We cannot speak highly enough about our weeks stay in Carna. Everything was perfect . The hosts could not have been more helpful and their house is stunning in a beautiful location.
We just wanted to say that my family and I had a fabulous stay in Carna at the apartment hosted by Nora Folan. Nora was the ideal and generous host and the apartment was immaculate and nice and warm and perfectly situated for our explorations of Connemara and the Gaeltacht. We hope to book there again. Please pass on our thanks to Nora. We rate our experience there ten out of 10. Thank you and best wishes in 2023.
Our son attended the Ceol Na Mara String Summer School in Kylemore Abbey and there is no better location than this to stay as it is so near to the abbey. Great restaurants, Connemara National Park/Diamond Hill and grocery store all within walking distance. Beautiful places to visit just a short drive away. Perfect!
we had a very nice time in this cottage. Lovely place. The sitting room is a a little bit small, the kitchen with a lot of comfortabe things.
Geraldine and Frank were excellent hosts. Check-in was very easy, Frank even checking in to ensure all was good and to ensure we touched based if there were any issues - which there weren't. The house was warm, clean, tidy and had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. The house has the most beautiful views across the lake and is very convenient to Oughterard, a really nice village with great coffee shops and all the shops you'd ever need.
Great location, weather fantastic and family enjoyed it. Beaches and things to do are plentiful around the area and the restaurants are good
Excellent apartment, excellent customer service, great location I would highly recommend these student apartments to anyone. You know what you are getting from start to finish. What they are selling you is what you get and more.
This is a lovely apartment in Clifden. Pristine condition and comfort with an incredibly quick walk to pubs and restaurants (yet away from any noise). We loved staying here and would recommend to anyone in the area for sure!
Beautiful cottage with a great wraparound deck. Very well equipped kitchen. You can swim at the end of the garden at high tide.
Gorgeous warm house - a fabulous place to spend time with a large group of friends. It is very solid, insulated, and has everything you could ask for. The heating system was easy to turn on and off. All amenities in the modern kitchen. The house is close enough to the beach that you can hear the waves, and just a short walk to Cleggan town. The owner of the house was very kind in all his dealings with us. Thank you!
Our second time staying here and we will be back again! A lovely cottage with everything you could need for a few days in Clifden. The bed is very comfortable and fantastic garden. Great location. Less than 10 minutes walk to Clifden.
Beautiful home which comfortably accommodated our family of 9 Adults and 7 children, without being on top of each other. Stunning views for a peaceful sunset on the terrace and fantastic location for access to the many stunning beaches for our kayaks and paddle boards. Great fun had by all.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we enjoyed the location and surroundings. This cottage is a great base for touring Connemara (which we did a lot of during the 10 days): comfortable, well appointed, well equipped and lovely decorated. Fast and efficient WLAN was constantly available during our stay. We were only three but bigger parties will find plenty of space, too. Although the owners live on site, we had all the privacy we needed to feel home away from home. Aedan, the host, is friendly and accessible and although we never had any reason to call for help or support with ...more
Our stay was most enjoyable and we were provided with everything we needed or wanted. Fantastic local support!
We had a great time staying at the cottage, it was clean and comfortable and within easy striking distance of Clifden and the local attractions. Josephine was very helpful. We would certainly like to stay again!
We rented this summer home in Bog Bay, just outside Oughterard. Although difficult to find on your first attempt, the location is simply perfect, the premises are only 1/4 mile from Lough Corrib and you have full access to the lake (lake access alone is valuable). Our hosts were Frank and Mary O'Connor, who were warm and hospitable. The premises were pristine, fully stocked with the necessaries and slept five comfortably with room to spare. The interior looks recently redone. The location is a paradox - less than 1/2 mile from downtown Oughterard but very secluded. The only visitors were our ...more
Checking in was so easy, very clean, excellent location, on the doorstep you have restaurants , shops and an amazing walk up diamond hill. highly recommend this apartment and the locality. Tip: washing line in in the courtyard around the back, not easy to find but a great addition especially as your so closes to amazing beaches
We had a really great time with six days of bright wall to wall sunshine and warmth. The best weather I have had in Connemara in my forty five years of holidaying there every year. The bungalow is extremely well appointed in every way. The only negative was that the beds could have been a lot more comfortable. We were there when the campsite was not busy which was very pleasant indeed.
