Breacan Lodge is beautifully presented with wooden furniture handmade by the owner. You can feel the love and attention that has been put into the place so it really feels like a home from home. We had two young children with us and they didn’t want to leave! It was really handy having all the holiday park facilities nearby. Although the lodge kitchen is well kitted out we actually ate out for most meals. We were blessed with sunny weather and enjoyed days out to nearby Benmore Gardens (where we saw a red squirrel!) and Ardentinny Beach. An amazing long weekend!
Fantastic apartment with large windows so you can appreciate the view. Great storage space throughout and very comfortable beds and beautiful bedding Would struggle to seat 4 adults in lounge. Well equipped kitchen but a small table or breakfast bar would be good. The whole property was spotless. On our one day of sunshine we enjoyed the garden and exploring the shore.
Lodge was in fabulous condition on arrival. The views were beautiful and to get up in the morning to watch the deers and other wildlife sauntering around was a highlight. This was the restful break we needed and we would definitely return if we can in the future. The lodge had everything we required for our stay and would highly recommend. The weather was nice for an couple of days and not so great on others but we expected that. It’s the perfect getaway for a couple of days.
Delightful holiday. Accommodation absolutely faultless. Would not hesitate to book again. Owners are superb hosts.
We were made welcome by the owner. Good, clean cottage excellent location, great views down the loch.
Very nice and beautiful clean house and nice river view..few minutes walk to the river.a bit over charged price should be a bit less but not bad
A perfect location for our holiday. Extremely comfortable , clean and everything we needed and more.
If you wish a walk on the quiet side, then do not hesitate to stay at this lovely house, Ardfyne. With beautiful views over Loch Fyne to the west and in a great location altogether, this property is superbly well-equipped and spacious. Also, well-placed for an evening meal out in the nearby Creggans Inn, book ahead as this is a very busy restaurant with great seafood. Forest trails, mooching along the shoreline for shells and driftwood, hills and gardens to explore, and within easy distance of most places such as Inveraray, Benmore Gardens by Dunoon and your own hidden gems yet to discover i...more
Greenlea was a fantastic holiday house with an amazing view looking down Loch Fyne. The house has been refurbished and decorated in a modern contemporary style with an open plan living space - we enjoyed spending time there when the weather was bad. There is also a lovely garden to relax in when the weather is better. There is a bit of occasional road noise but you don't see the traffic as the lounge is on the first floor. The Creggans Inn is a short walk away which is handy for eating out or going for a drink.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is warm, comfortable and well equipped, with wonderful views over the Kyle of Bute.
Views from Upper Alta stunning, room's large and bright, all that you need is supplied . Would recommend to anyone who want's a quiet relaxing break
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Craignethan. The location is just perfect and the environment so peaceful, relaxing and absolutely stunning. I would certainly book the accommodation again, and we will definitely be back to the area next year. When the weather is right, it’s better than the Med!!
We arrived to find the accommodation warm and very welcoming. All instructions before arrival were clear and comprehensive. Megan (owner) was very responsive to any questions. The accommodation was as clean and well-prepared as any we have stayed in. All facilities required were provided, especially in the kitchen. If it couldn't be found, then you hadn't looked in the right cupboard! Remember to bring your own passwords to take advantage of iPlayer and Netflix. Close to town, but quiet location. Great walks at Benmore, Puck's Glen, Ardentinny and Bishop's Glen etc. Highly Recommended.
Perfect peaceful location with beautiful views. Comfortable, clean well equipped cottage. Just a couple of suggestions- a mirror in bedroom would be good and an outside washing line (there is an outside line that is covered with a lean to)
I travelled with my husband, our 3 year old son and my elderly parents. The bedrooms and bathrooms available in this property were perfect as my father can’t climb stairs. Him and my mother had their own bathroom next to their bedroom on the ground floor. We had 2 bedrooms and a gorgeous bathroom with a bath upstairs. The rest of the house is just ideal. Beautiful kitchen and very well equipped. The owner put some milk in the fridge for us and left a lovely welcome basket with some biscuits etc. We loved the garden as it was so safe for our son and also just beautiful to sit in and look at. We...more
Beautiful apartment, perfectly clean, modern and great location. Enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back.
