Second time we have stayed . We are a party of two adults and two teenagers and attend the Cowal gathering. This cottage is perfect for us and we are booked for same time next year.
Kenmore was hands down the best of the very nice vacation homes we stayed in on our three week trip to Scotland. Cozy yet up to date and spacious, this is a place I could live in permanently. The spectacular views of Loch Fyne out the front window seemed to change every 10 minutes with weather and time of day variations, but always marvelous. An extra bonus was finding the village of Strachur and spending time in the pub getting to know the folks who live there. Thanks so much for a memorable visit.
This was our second stay at Benmore. The first was in the Byre last October as there were 4 of us and a dog and this time in the Stable as just 2 of us and a dog. Both units almost mirror each other with furnishing, style and high quality living conditions. Beautiful setting and surroundings (set within a working farm) and only 10 mins drive from Dunoon. Kayren and Neil, the owners, are very friendly and helpful but at the same time give you privacy! As our son lives in Dunoon we are so glad that we have found somewhere to stay as we know that our visit to Scotland will be a regular occurrence...more
A lovely cottage with a garden and a fabulous view over the Holy Loch. Thank you for a great stay.
Kayren and Neil were the perfect hosts. A friendly welcome greeting despite them having such busy lives. We were so impressed with Benmore Byre. The location was perfect for us...out the way, with plenty of space to feel free...very important with 3 small children. Fantastic views from the kitchen overlooking the cows and calves, a heron regularly dropping in. The trees and the hillside with all the wonderful colours reminding us all the time we were in Scotland. The rooms were spacious and the layout worked well, all the woodwork gave such a cosy quality feel to the place. Well located for ma...more
An excellent place to stay in Kames/Tignaburagh. Excellent hosts as well, so friendly and helpful. The house (upper level) is very cozy and spotlessly clean and more than adequate. Large bathroom with shower over the bath and a toilet along with a separate toilet along the hallway. It has the most beautiful view out over the water to wake up to each morning, which is ever changing in light, movement and sea going boats. The Kitchen is very well equipped with everything that you need to cook a dinner. (we cooked a Roast dinner) We stayed there with two other adults and felt we all had ple...more
la casa è molto bella spaziosa fornita di tutto il necessario e con una posizione stupenda vista lago mozzafiato le informazioni per l'arrivo, consegna chiavi, è veramente efficiente bellissima vacanza
Enjoyed a short weekend here. Lovely furnished loft suitable for a family. Furnished and kitted out to a very high standard.
Sorry 3 rd time ,,,,cottage brill visit wonderfuj even after7.5 hours travel ,,,,,when we come back to Scotland we hope to stay with you , ,,,thank-you xx
We were deeply impressed of this little treasure. We made every day a hiking tour und in the evening we fired the wood stove and enjoyed the loneliness. Only a lot of sheeps and two rabbits were our neighbours! What a pleasure! We were very pleased, that we got new towels at the half of our stay - the housekeeper came especially to bring them to us. The landlady has made a portfolio that explains everything. The wifi works most time good. There are a lot of maps of the larger surrounding, so there is everyday something to do, hike or visit. It was really hard for us to leave this little hou...more
We return year after year t0 Heathfield Villa for Cowal week and hope to continue for many years to come! Heathfield is a great house with everything you need for a first class stay.
Very nice stay ... comfortable with all amenities , beds were excellent ( very important as some properties we have stayed in the mattresses really needed replacing) shame it was only a short break
Had a lovely stay at chestnut lodge. Although pet friendly it was clean & smelt fresh. We are used to touring caravan holidays so I took along all the basics salt pepper etc. To my surprise everything we needed was provided even down to radox bubble bath. Lovely homely lodge cosy & warm. We would stay again and a bonus was being pet friendly and the little balcony which had a gate on which you could lock is ideal to feed your pets & towel them down if wet.
The accommodation was excellent, pity we were working. Stayed for over 2 weeks. Our hosts were great and only had to ask if we needed anything. Highly recommend.
We had a great weekend loved the house and location would go back anytime. The weather was'nt great but did'nt put us off it at all.
This is a really comfortable cottage, in a working farm, in magnificent countryside. Views from the cottage were great. No negatives at all to report. We very much enjoyed our stay.
An excellent cottage ideally located near to the loch and local amenities. A great games room for the kids to while away the evening or on those days when it rains!
Having stayed in Inveraray many times over the years, this is the best self catering accommodation in the area we have stayed in. The cottage is well looked after and has many nice touches, like a wood burner. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of cupboard space in both bedrooms. While the kitchen area is small, it has everything you need to cook a big meal. There is a large co-op nearby for supplies and plenty of places to eat out, with the George Hotel being the best of the bunch. We will certainly be back.
Lovely lodge in an fantastic spot right on the loch shore. Very comfortable accommodation. Clean and comfortable. Only issues were the wifi (as advertised) was non existent and no instructions for the unique heating system!
We had a fantastic time at Inverfyne. The location was beautiful with plenty of things to do locally and nice places to eat. The cottage was well stocked and had everything you need for a family holiday. The only problem that we experienced was with the water pressure - quite often the taps would not work as the pressure was low. However saying that it would not stop us going back there as we enjoyed the holiday so much.