The cottage exceeded our expectations. Spacious, well-built home with fabulous views of the ocean, the Aran Islands, and the mountains. Stunning sunsets. Responsive owner. Great place to just relax. Good jumping off location, especially for sites in the Conemara. We would return.
Unfortunately the week we’re visiting was week of a storm but the house was incredibly warm and comfortable. The views from the house are breathtaking! House is very spacious and and comfortable. Lovely places to visit nearby (15/30 min drive), Omney Island is fantastic (check tide times before going). The final 5 min drive to house is up a steep single track with blind bends, not for faint hearted drivers. Truly wonderful property.
Great location to explore Clifden and surrounding area. Love our peat fire each night. Sandy our host was great. She went out of her way to be helpful.
We enjoyed our stay at Ballynahinch. The apartment is confortable and well equipped. It is located in a really beautiful area.
The apartment was very well situated in the centre of Clivden. It had a pleasant balcony where we could sit out and eat our meals since we had excellent weather the week we were staying. The apartment was well equipped. The only slight downside was that one had to park your can in a car park a few hundred yards away since there was on street parking charges during the day. But free after 6.00pm until 11.00am next morning so if you were out for the day not a problem. Excellent pubs and live music in the town
The cottage owners were very friendly and welcoming and were very responsive to any questions we had. The cottage is in a quiet area very handy for Clifden and whilst remote it’s just a 30 minute walk to Balynahinch Castle where there are walks, fishing, a good restaurant and bar. The cottage is spacious and well equipped with all the appliances you need. The bedrooms are all a good size with comfortable beds, quality linen and bath towels. It’s a great place to relax and explore and is ideally situated on the Connemara Greenway which links to the various Clifden Cycle Hubs. We’ll be bac...more
Regardless of some confusion regarding having a dog, Threasa was very understanding and allowed us to keep her which made our stay even better. Johnny and Threasa were very quick to respond to an electrical issue and managed to get an electrician on a Subday evening!
Great cottage, perfectly positioned for the Connemara and surrounding areas. Clean, warm and comfy with everything that's required.
Walked into a lovely warm house Mary had the fire lit and a bottle of wine, it was a lovely surprise and start to the holiday. The house was very well equipped. great views and lovely walks close
House was great but it was the layout was not what we expected and made it difficult for my elderly mother especially the first step when you come into the house The lay out is not made clear from the photos.
Omey is an incredible holiday destination with its amazing scenery and peaceful surroundings. Love the fact there are no shops of any sort which means complete switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. All in all just a heavenly place.
We’ve stayed in this cottage on many occasions. The location is beautiful- amazing scenery, tranquility and nature on your doorstep. Fabulous hikes and walks from your front door and all the beauty of Connemara with in easy reach- beautiful beaches etc. and the villages of Clifden, Letterfrack a short drive away. The cottage is always spotless, beautifully prepared each time we’ve visited and the host is friendly and most helpful. Very well equipped with everything you need. A more comfortable sofa would give it full marks all round! One of our favourite spots- we look forward all year to ...more
I enjoyed our time in the cabin in clifden. We were with our son and everything was good. The cabin is really comfortable and well équipped. One comment : the adaptator for standard european plug is down
Brilliant apartment, great location, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, parking indoors for 2 cars, will definitely ret, highly recommend.
Lovely cottage with wood burner. Quite cluttered and clearly a loved family holiday home. Lovely outside space with animals for company!
Contained everything we needed. Right in the middle of things. Double room a bit small. But 2 single rooms are great
Apartment surpassed expectations… really clean, spacious and perfectly located. Curtesy calls to make sure we were happy. Would definitely recommend and revisit ourselves in the future.
We had a wonderful holiday in clifden and loved your house. My husband wanted to move in! I think though as a batchelor pad. A couple of niggles. The CO alarm in the hall kept going off and drove us mad, as there was no threat. So Bob removed it and it is on top of the washing machine. The television was a mystery.we watched. George Gently and Sherlock Holmes until Tuesday, after which it wouldn’t work. We used the upstairs shower as we both were unable to get into the bath! Overall it was a perfect holiday home for us and we’ll certainly be back Thankyou
The house is in the most spectacular location looking down on the mountains and lake in the valley. We spent very little time in the house, but it was comfortable and well equipped. I highly recommend it for a holiday for a large family. Our host was helpful and great with communication.
