Ard Darach Lodge, (the Great Oak) is a charming log cabin set in a magical woodland setting in the heart of Argyll Forest. Walking distance to Pucks Glen and the beautiful Benmore Botanical Gardens this lodge is a wonderful base to explore this spectacular region.

Ard Darach is a fantastic holiday lodge, the owners are great to deal with and our stay was perfect.
The huge living room window gave us hours of fun watching the birds and Red Squirrels feed and play all day.
The lodge is well laid out, comfortable and spotless. It feels more like a home than a holiday let.
The site is quiet, feels secluded, but is a quick drive to the shops. We will go back, for sure. Our dog loved the stay as well.

Fab property with luxury of home. Location great for walking as we have a dog.
Area for recycling would be good.

A relaxing setting in a very quiet location, ideal for walking and exploring the wider region. We saw lots of local wildlife with the red squirrels provided hours of entertainment!

Fantastic cabin which is well situated for a break away from it all. The log fire was amazing and made for a very cozy stay indeed!

Ard Darach is a lovely lodge with the best location on the site! It is a very well appointed lodge and comfortably sleeps 6 adults. I found lodges of this size are difficult to find. It is easy to heat, a log burner and ample supply of logs and kindling provides additional heating if needed.
It is very relaxing to watch birds and red squirrels who provide endless entertainment from the large living room windows. The owner fills their feeders on a daily basis. There are lots of lovely walks nearby and some excellent restaurants.
Our family of 2 adults, 2 teenage boys, 2 grannies and a dog had a wonderful time! I recommend it highly.

We booked the lodge before lockdown ended and we were assured that if descriptions meant we couldn’t go we didn’t need to worry which was very reassuring. We drove up to the lodge and didn’t stop smiling for the rest of the week. It was well presented, clean and comfortable. The kids picked their rooms and we unpacked. Straight away we noticed the finches and red squirrels right outside the lounge window.... I personally had never seen a red squirrel before! We set out to pucks glen which is literally on the doorstep, we had a little walk around there was a diversion in place however it was still a beautiful walk. We spent the week on lots of different local trails walking, hiking, sight seeing and my partner also booked quadmania which isn’t too far away. We spent the evenings watching out of the window with the log burner on, tea in hand and we couldn’t have been happier. The kids 5,7 and 12 spent their time outside playing almost every evening which was lovely to see! Diane is a lovely host and we will absolutely be booking again soon.

Loved the location of the cabin. Cabin sleeps 6 but only seating for 5 in the living area..
Cutlery, dishes and pots/pans could be doing with getting renewed
Carpets needing a good clean lots of stains..
Beds and pillows very comfy
Nice clean well maintained park.
Had a enjoyable stay great walking through Pucks Glen .
Good value for money