Very comfortable ground floor flat convenient for shops and esplanade. Well equipped and spotlessly clean.
beautiful location with stunning views .Cottage is comfortable we made the mistake of not getting milk for when we arrived and as the only shop was closed we had to wait until the morning as it is the only cottage we have ever been to with no welcome pack at all. We also left a day early as the neighbouring cottage had workmen cutting down the back garden trees and greenery and using a bonfire to burn some of it for 2 days so all windows and doors had to be kept closed
Cottage was beautiful, very clean with every mod con and more. It is very spacious and the garden is very enclosed and safe. Lil who owns the cottage is lovely and there if needed (lives next door)for anything at all. I would recommend this cottage to all- couples and families. We would definitely return.
The house was ideal for our family holiday and the location was great, we loved watching the boats go through the locks. Although the weather was poor we made the most of our time while staying in Argyll. Our only comment would be the garden was not secure for the dogs.
Wonderful holiday in this very well-equipped and comfortable cottage in superb location. Why do I need to submit 13 more characters when I've said it all?
We enjoyed a very pleasant 2 weeks in this ground floor apartment and received a warm welcome from the owners, Natalie and John. Everywhere was spotlessly clean on arrival. The kitchen fittings were very new and well laid out with the added benefit of a small dishwasher which we very much appreciated on the days we ate "at home". The house is well set back from the main road and we slept very soundly in the master bedroom. We had plenty of storage for our belongings and also appreciated the comfort of the living room sofa and armchairs. The location in Ardrishaig worked very well for u...more
Lovely apartment with fantastic views, great location. Well equipped and a lovely welcoming basket with goodies on arrival and info on local tourist attractions. Second bedroom probably more suitable for kids than adults but otherwise we loved the apartment and would stay again.
After a number of previous visits to the Waterside it was lovely to return. You couldn’t ask for a better position with stunning views which are ever changing. House is very well equipped and comfortable. It was strange not being able to control the heating ourselves though as the temperature/weather was always different. Rang the owner once to put up it on, which they did straight away, but we would have preferred to have been able to do it ourselves as and when was necessary. Having said that we have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
Had a lovely break with lots of walking in the sunshine. Comfy bed and well stocked kitchen. It was great to sit out on the decking in the evenings and have breakfast in the little conservatory, watching dolphins, boats (and a sub) going up and down the Clyde. Wildlife spots included a red squirrel at Kilmun Arboretum and a otter in the water just over the sea wall near the church. The accomodation is on a bus route so plenty of chances to leave the car at home, walking one way then getting the bus back.
We felt very safe as everything had been deep cleaned prior to our arrival. We were really impressed that disinfectant had been left for our use, the owners were in touch with us informing us of road closures which was helpful. This was our second visit and it won’t be the last
Exactly as it was described on the website. Lovely hosts and thank you for the welcome basket! Beautiful weather for half our stay and the outside decking and furniture well used. Very comfortable beds
All in all, the property was clean, well equipped with largely up to date furniture, fixtures, fittings and apart from no TV picture except via internet, well maintained. However I doubt I would return as the cabin lacks space, tiny shower door, space at bottom of double bed very small, dining area too small for 4 persons to eat in comfort. The interior is dull and lacking in natural light due to the dark brown colour of the aged timber interior and smallish windows in the living areas which are largely at the north end of the building and facing trees only feet away. In answer to the question...more
The house was very comfortable and well-equipped - obviously well-loved and maintained. Lots of personal touches, ornaments, etc. Garden was lovely, albeit one or two slightly wobbly steps up to the tables. Other than a couple of very small areas (dust on coathangers in wardrobe and also on nested perspex tables under TV), it was all very clean indeed - we felt very comfortable and at ease. The location across the road from the Crinan Canal was perfect for us - great for walks along the canal; also easy access to lots of great places including Knapdale, Kilmartin Glen, gardens at Arduaine and...more
Lodge was absolutely spectacular. Beautiful inside and out, everything inside you'd ever need. Stocked with DVDs, books, games, free WiFi. Owner extremely helpful by texting. Just brilliant holiday.
Comfortable stay in an ideal location. Lots of walks for dogs. Great views. Good communication - many thanks.
We enjoyed our stay at Roselea Lodge. It was very well equipped, clean, comfortable and warm. We were surprised though how busy the road was that runs along the front of the lodge. This didn’t however stop us enjoying our stay.
