"We had a party of eight (five adults and three childern 5/12 and 14) staying the three nights at Kenmore and everyone had a thouroughly fantastic time! The kids had plenty of outdoor space to run around and the adults had a great decked area to relax on. The owners Lynda and Stuart live next door but respect your privacy and are on hand to assist if needed, even for a bag of ice for the drinks!! The house itself was very spacious and had all the mod cons you needed for a comfortable stay. The Creggan Inn is a two min walk from the house where they serve good food and drink. A 10/10 long weeke...more
Second time we have stayed . We are a party of two adults and two teenagers and attend the Cowal gathering. This cottage is perfect for us and we are booked for same time next year.
Birch cottage is just as described with comfortable accommodation and fabulous views over Loch Long. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful week at Stronchullin. We only used the ground floor as there was just two of us.
Never better. It was great..........................................................................
A lovely cottage with a garden and a fabulous view over the Holy Loch. Thank you for a great stay.
An excellent place to stay in Kames/Tignaburagh. Excellent hosts as well, so friendly and helpful. The house (upper level) is very cozy and spotlessly clean and more than adequate. Large bathroom with shower over the bath and a toilet along with a separate toilet along the hallway. It has the most beautiful view out over the water to wake up to each morning, which is ever changing in light, movement and sea going boats. The Kitchen is very well equipped with everything that you need to cook a dinner. (we cooked a Roast dinner) We stayed there with two other adults and felt we all had ple...more
This is a gorgeous little holiday cottage. Yes, the size may be on the small side, but everything possible has been done to ensure your needs are met. The living room has a pretty view over the water, and there’s a little garden area in which to sit. The owners could not have been kinder or more helpful. They had left us sandwiches and cakes on arrival, a supply of tea and coffee was also provided. More home baking was delivered to us a few days later! The cottage is about 1.5 miles to the town supermarket- an easy flat walk with plenty of seating along the way should anyone need a stop. ...more
Had an amazing holiday at Benmore Byre. Lovely sunny patio to sit out and watch the hills, forests, birds and sheep. We saw red squirrels every day and even a pine marten! Beautifully clean accommodation and very comfortable beds. Spectacular forest walks nearby and plenty to do in Dunoon as well. WiFi was unavailable - not a problem for us, but maybe for some folks if they were expecting to have it. The Botanic Gardens Cafe (a beautiful 10 minute stroll away) does have WiFi though if you happen to need it, as well as lots of nice cakes.
Great venue and easy to find. Comfortable, well equipped and roomy house. Great facilities. Easy access to places of interest and activities. Lovely view across loch. We enjoyed the quietness, peacefulness and the apparent remoteness.
The location is brilliant : views are amazing : really close to the Loch. Small local shop within walking distance and a great pub 15 minutes walk away: we came with a large group at New Years Eve and a local came out to play the bagpipes . Great for family and each bedroom ensuite made for comfort and privacy. Kitchen is huge and they have a huge dining table to support the full house. Clean and really comfortable the only fault was the clothes horse to dry clothes was broken - seriously couldn’t find anything else to complain about and me : I am fussy ! Loved it
Having great weather enhanced our stay. Wildlife highlight was a seal on the seal shaped rock not far from the cottage one evening - unfazed by one of use going down close to take a photo.
The Barr Cottage was a beautiful home for our small family with children who loved to play in the garden or looking out for sheeps. It's spacious and very clean. Nothing has run down. Victoria and John are very friendly and also helped us with our car problem. We really would love to come back.
la casa è molto bella spaziosa fornita di tutto il necessario e con una posizione stupenda vista lago mozzafiato le informazioni per l'arrivo, consegna chiavi, è veramente efficiente bellissima vacanza
What a lovely cottage: small but everything that makes life comfortable was there! Beautiful surroundings and lots to do, loads of suggestions and information provided! It was really nice to meet our host Mark!
Very nice location, very comfortable, easy to find, professional, I would recommend to everyone, everything you need.
We are four adults of mature age who rented Heathfield Villa for a long week-end. We found the property was excellent for our needs. It is situated near the town centre, perhaps a 10 minute walk. nearby are restaurants, bars and shops. This villa would be excellent for a family holiday with children as it has a lovely big (safe) garden. There are toys, games, DVDs, books etc. The wifi was very good. A special thank you to our host, Stephen, for the very welcome 'welcome pack'
The accommodation was excellent, pity we were working. Stayed for over 2 weeks. Our hosts were great and only had to ask if we needed anything. Highly recommend.