This cottage was a lovely base for our family of four and dog. It was very comfortable and well equipped. Was really nice to arrive to a freshly made loaf of bread, bottle of wine and other essentials. The hot water bottles were a great hit with the kids! It was a good base for a weekend of exploring and the owner's guide to the area and restaurants was very helpful. The personal touches make a difference.
This was a very spacious, comfortable place and really well equipped. The surroundings were lovely - beautiful countryside and very quiet and peaceful. We had some lovely walks from the bungalow. It's quite remote so quite a drive to get to other places. However we went to Glasgow for a day via ferry and train and it was easy if a little long.
Ideal for a long weekend. The accommodation is limited to bedroom, toilet/shower, and living room and so you wouldn’t want to spend lots of time here. But if you are Amin,h out and about the accommodation is ideal. Extraordinarily clean with lots of little nice touches in terms of things left. Very thoughtful hosts.
A lovely place to stay to relax and explore. The only little fault we could find and it's a little picky. is that there was not enough plates and cups, as when things where in the dishwasher from breakfast we ran out
This is our 3rd visit and as before we all enjoyed our stay in this lovely flat. Over our weekend we had lunch and dinner out at the Kames Hotel welcomed by new owners Jimmy and Lily - food did not disappoint and we're happy they're continuing the legacy of the retired owners. We had a great Sunday walk through Ardmarnock Estate down to a tiny beach, the autumn colours are beautiful at the moment - highly recommended but beware if you have a very low chassis car the estate road is not do-able, it's very pot-holed. A great place to be whatever the weather - as people say in Scotland there...more
An Cala Bungalow Our stay was enjoyable in this remote bungalow, access road was poor for normal cars could cause damage, the bungalow was excellent well kept and clean, countryside views stunning, great location for walking / cycling. I would definitely revisit probably during the summer months, weather plays a big part in this location. Regards John
Having grown up in the village and with plenty of family in the area to stay with. We chose not to put anyone out and rented this beautiful house. And will definitely do it again. Breathtaking views and peaceful at all times of the day. Highly recommended
Working away from home you need some creature comforts so this place is ideal. Within a quick walk from the town and the picture house is around the corner. Nice views and plenty of off street parking.
Waterside Villa is absolutely beautiful. It is kitted out to a very high standard with everything you need. It is also spotlessly clean.
Would highly recommend Teal cottage , it had all our need's at hand and extra, very friendly owner who catered to all our needs with a very good knowledge of the area. the cottage was absolutely spotless and very comfortable to say the least with central heating and a log burner that give out lots of heat. Kind regards Mr and Mrs Clive Vettese.
Myrtle Bank Villa was clean and comfortable as our home for three nights. Argyll Self Catering Holidays were really helpful during the booking process. The location was convenient for popping into Dunoon for supplies (and easy to get to from the ferry on arrival), whilst having lovely views across the loch. The boiler heats the property up really quickly and there's plenary of space and a good supply of DVDs and games in the living room. Some of the kitchen equipment is a bit tired and could do with replacing, but it was very clean throughout. It's worth people being aware that the second bedr...more
As we were visiting family in the area Hazel Bank is well placed. Being close to the town of Dunoon it was easy to walk and get provisions. Diana and Donald who live below were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The milk, wine and biscuits were a very thoughtful touch, thank you. We shall see you soon again.
Lovely comfortable cottage which is well equipped. Clean and warm. Well kept gardens. Great location! Bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch. Will definitely be returning for another visit!
The Secret Coast Lodge provided a much needed getaway in stunning Kames. The lodge was clean and had every facility needed for sleeping, laundry, entertainment and cooking. The view from the lodge was outstanding and only a short walk (although maybe steep for some on the way back) to the convenience store and hotel. The public bus to Potavadie provided a lovely trip to Tarbert.
Very relaxing, good size of the bedroom, very bright livingroom, beautiful have bbq outside. Im very satisfied
Thoroughly enjoyed time at Loudon Cottage will definitely go back, highly recommended and excellent location for sightseeing
A fantastic house in a lovely location. Comfortable and special. Watching the sun come up an go down on the porch was great. The garden is so interesting. Close to pubs, restaurants and yet has that feeling of being removed, with a fantastic view. We will be back.
Myself and my husband were able to grab a few precious days together and I booked Newton Cottage as the location for this. The cottage is very well located with unobstructed views to the lake and indeed just a couple of minutes walk from it. The cottage was very well laid out and a lot of thought had gone into the design, creating a lovely waterside atmosphere with the use of colours and furnishings. It contained all mod cons and everything you might need to cook for yourself if you so wished. Amenities were within a short walking distance and we were delighted to discover a Co-op almost ne...more
Chalet was clean and very well equipped. Kitchen was great. En suite shower didn't work properly but good shower in the bathroom. Good place to sit with a terrace overlooking a loch - but you do need a car to get anywhere. There is nothing within easy walking distance. Portavadie Marina is not that far but not an easy walk to get there. Not as peaceful or private as it looks in the photo - there is another chalet right beside it, so we had three cars parked outside our window. Nice place though.