Aldersyde is a beautiful cottage in a great location. The 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin room comfortably catered for the 7 adults that were staying there. Both the downstairs shower room and bathroom have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. Again there was plenty of kitchen, dining and living space for the 7 of us. There is a secure garden which would be perfect if you had young children or like us 2 dogs. The owners were very helpful and responsive. The review book in the house was testament to the many previous happy holiday makers who had stayed there and I would gladly return...more
This house sits magnificently on the beach, so close to the water. Every bedroom window and all the living areas look out onto the water, for a relaxing ambience. The house is comfortable, well equipped and the lay out means you can always find a quiet space, The house and location offers something for everyone. We managed to go Paddle boarding, forest and coast walking, appreciate a shinty match, and a park and fairy trail for the wee ones to enjoy. We also watched dolphins and an otter. It’s a house to appreciate spending time with family and at the same time appreciating what nature o...more
Inverary was a lovely little town for a short break and Newton Cottage South had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped (we ate out so only used it for breakfast and snacks), the bed was comfortable and the bathroom, although small, was new and clean. It was an easy 10 minute walk into the town and the co-op was even closer. The view was lovely and there was a great back garden to sit in when it was sunny. Parking was also available at the back of the cottage. The road traffic was quite loud but we got used to it and it wouldn't put us off staying again.
A comfortable, quiet and clean cottage with great dog friendly garden. Great shower, comfy bed, nice kitchen diner. Car parking ok - had to park up the kerb and walk short distance to cottage. Nice walk into town along the prom.
We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay in this gorgeous, quaint and comfy cottage. Right on the beach in a heavenly part of the world, it is peaceful and relaxing. Just can't wait until we come again!
Fully equipped, spacious upper floor flat with magnificent views up and down the Firth of Clyde. Ideal situation with a 10 min walk to town centre and supermarket. Excellent base to explore the scenery and outdoor activities in Argyll. 20 steep outside steps ok for us as adults. Will happily book again.
Booking the cottage was straight forward and the directions easily followed. The cottage was clean and had all the amenities we required. The entrance to the cottage is extremely narrow for any family sized car. Widening/improving this access would make a great difference when coming and going from the property. We really enjoyed our stay, it was ideal for our dogs as they had freedom and safety. We would definitely recommend Tighnaheaglais Cottage to our friends and family
We were very impressed with the property. There was a nice welcome pack, the owner was very helpful and pleasant. The kitchen was well equipped and laid out. It has the benefit of two showers and bedrooms very comfortable. Good off road parking for two vehicles and a pleasant decked area with patio furniture.
A lovely clean warm peaceful and homely cottage. Very close to the centre of town yet having a nice feeling of remoteness. Owner is friendly, helpful and always on hand if needed.
A relaxing setting in a very quiet location, ideal for walking and exploring the wider region. We saw lots of local wildlife with the red squirrels provided hours of entertainment!
I had a lovely family holiday here with my sisters and brother and elderly parents. Accommodated our needs as there was a lovely dining table to eat together. I know there was stairs leading down to the bedroom and as my parents have stairs in their house I know they would manage but there is about 10 steps so maybe not ideal for people with difficulty. Lovely big kitchen with everything you could need. Lovely welcome pack on arrival which was a nice touch. Enjoyed our time there
This is a lovely property in a beautiful village. It’s very peaceful, offers great views & the flat has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We had a great week, the lodge was comfortable and well equipped, although would be a bit of a squash for 4 adults. The location was perfect, peaceful with great walks. We will visit again
Homely & comfortable apartment with a lovely view, beautifully kept garden, in a great location, definitely recommend
Lovely property with stunning views, very relaxing. Had some of our meals out on the veranda which gets the sun all day. You can walk through the owners garden which is stunning to go down to the beach( which is stoney) . Lovely chilled holiday.
Fabulous location and the chalet was well equipped BUTvery disappointed to find the chalet had not been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived; the floor had not been vacuumed and the oven had not been cleaned. There were dirty roasting tins left in the oven and one in the cupboard. The chalet would benefit from better lighting.
The apartment is comfortable and well appointed with its own large parking space in front. It could not be better.