This is a clean and comfortable cottage, large garden to the rear with stunning views to the front. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning.
5 star luxury on the secret coast of Argyll .its the second time we’ve stayed at waterside can’t wait till the next time thank you Bruce & Penny
Stayed here in late June weather was kind good food in Kames hotel ( 2 min walk ) area good for walking. Cycling etc very chilled , haven't stayed in the area for years and it has not lost any of its charm , cottage is excellent and I will definitely book again
This is the third time we have been to the Benmore Farm accommodation and, once again, we had a fantastic stay. The accommodation is superb and well maintained. The surrounding location is great with many beautiful walks close by. Very quiet and undisturbed. Highly recommended.
What can I say!! It was clean, cosy, comfortable and the owners were most welcoming with the lovely extras laid on. Location was perfect and was quiet, tranquil, with stunning views all around. Totally recommended!! 10/10.
Cockleshell lodge is located in the most beautiful of settings facing the beach and the loch. It is spacious and very well equipped and the beds are really comfortable. We had a wonderful three days here and wished we had booked for longer. We were lucky and the weather was glorious and with sunsets to die for this was bliss.
Enjoyed our stay in the apartment. It was during an exceptionally warm period and the lot can get quite hot. But most of the windows open (not the windows in the upstairs bathroom) and it was possible to sit outside (although the garden is shared). Very well equipped. Bedrooms could do with some storage areas (to store things) but otherwise a great place.
This was a very spacious, comfortable place and really well equipped. The surroundings were lovely - beautiful countryside and very quiet and peaceful. We had some lovely walks from the bungalow. It's quite remote so quite a drive to get to other places. However we went to Glasgow for a day via ferry and train and it was easy if a little long.
Have stayed in this lovely flat many times and our next stay is booked already. Location and views suit us perfectly. Sitting at the big window in the sitting room watching yachts and the tide come and go along with herons, seals and gannets passing is soooo relaxing! Our only continuing issue has been that the fridge/freezer is not the one in the photo. Be aware that the fridge is much smaller and the freezer is a small top box plus it's not as deep as a normal fridge either so fitting foodstuffs and holiday wine supplies has always been a problem for us and especially during this hot spell....more
You get an immediate WOW factor when you park up at this property as it overlooks a small loch with views to the trees and hills beyond. We hired both properties which meant plenty space for all including the dog. The properties are well equipped, warm and very pleasant to stay in with 3 sets of double doors in the living and kitchen area to enjoy the surroundings even when you are inside. The area is hidden away but not isolated as you are a short distance from Portavadie Marina and the villages of Kames and Tighnabruich which are all a nice walk or 5-10 mins in the car. This place has got e...more
Just back from a great 4 days at Inverfyne cottage with three old friends. Everything was absolutely perfect and since no one else was moving in or out on the same days they were happy to be very flexible about both check in and check out times, which was a great bonus. The cottage is very well equipped, they seem to have thought of everything you might possibly need. Location is stunning, fantastic views out of every window, especially the huge window (basically one of the walls) in the lounge. The real fire just finishes the experience off nicely. Also, really comfortable beds. Plus extremel...more
Having grown up in the village and with plenty of family in the area to stay with. We chose not to put anyone out and rented this beautiful house. And will definitely do it again. Breathtaking views and peaceful at all times of the day. Highly recommended
Wonderful in all point of view......................................................................
We really enjoyed our stay here. We had fantastic weather which helped. Beautiful accommodation for all the family. We had a couple of issues with the heating, but the owners were very responsive
We have all stayed in lovely holiday accommodation over the years but I can safely say we all felt this was the best one ever for space, room layouts and the outstanding view. The house has beautiful views over the water from all 3 living rooms and bedrooms. There is ample space for 3 generations to spread out & enjoy doing their own thing but the rooms are also big enough for you all to get together in all the living rooms. There are other houses around but the house and garden is designed so well that you cannot see or hear anyone else although you may occasionally hear someone on the yachts...more
wee have a good time staying at lodge everything there for families cannot fault it that's our second time there wont be last time....the only thing were lodge is and want to go to club house at night is the lighting not very good got to watch footing.....but that's not owners fault feel could do with better lighting.
