We booked Smokeham Farm for a surprise family gathering to celebrate my Mum's 80th birthday. We looked at a number of places that would accommodate around 20 people (from 7 to 84 years old) and although top of budget, Smokeham Farm stood out from the photos and website details. We were a family group of 18 - ages ranging from 6 to 83. The house was large enough to all comfortably sit down to eat - something I think is very important. We all were able to sit in the large lounge in the evenings to play games. The games room was an added bonus. The kitchen is large and sociable and well equipped. The bedrooms were large and the beds comfy. The weather was against us but having so much space we were happy to stay put. If it had been sunny there is a large garden with table and chairs. Stayed at Apple cottage for 5 nights to meet up with friends and family after a wedding at Pennard House. A clean, comfortable cottage with a hot tub in the garden and plenty of space inside. Adequate equipment provided although more cutlery would have been ideal as we had to wash knives and forks after each meal instead of putting them in the dishwasher
My family of three generations had a brilliant stay at the farmhouse, a second time for most of us. Everything described is exactly how it is. Would love to return again!
We found everything to be of great standard. Hot tub was clean and fun. Pool was amazing. Such a quiet and relaxing place to unwind. A short drive from Glastonbury.
We loved every minute of it, sharing the house with all our married kids and grandkids - so much space for everyone, play areas, many many lounge areas, huge dining room, spacious hallways, a few ensuite bathrooms, fabulous strong power showers, the indoor jacuzzi - luxurious, the outdoor hot tubs - bliss! The kids also enjoyed watching Mr Robot do the lawns daily. The owners are lovely people. We never see or hear the neighbours, so it feels completely secluded and very private! The house was everything you could need and more, peaceful setting and scenery along with all the essentials you could need to keep a big party occupied. Hot tub and games room was a big success. Our family age range from 4 to 60 years, just wish we stayed longer!
Lower Hedge Farm was the ideal holiday home for a mixture of 8 adults and different ages of children. There was something for everyone and plenty of space for people to have bit of quiet if they wanted it. Easy to find, good communication with company and ideally placed for Bath and West Showground and nearby towns. We had a great week.