Comfortable well heated cottage with two en suites and lots of space at the back door for outdoor gear and dogs' things. The kitchen could be better equipped though, for example it could do with salad and fruit bowls, clean dishcloth and pot scrubber, more dishes so that the dishwasher runs full without our running out of dishes, and picnic things like foil wrap or plastic boxes. Also the lid of the rubbish bin doesn't work, the kettle leaked and so did two cracked mugs. A chair leg was broken and the handle fell off a tray showing it had been glued on previously, but not strongly enough! Did...more
No issues , well eqipped and comfortable Steep and slippery back garden not suitable for most people But you can sit out the front We had a 3 hour power cut in the evening So provison of a torch and candles in case of this would have been usueful
Lovely lodge with amazing views Light bright and very comfortable. Lots of wildlife about and some interesting walks close by It is pretty remote and the roads are v narrow and potholed so drive with care There is no instruction book or the cooker which would be helpful as ir is notvstraighforward Overall we had a wonderful peaceful stay despite the rain !!
The cottage is attached to the main house is the most stunning grounds with beautiful views of loch Fyne. It is very well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. The website did say there was a tumble dryer and fridge with ice. There is no longer a tumble dryer anda big freezer and new fridge is in place. The 3 bedrooms are pretty and a good size and the beds are so comfy it’s hard to get out of them. Plenty drawer space but lack of wardrobe and hangers. The living room is a mixture of furniture and quite dark - could do with a bit of a makeover. Lovey big bath and good shower with Plenty boiling h...more
Loved Otter Ferry, nothing there and shops are miles away and a trek so come well stocked up. Its beautiful location, stunning scenery, the spring wildflowers were breath taking and the smell of bluebells was awesome, The gardens are full of old well established plants and trees which have been left to their own devices, so its a lovely place to wander around in a chilled and relaxed location. The loch is just on the door step and is so clean and wonderful to just sit and watch. The weather was mixed but even watching the stormy weather on the loch was a joy.
We were for work in Dunoon and glad to return to this property. You can find all you need when you are away from home. Thank you
Nice comfortable cottage lovely views very peaceful location nice welcome pack good communication before we got there all Covid covered would recommend to anyone ale home very relaxed
well equipped, spacious, comfortable ground floor apartment with great views across Holy Loch. Plenty of outdoor activities within the locality so we had a busy and enjoyable week despite the indifferent weather
A lovely spacious cottage near the loch. A road at the front which was not busy . There are 3 red squirrels near by, but only saw one fleetingly. Plenty of garden birds. A quiet and peaceful situation.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage had everything you needed for a short break. The location is nice and quiet and the garden would be great for summertime. I think the main radiators need bled, when you put the fire on they only heated up a little bit. I would definetly stay here again when the weather is a bit warmer.
Fabulous house with a view. Would have liked somewhere to put clothes in main bedroom. There was no where to put clothes as no chest of drawers and had to keep everything in suitcase. For a house of this standard think it’s unacceptable. Also only one hand towel in each bathroom for a week, again not sufficient. Would expect to change towels on a more regular basis. Elaine the owner was helpful and arranged taxi for us to take us to local restaurant. Elspeth the taxi driver was excellent.
The location of Clamshell lodge is perfect. You an sit and watch the sun go down over the Loch from the comfort of the sofa through the big picture windows. The lodge offers peace and tranquility, exactly what we needed. Fantastic pub serving delicious food a 10 minute walk away is the icing on the cake. Make sure you bring plenty of supplies as it is a trek to get to the shops. Despite not having great weather we had a really lovely stay and we would definitely book again.
Ideal location to enjoy the Dunoon area. Not too far from pier and main town centre, walkable in around 20 minutes. Great for a large family with 5 bedrooms though only two showers - one an en-suite. The kitchen is a good size, and has most things needed. The lounge area is large but the suites are very soft and caused a lot of difficulty for our party to get out of, not really comfy either. The mattress in our bedroom (left, back) was very lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep in but all the others said theirs were fine.
Excellent accommodation with a superb location would recommend it to anyone will definitely be back next year
All perfect. Would totally recommend the place, the views over the sea are just incredible. Nice comfortable flat.
