We booked Smokeham Farm for a surprise family gathering to celebrate my Mum's 80th birthday. We looked at a number of places that would accommodate around 20 people (from 7 to 84 years old) and although top of budget, Smokeham Farm stood out from the photos and website details.
As good as they are, the details and photos don't do Smokeham Farm justice! From turning off of the road heading up the long drive towards a very private and exclusive looking building, to finding every room was immaculate and very well equipped, made this a very special stay.
We had three nights at Smokeham and despite original thoughts of visiting the surrounding area and local attractions, we only went out for food supplies. The kitchen was like home from home (my niece was able to bake a 12" double height Victoria sponge with equipment supplied) and the size and variety of sleeping spaces accommodated couples, singles and those who were slightly less ambulant.
There are so many great spaces, everyone was catered for, from the pool table in the annexe to the fantastic hot tub, games sessions in the massive lounge area to breakfast together round the huge dining table and BBQ's round the equally well equipped outside patio. The grassed areas to the front of the house saw multiple games of football, rounders and badminton and for those who wanted to chill out and admire the view, the thatched seating area on the hill behind the house was used from dawn to dusk! A fantastic place to stay, enjoyed by all of our group, currently looking for an excuse to book up and stay again!

A very enjoyable stay had by all four generations. Comfortable house with stunning countryside views. Secluded location but within easy reach of many places of interest. Hope to return in the future.

Booked for a 60th birthday weekend, great communication from the team, beautiful house set in great location! House was supplied with an array of supplies including tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil etc. bedrooms where light & airy, all en-suite, comfortable beds, and luxury finishing. There were 2 BBQ’s, hot tub and pool table, along with large TV in sitting room and stereo!

As a family consisting of toddlers, teenagers, adults, we all had the most wonderful time. Smokeham was amazing , the facilities are excellent, the views...wow
Comfy beds, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
We hired the assault course for 1 day that was tremendous fun.
I would highly recommend this property. And the 20 of us will certainly be coming back to Smokeham.

This was our 3rd visit to Smokeham Farm. Each time we have been we have found the house to be very clean and well furnished. There were very few complaints from any of my family. One was about the potato peeler and one about the bed being to soft. The only other thing that was mentioned was the fridge was a bit small for hosting so many people. It is a wonderful place to visit with lots of walks & plenty to see and do when out and about in the local area. I would highly recommend staying here for large family gatherings and events.