I can't tell you how much we appreciated their kindness in letting us stay at their amazing house. The house was superb, the house appliances were available beyond our demand and the lake view was very beautiful. Most of all we enjoyed the positive energy in the house.
We love area, love the cabin, dry, warm, clean, comfortable and cosy, little traffic, so easy to get to
Stairway at back a bit damp but not inside the house. Quirky layout with fantastic views. Friendly neighbours.
You will not be disappointed with Woodlea - it is a lovely and well-equipped holiday flat. Having both a bathroom and a shower room was a huge advantage. Plus it's just along the road from the excellent Kames Village Store which stocks a great range of local produce/meats and of course wines of all varieties and the chap there is very obliging and welcoming. We stayed during very sunny weather and the views were superb of the West Kyle from the dining table at the window of the open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room. We can imagine it must be very cosy in winter with the wood burnin...more
We would highly recommend Eileen Dhu Country House to enjoy a fantastic stay in the beautiful Argyll. The house itself is built to enjoy the views on the first level and the wonderful design allows for any group to share a wonderful social environment to eat, relax and gather in. It's a stones throw from the fabulous Colintraive Hotel which has retained its relaxed and inviting country charm whilst providing delicious meals one would expect from high end restaurants in the city. There are many walks around the village to keep you busy as well as having the neighbouring Isle of Bute, Glendaru...more
Myself and my husband were able to grab a few precious days together and I booked Newton Cottage as the location for this. The cottage is very well located with unobstructed views to the lake and indeed just a couple of minutes walk from it. The cottage was very well laid out and a lot of thought had gone into the design, creating a lovely waterside atmosphere with the use of colours and furnishings. It contained all mod cons and everything you might need to cook for yourself if you so wished. Amenities were within a short walking distance and we were delighted to discover a Co-op almost ne...more
An excellent family accomodation Well eqiupped and spacious for 7 persons with a fantastic outdoor garden , deck and play space with a wonerful view down the sea loch to the mountains of Arran in the distance The local village has great cafe and restaurnt and local store
Again I had a lovely restful week at Pier Cottage. I thoroughly enjoyed chilling out completely, enjoying the stunning views, surrounding areas, and listening to the cuckoos and wood pigeons calling. Possibly the only thing I might change would be the hand sink in the bathroom. It is very small and nowhere to put toiletries beside it. Not insurmountable though, managed fine. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone. Even no WIFI helps with the switch off process!!! Thanks again.
Trevenek cottage is in the most idyllic spot, perfect for exploring the beautiful area. The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable, the bed was lovely and ensured a good night's sleep after a day exploring. The only minor criticism we had was that the shower was a bit pathetic, the water pressure is obviously very low resulting in a trickle of water, although lovely and warm!
we had a very nice week up there by the Loch Asgog .. kids could even swim in the lake, very remote location exactly as we prefer
Excellent chalet with most mod cons - no dishwasher though! comfortable beds and good neat kitchen and shower room. Unfortunately I fell and broke my wrist, and we discovered nearest A&E is in Dunoon - 25 miles away. That's the price you pay for being off the beaten track. We loved it and will be back.
The flat is well situated but I found a few matters which made it unlikely to use again.tv did not work so had to wait till next day to get it changed.no cheese grater which cleaner took from top flat to give me and no air freshener so a few ear ears like that and the clock is still one hour behind.
Overall, a lovely cottage in a lovely location. Shower could be a little stronger but otherwise grand.
Fantastic size. Fully equipped with all we needed and more. Very useful having 3 bathrooms. Great space for dogs to roam. Perfectly located with stunning views and access to amazing places to visit
Location amazing Bedrooms very disappointing - cold, damp feeling & lots of rubbish dumped outside window. Rooms needed to be aired & heated before use. Had to use bed settee on first night. Kitchen cooking equipment could be improved. Not sure if would recommend.