Lovely building in a stunning location. Very spacious and easy to locate. The view across the Clyde is beautiful and this is an ideal base for exploring the area and also Glasgow
Fabulous location on the shore front, free parking, comfortable beds and chairs. Very interesting watching all the shipping go by, loved the Janes shipping guide. Double bedroom and a twin bedroom, two bathrooms so ideal for a family
13 of us went to Culzean house for a family birthday celebration. We had a lovely time, the house was very well equipped with everything that we needed. The weather was not great but that didn't stop us from enjoying the hot tub or the sauna every day. The house was a bit further out from shops than we realised so be prepared with all of your shopping in advance so that you don't have to do the 15/16 Mile drive into the town. We had no phone signal at all and with 6 youngsters was a bit frustrating for them although the up side to that was that we had brilliant family time, just being toge...more
Ardmun house was so homely and in fantastic surroundings, the family loved it. The Benmore Botanical gardens was so stunning, and only ten mins away.
This is a comfortable house with a log fire and all amenities. we were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our stay as much as the first time.
The house is spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner was also very helpful in helping us figure out the hot tub. Thank you!
Superb location, view and comfy bed. This property was fine for 2 of us but ground floor area would be too small for any more people to be comfortable. It would be helpful if a cupboard or shelf could be cleared to enable own food storage. Cooker and fridge could be upgraded. Description needs to point out that the garden is shared. Location instructions for arrival are poor. You have to find the house on the busy road and then enter house to find parking instructions, which are also unclear. Information pack could give info on nearest doctor /hospital etc if needed.
Great cottage and facilities close to lots of great walks, perfect for getting away from it all to relax with great views.
Fantastic location Lodge disappointing poorly maintained poor customer service lacked finishing touches I would stay again for the location but would go with a open mind on the interior and cleanliness
We stayed for a week at this beautifully situated lodge near Dunoon. It was a family get together and commemoration so meant a lot to us. Lodge very comfortable with the exception of bunk bed mattresses which urgently require replacement. Kitchen and lounge well equipped as was other bedrooms. Shower good. Toilet seat broken . We tried to fix but could not. Clear commands left in Lodge for cleaning prior to leaving. We did so and left it as we found it. A general note, the back road is full of potholes and is in dire need of repair before someone damages their suspension. Would stay again...more
Very disappointed with the Lodge. In need of updating and TLC. Sofas in Lounge area in poor condition especially 2 seater all taped up and ripped at the back. Twin room dressing table very badly marked with ring marks. Very uncomfortable bed. Decking area not cleaned before arrival. Very disappointed as the price charged we expected better!
Cosy and comfortable cottage with beautiful, quiet country garden. Dog friendly with everything you need for a restful stay.
Had a great stay. Lovely cottage with stunning views. Great base to explore surrounding areas. Would recommend
The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything that we needed for our stay. The view was wonderful and the telescope a nice addition so that you could look out across the Loch. The owners got in touch with helpful information, which was great. We loved our stay and would love to come back to the village. One negative would be that perhaps the parking should be more accessible.
The cottage is in the most beautiful spot, we absolutely loved sitting out on the decking looking over the loch. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and the dishwasher was great. The shower was good, very powerful. The sofas are not the comfiest but if the weather is dry you will probably want to sit outside on the decking anyway! We took our two dogs and there are So many wonderful places to explore nearby (within an hour ish) including Benmore Gardens, Pucks Glen, Inveraray, Loch Lomond. The closest shops are in Dunoon which are a good 20 min drive away. There is a wonderful cafe c...more
A welcome pack with essential groceries was waiting for us upon arrival. Very kind. I would use this property again but i would request a thorough cleaning. The standard needs to be better.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
The cottage is in a relatively good location, a quiet corner of a sheep farm but within walking distance to amenities including a great pub and restaurant. The cottage was not very clean and smelt damp, there were crumbs and ants in some kitchen drawers, rubbish under a couch, many utensils were dirty, the kitchen floor had mucky foot prints.... however the sheets and towels were clean which was the main thing. The whole cottage inside and out needed painting, the perimeter fence was falling apart which meant sheep were often in the garden and their poo was everywhere, therefore dangerous f...more
Arrived to find the apartment was above the town funeral director which was not the best feeling. House was very cold and took almost a half day to warm up. Only one half roll of toilet paper and one single log. I would have expected more given the price. Great location very close to town. Comfortable beds.