The house was perfect and very quiet , large view on a nice garden i recommend ! top sophie (France )
The house is exactly as described; a beautiful home in the heart of Clifden. Highly recommended to all.
We were very pleased with this house which is in excellent condition and very comfortable. All bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. Great location in the centre of the village. The garden was secure and perfect for our small dogs
Group of 9 aged between 4-60+. We had a lovely stay. The house is great and well equipped. Fantastic location right next to the local bar. 2 minutes walk to the shop. Plenty of off street parking for 3+ cars. Only one thing - if the en-suite rooms have double beds, I think this would work better. Only one double en-suite so this meant all the kids had the en-suite rooms (which they didn’t need!!) Overall a lovely stay and we would return!!
Excellent location for a Connemara break away. The apartment was spotless and very well maintained. I will be recommending this location to friends and family.
Nous sommes très heureux de notre séjour et recommandons cette location à de futurs voyageurs ! Hôte très sympathique
The apartment is right in the town with a main supermarket right next door. Yet it’s not busy and its own entrance at the back makes for a peaceful setting overlooking the water. The apartment itself is very spacious and the master room is super with a hotel standard bed. We never had an issue finding a space across the street to park (September). Our little dog loved the gated garden. We will be back!
Beautiful location and very spacious house with everything you will need. We visited Letterfrack in December and the house was welcoming and homely. Communication was good, with all the information we needed. The village is lovely with great bars and a very handy grocery store that is open until late. One thing to note, though, is that the house is damp (I suspect this is worse at this time of year), which may be an issue for people with respiratory conditions.
all fine, bedside cabinet with table with lamp would have been acceptable (no subtle lighting from hanging shades). stained kettle spoiled wter for tea.
Cosy warm welcoming clean comfortable well positioned. Perfect for travelling and discovering Connemara Very much recommended
My husband, two daughters, and their children recently stayed at cottage 173 in Clifden. The weather was unkind so it was wonderful to be able to walk to the shops and supermarket and scurry back to the house when it became too inclement. The house was warm, the heater on a timer which we did not find necessary to adjust, and the rooms large and comfortable. We did not need a dryer but had we been spending more than a few days this might have been a problem considering the weather. The kitchen was well equipped except for the absence of a spatula (!) which is easily remedied. One note, it is d...more
We spent a week on the Lower Sky Road and loved it. Nearby beach and town and a short drive to interesting walks. Clifden is close by but you'd probably need a car or bicycle as it is a 45 - 1 hour walk to town or 5 minute drive. Highly recommend and will be back!
The house is perfect for a few nights in the village. It's warm, secure, comfortable & has everything you need. It's less than a minute's walk to the nearest pub and the host is friendly and helpful.
A beautiful very well equipped cottage in a very unspoilt part of the countryside. Beautiful walks from the cottage and close to lovely pubs and restaurants.
We had a really nice few days in Connemara in this charming cottage, right beside the sea and waking up to a pony in the field in front of us! Our dogs also had a great time (and we made sure to keep them on leads!) Unexpectedly sunny November mini break too!! ☀️
What an amazing location for this lovely cottage. We were so lucky with sunshine every day! Climbing Diamond Hill is a must. Swimming at Glassillaun Beach in the Atlantic was superb. Connemara is truly wonderful. Everyone so friendly. Thank you Ireland.
Pleasant, fully equipped, cottage in a good location with off street parking, approx 10 min walk to town centre. Close to the start of the scenic Sky Road loop and the main road to Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Killary Harbour, etc. Ideal for a couple or small family. (Mains water pressure was a bit low when we were there but that was a minor problem) Plenty of bars and restaurants in Clifden town, so no excuse to eat at home! Enjoyed our stay very much.
Fabulous location & view. House has everything you need for a relaxing break. Host Ann was lovely and welcoming, with great recommendations for local trips and places to eat. Would highly recommend and will be back
Overall this apartment met all our needs, and the dog loved it. Bathroom could use an upgrade and could have been cleaner.
As usual our stay in cottage 323 was a lovely experience. The house is very well equipped with all you need. There is a Grocery shop over the road which sells Everything. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants especially Oliver’s restaurant Which has the most appetising foods. There is car parking at the back of the Cottage which is secluded from the main road. I have only one thing to say that There should be a walk-in shower either In the bathroom on the first floor and put the bath upstairs in the top floor bedroom. Or put an en suite in the back bedroom. I find it difficul...more
Lovely house, great location, beautiful views BUT No blind on one bedroom rooflight. Cooker in an antique and no way to open rooflights. Front door latch locked us out one evening.
we passed a very good holydays in this very comfortable cottage, fully equiped and close to the city. We'll hope return next year . Thanks a lot.