Our family party of 10 stayed for 4 nights at Enmore Beach House in May. The accommodation layout is spacious and very good for 10. The open plan lounge / dining / kitchen is excellent with a wonderful view over the loch. However the household facilities, equipment & fittings were all tired and need updating. The bedding, towels, cutlery, crockery, glasses, cooking utensils were all somewhat random and overused - a jumbled assortment of low quality items. Other issues were a bit annoying - dishwasher never worked, many lightbulbs missing or blown, TV & Wifi also gave up during our stay...more
cosy remote location, far away from any network so as not to be disturbed by busy daily life. nice neighbors, good beer at the entry of the glen, an outside table would be nice.
We spent a wonderful week in June, 2018 at Yealand House. Very comfortable for our party of 5. Hidden down a driveway from several other houses, you’ll enjoy perfect quiet. The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing and consuming full meals (several food markets are located in nearby Lochgilphead if you’re doing the cooking). The clothes washer, dryer, and dishwasher are all in top condition, too. The family room enjoys stunning views over the water to Jura, with light past 11pm in June. There is also a sunny room at the back of the house, perfect for morning tea and coffee. There are ...more
What a lovely little cottage and what a warm welcome from Val. We loved the fresh flowers, chocolate, wine and fruit bowl that were waiting to welcome us. The cottage is small but perfectly formed with lovely furniture, bedding and towels. Everything felt so fresh and clean. The open fire is lovely and makes it so cosy. Would highly recommend and hope to return :) Thank you Val!
Although the house looked good on paper, in reality there is definitely a need for some TLC. The house itself was good, but none of the curtains actually fitted the windows, the bidet in upstairs en suite did not work, oven trays and frying pans were not clean, and windows inside and out were filthy... perhaps a word with cleaners is needed... To advertise a BBQ in garden ,when in fact it is a George Foreman Grill in kitchen is a bit of poetic licence. There is no piano in dining area and no access to gym equipment in garage as advertised. Several deck boards are loose and could cause a s...more
Really enjoyed our stay, flat was big enough for 5 adults and 2 dogs, very well equipped. The only downside was the path to the entrance which even before the frost was slippery. Would rent again, thank you.
This is a well appointed lodge in a stunning location, perfect for us as kayakers. The lodge was let down however due to cleanliness (cobwebs, dust behind sinks, layers of timescale on tiles and shower screens, greasy flashback at cooker) and attention to finishing detail (broken downlight in kitchen, pipes which could be boxed in, missing and broken slats at hot water cupboard). If these were addressed it would be a luxury property that would take some beating.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. The information book could do with being updated, it is recommending places that are closed and has scribbled amended notes all over it. A lovely bottle of wine on arrival. Thank you!
Beautiful place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful, we saw a few deer and rabbits and one red squirrel . Would come back tomorrow if it wasn't so far away.
It was our second visit to Rowan Cottage. We loved it so much we chose it for our honeymoon. We received a lovely, thoughtful welcome from the owners and we will definitely be going back. The views and walks in Ardentinny Forest were great and there’s also a beach by the side of the Loch which is great for walking too.
We had a lovely snowy weekend at the cottage, slightly put of at first by the fact the house was attached however once through the front door this became irrelevant as the rooms all face the rear of the property which looks out to a lovely garden and river with no one over looking. The property was to a high standard and easy to find using the directions given.the hot tub was great and would recommend this property to anyone.
Had a great relaxing holiday away from it all ( the good weather was a bonus). Lots of walks to do and some great scenery. Would recommend the strone inn for food. Welcome pack was a lovely touch.
The situation of this property is excellent. Shoreline 50 meters away magnificent walks ,just relax and let the world go by.First came to Dunoon 55 years ago.It only gets better.
I just made a note for three days my wife and boy were welcomed very well the house we found clean and warm we felt good but we would have stayed more maybe next year
This cottage was fitted out well and had the bonus of having owner nearby to assist with any problems. This is a bonus for anybody who does not know area as they are willing to answer any questions.
The cottage is beautifully furnished but we felt it was very expensive for the time of year. Also only a small bag of logs was provided free of charge, any after that was £5. It was very cold in the living room and the heater was not enough to warm the room. The parking is not good as it is just in a field gate which was very muddy, this then got trampled into the house. We loved Loch Long, which was full of wildlife, especially watching the harbour porpoises.
Seating in lounge requires upgrade.Storage heating in lounge ineffective.Single glazed windows did not help as weather was cold. Bed was comfortable and lodge was clean
Comfortable house which was ideal for a family stay. Snooker room was an added bonus. Good location and a nice quiet area.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
