poor). The wifi was not working and the owners explained that th...more
Overall this cottage is lovely and on a beautiful location with lots to do and see outside. There are a few things that would have made our arrival more enjoyable. The cottage was nice and clean at surface level, however, when using the kitchen equipment, we found every glass, plate and pots and pans etc were dirty and needed to be cleaned by us before we could use them. The dining table in the kitchen was a clever, safe saving folding device with the chairs folded away inside. This was absolutely filthy and needed properly cleaning. I realise that these issues will be done to previous holid...more
The flat is very spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Kitchen is well-equipped, plus has amazing sea views over the Firth of Clyde and the ferry terminal, fascinating to watch. The milk, shortbread, fudge and coffee pods are a nice touch which made us feel welcome. The owner did his utmost to ensure we had everything we needed, and was very responsive. Car parking is fine, despite a notice in the nearby car park saying ‘no overnight parking’, it is possible to park overnight. It is in a very convenient location, with lots of attractions in nearby Dunoon and around. Overall, a wonderful base f...more
A lovely log cabin in a lovely setting . My thoughts are that it would suit two adults comfortably. We were 3 adults and for example the settee easily seated 2 . With 3 it was too close together , for us anyway . We found all the notices of ‘don’t do this or that ‘ a bit unwelcoming and we have stayed in log cabins many times before . And in fact left Iona cabin to go to one on the Ardnamurchan! It was fine for 3 days and we enjoyed our stay as we are nature lovers and photographers!
The cottage is attached to the main house is the most stunning grounds with beautiful views of loch Fyne. It is very well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. The website did say there was a tumble dryer and fridge with ice. There is no longer a tumble dryer anda big freezer and new fridge is in place. The 3 bedrooms are pretty and a good size and the beds are so comfy it’s hard to get out of them. Plenty drawer space but lack of wardrobe and hangers. The living room is a mixture of furniture and quite dark - could do with a bit of a makeover. Lovey big bath and good shower with Plenty boiling h...more
Visited Dunoon and bay cottage with my dog and this was the perfect base for the week and exactly as described. Easy walk to front or into town.
We had a lovely 5 nights at Teal Cottage. Very well appointed and the bed and bedding was excellent. It was lovely to sit on the bench in the front garden in the sun (yes we had a few very sunny days), enjoying our coffee and the views. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The sitting/dining area was much larger than the photographs show and filled with natural light. I particularly loved the large seat/small sofa for reading in. The only reason that I gave a 4 for location is that it was a drive to off lead walking (for the dog) apart from the loch when the tide was out. That was great ...more
This property is in a perfect location for exploring Argyll, an hour from Loch lomond, a short drive from Dunoon and the botanical gardens. There are also some beautiful beaches nearby at Kilbride Bay (even in the rain). The house itself is spacious and well kept with all the amenities you could need. It's well furnished and serviced. The hosts next door are very helpful and welcoming, and although we didn't use, the open wood stock and honesty style freezer are great touches. My only suggestion for an improvement would be a comfier mattress in the master bedroom, but it certainly wouldn't s...more
Better to stay in summer time, muddy and windy in winter. We had power cut when we arrived at the cottage. The owners didn't let us know about it until we checked in and find out there is not electricity and heating, we called the owners to ask how to turn the power on and they said there is a power cut on site. So we were without electricity and heating on a 22/12/2024. We did survive the first night how some with 2 kids and a dog, but the next morning there were still not power back. The owner said we can go for meal and keep the receipt and claim the money back. Of course we went for break...more
A lovely cottage set in a stunning location. Very clean and had everything we needed. It’s situated in a stunning setting and was just what we were looking for for a weeks break .
Comfortable 3 bedroom flat, on the coast above an Indian Restaurant. The pub next door serves good meals although not every night. No off street parking but the pub don’t seem to mind you using there car park if you eat or drink there. All in all well equipped.
Fantastic property, spacious and clean, super comfy beds and pillows. Perfect location to visit countless places of absolute beauty. Host was amazing!
Lovely 100+ year old stone cottage, nicely fitted out with everything you could possibly need, Clean & tidy and in a good location for visiting the various islands. Val the host was very helpful in providing information on where to go and what to see etc. Would we go again, most certainly yes.
Cannot give scores as it will not accept them. Very good apartment and clean and tidy. Good location. Would stay again.
The house is spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner was also very helpful in helping us figure out the hot tub. Thank you!
We had a lovely few days staying in the idyllic spot by the lochside. The views from the cabin are stunning. It's incredibly peaceful and relaxing. It is isolated so make sure you take all you groceries! The local pub has great meals.
A wonderfully comfortable and luxurious house in a stunning location. Lots to do in the local area. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing break at this fabulous tranquil location. So private, surrounded by trees, none of the other lodges were visible from ours, great close by views of the loch from the living room and the master bedroom. 20 minutes walk along the edge of the loch to the Oystercatcher pub only renovated and reopened four weeks earlier, provided excellent food and local Fyne Ales beer, sitting outside beside the Loch. Long single track road kept the place private and close to nature.
We found Alder Cottage situated in a very scenic spot, however our first impressions of the cleanliness was very disappointing. On arrival we entered the cottage and as the light was fading I turned on both floor lamps either side of the fireplace., unfortunately they both were full of cobwebs and dust, the lights on the wall above the fire were also full of cobwebs. The 2 sofas in the living room obviously had not been hoovered as there were a load of crumbs and food under the cushions. The first morning we went to make breakfast, I lifted the frying pan out only to feel grease on the base ...more
The cottage was cosy, comfortable and well equipped with loch views. It was a peaceful and relaxing week and despite not having the best weather we really enjoyed our stay.
I thought Culzean House was good. The availability of a sauna and ht tub added to the value. Would have liked all of the rooms to have had en suite.
The customer service we received has been amazing. The property was fantastic and the lads were definitely comfortable.
I am sorry to have to say the following. The decor of the cottage is very dated and worn. For example: the upholstery of the chairs of the dining room chairs is broken, the control knobs of the heaters are broken, window of the upstairs bedroom cannot be closed, the bath towels and kitchen linen are a little worn out. But there was a surprising welcome package with fresh eggs and delicacies.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
We have been visiting dunoon for the last 15 years, me and a few friends have our annual deer stalking week with whinston Churchill and was great to stay somewhere that was only 5 mins down the road. The cottage was ideal for what we wanted and will definitely be staying again.