The house is nice and has some lovely views. The kitchen is very well equipped and has an air fryer and a grill. The sitting room is very homely. The house gets chilly in the winter as the floors are tiled but there's a big fireplace and good heating. Dog's bay is a short drive for stunning walks. Our little dogs loved the garden and had a great time.
Our group really enjoyed our stay in Cottage 425 - Clifden. The accommodations were comfortable and the cottage had everything we needed for a lovely stay. We would definitely recommend Cottage 425 and would stay there again should our travels bring us back to Clifden.
Great location just a short walk from Cleggan. Large windows give great views whatever the weather.
This was our second stay at these apartments. The location is fantastic and the apartments have all you need and are extremely clean. Very easy arrival and leaving process.
It was a very nice accommodation (clean, well equiped) We were really happy. Sue Ellen support was very kind.
Fab view overlooking the sea but no outdoor furniture to sit outside and enjoy it bar a couple of white plastic chairs! Please please and also a barbecue would be fantastic. Still think 20e a day for electricity is outrageous!
What a fabulous place. On the edge of the ocean, lovely beach. A place to escape to. Here peace comes dropping slow.
Loved the cottage very traditional peaceful great place to rest & recharge & relax looking forward to re visiting x
We are a family of eleven who stayed at this property for a week in early July. We were blessed with fabulous weather. We were met by the very friendly and helpful Bernie. We had a great stay. The house was very well equipped with everything we required. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious with t.v in every room. There was probably too much furniture downstairs which made the house feel a bit cramped. There was plenty of parking out the back which was great as we had four cars, a boat and bicycles. There is a super bbq at the front with plenty of benches and chairs for outside dining. T...more
We spent New Year in this house in Clifden Glen. The house was modern and spotlessly clean, the kitchen is well equipped and house has comfy beds. Heating is electric storage heating and living area was toasty warm, no need to light the fire. The only drawback is the living area is quite small and would be cramped if all the beds were occupied or you are spending a lot of time in the house.
J'ai été surprise de découvrir à l'arrivée que nous allions devoir payer l'électricité. Cela nécessiterait d'être précisé clairement avant la réservation.
The appartment was awesome. So well located, with all we needed in it, including the washing machine. Good pub & supermarket at 5 min walking. We keep this adress for next time ! & definitively recommend.
In general, we enjoyed our visit to Connemara. However, I would like to feed back to the cottage owner a number of issues, and points for improvement. 1. The immersion did not work at all for heating water. 2. The electric heater in the bedroom could not be switched on. 3. WiFi was adequate for general use, but surely in these times, a package should be chosen which enables streaming. 4. The entrance to the cottage was difficult; hard to find, unattractive, overgrown with weeds, lined with old breeze blocks, very narrow. Turning the car was difficult in front of the cottage, and backing ...more
Bedrooms clean and nice with really comfortable beds. Bathroom clean and adequate. Spacious lounge and kitchen area but had a musty smell. Aired it as much as we could but didn’t get rid of it.
We spend a good time in this apartment in Letterfrack, I have only two remarks: - the cleanings was not satisfying for our arrival, - the water-heating system is really too noisy.
Comfortable apartment. The building and external space were still in process of being finished, which we hadn’t expected, and the information on the property and surrounding areas still incomplete. The TV did not work which was disappointing. The location was very pretty but not safely walkable to any amenities. Good base for exploring Connemara.
Definitely the best property I have stayed in by far, location is perfect so close to Clifden, Will definitely stay here again if available
Basic apartment. 3 bedrooms, kitchenette, sofas, TV and WiFi. All clean. It is functional. There is everything one needs in the kitchen, fridge and freezer and a washing machine and dryer. Useful to know - there is a cafetiere, vegetable peeler, frying pan and saucepans among other things in the kitchen. Disappointments for us - considering the price that we paid for the apartment which is not dissimilar to hotel prices, to them have to pay for the electric on top of that price is difficult to consider. That said, it cost us 10e for two nights for the electricity and we had used the dryer a...more