Fantastic spacious apartment which catered for all our needs. Very happy and will come back. Definitely recommended to anyone.
Nice large house for 4 men working away from home. Plenty of space for us all. Lovely location but a bit far from town. Not really a problem did most of our shopping on the way home and there is a garage that sells the essentials just around the corner.
A paceful & attractive enviroment. Views of the loch incredible. A glowing log fire at night. Access to the caravan site facilities. Visits from the local birds. Even from a fawn one evening. We came away completly relaxed.
Thank you for such a beautiful place to stay!we went on a nostalgia tour around the area and the flat was a perfect base. Views spectacular flat comfortable and clean . We will definitely return.Good value for money.
A lovely , cosy cottage with amazing views. It is also well located for shops, pubs etc. Highly recommended.
Lovely place just 20 minutes from Dunoon. Cozy at night time. Brilliant fun for the dog, would come back again
A lovely stay at Pier Cottage which is well set up and the owners friendly and very helpful. Good food at Kames Hotel.
Trevenek cottage was great for us - perfect location to explore Kilmartin Valley. There was a very small problem when we arrived and it was sorted perfectly by the housekeeper / owners, they are both lovely!! The cottage decor is a little dated, but it added to the charm. The only negative is the shower, which has very little pressure. Thank you for letting us stay at Trevenek!
Nice property in good location, handy for Dunoon and the surrounding area. Owners welcoming and helpful.
Great villa. Clean and comfortable with excellent views. Myself and friends had a brilliant weekend at the villa and enjoyed the hot tub. Will definitely be booking again.
Very nice, spacious flat overlooking the Clyde Estuary in a quiet neighbourhood. Bed in master bedroom very comfortable!
The cottage is beautifully situated. We really appreciated the decoration, fresh flowers and playroo
Excellent accommodation & facilities. Beautiful location on edge if Loche. Abundant wildlife to see & enjoy. Local resteraunt served good quality food wine & ales Also helpful, friendly with places to visit within the local area Wish we gas been able to stay longer Hope to do so next time Very enjoyable & relaxing
Amazing views and wonderful to have the sea at the bottom of the garden! Lots of space inside and there was everything we needed with a wee toddler.
The location of the log cabin was good with a nice view down to the water. There was a lovely veranda with table and chairs which could probably be enjoyed better in the summertime. A 10 min walk took you to Hunter's Quay activity centre with a cosy Bar Restaurant and good food.
Some facts that didn't detract from the lovely lodge and enjoyable time spent in Scotland What we found was unclean under beds. Our bed room had an old sock and a lighter under the bed. The heating was robust, generally too hot with the night storage. We turned off other heaters. They would be great if the weather got colder. Oven needed some understanding even with the instruction book, but we managed eventually. All other aspects were great.
Overall the property was great, only let down by the bathroom and dodgy shower. Believe the bathroom and kitchen are being replaced so should be fine going forward.
I just made a note for three days my wife and boy were welcomed very well the house we found clean and warm we felt good but we would have stayed more maybe next year
very nice place plenty of space lounge was always cold but rest of place was lovely maybe the stone floor we come to visit my aunt who lives in dunoon so good place for us to stay nice views too in all very nice
Having missed our usual visit to Scotland earlier in the year because of hospitalisation (hip operation) we decided to grab a late break. We had beautiful weather with blue skies and snow on the hills but at the end of November that did mean it was cold. We did struggle to get the cottage warm initially (We obviously wanted to be cosy at this time of the year and had seen somewhere in Argyll Holidays literature that there was central heating .... not sure that one storage heater for the whole kitchen/lounge area qualifies) but we eventually managed to master getting the wood burner to the opt...more
Property very nice and clean with lots of the things you would normally have to take already provided e.g. Dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc. What let it down was the lack of instructions for things like freestat, how to play a DVD on play station. Confirmation provided on booking and a few days before was not up to date i.e. Wrong housekeeper contact, wrong place where instructions were to be found, no bag for glass as stated. Outside furniture not that comfortable for someone with mobility needs. No outside umbrella provided(would have been helpful on first sunny day). Hot tub was great...more
We had such a lovely holiday in this beautiful corner of Scotland, and the house ticked all the right boxes for our needs. It was spacious and comfortable and just a short walk to reach the little gem of Crinan below. Amazing sunsets over Jura from the house, and an amazing collection of interesting books!
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
Very nice house, clean and tidy with a great view. I personally have no complaints and will be back again next year
I scored Ok for cleanliness as there were a lot of cobwebs around. Our dog's ball went under the sofa and it was filthy under there. There was dust on a lot of surfaces and in the corners. We had a lovely welcome pack of eggs, milk, meringues etc but the owners did not come to say hello. Despite it being advertised as such, there is no wifi or internet connection. The owner could not rectify this and told me it was just a poor signal. This feature is the main thing we look for in a holiday cottage. Otherwise the cottage was comfy and I had the best sleep ever in a very comfy bed.
