We had an amazing holiday. The accommodation was excellent. The owner has put a lot of time and effort into ensuring a positive and lasting experience. Thank you.
Our son attended the Ceol Na Mara String Summer School in Kylemore Abbey and there is no better location than this to stay as it is so near to the abbey. Great restaurants, Connemara National Park/Diamond Hill and grocery store all within walking distance. Beautiful places to visit just a short drive away. Perfect!
We had a wonderful time during our stay at the cottage. We actually returned to the cottage having stumbled across this gem last year. The cottage is ideally situated near a variety of beaches, some which are more suited to surfing/body boarding, others for walks, swimming and playing with kids. The area is really super if you like walks, a bit of history, local dinners and popping to the shops quickly. We love the coziness of the cottage. We've had mixed weather for both of our stays but the environment of the house made us forget about outside and cozy-up inside - the wood burning stove is s...more
Lovely stay in very well-equipped, comfortable house. Great location close to Rossadilisk beach and Omey Island.
The Apartment was fabulous, we could not believe the magic of the place, stunning accommodation with everything you could need, and the Views were amazing from the Apartment, we really loved it all. All new contents and very comfortable apartment, loads of space and bright rooms with lots of windows, totally private and no noise. Beds are very very comfortable, the views from the en suite bedroom are stunning. The location was stunning, and the bonus of having a fabulous restaurant below us with beautiful food and fabulous staff was huge. All the people in Leenane are lovely, in the ...more
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we enjoyed the location and surroundings. This cottage is a great base for touring Connemara (which we did a lot of during the 10 days): comfortable, well appointed, well equipped and lovely decorated. Fast and efficient WLAN was constantly available during our stay. We were only three but bigger parties will find plenty of space, too. Although the owners live on site, we had all the privacy we needed to feel home away from home. Aedan, the host, is friendly and accessible and although we never had any reason to call for help or support with ...more
Stay cut short by Coronavirus but a lovely apartment in a great location. A good variety of shops, bars etc in Clifden and great scenery.
We as a family really enjoyed our time at Cottage 162, homely and comfortable, great place to relax and unwind especially during Covid 19. Fabulous views and beaches. Hope to visit again.
Really enjoyed our stay. The owner met us and welcomed us in a friendly way. We loved the cottage. Spotlessly clean and homely. We walked around the loop every day from the cottage. Fab views to the sea outside the front. Would love to go visit again sometime. 5 min drive to roundstone and fab beaches.
We stayed as a group of 9 adults and 9 kids, a mixture of family and friends. We have travelled a lot to various holiday homes around Ireland but we all agreed this was one of the best. The 8 bedrooms all en-suite with their own tv was just great. There was 3 different seating areas so no one was on top of each other. The kitchen appeared recently renovated and was lovely to use. And it was great having facilities like skysports and a smart TV. The upper deck has impressive views and was used frequently for a relaxing after dinner drink. The kids enjoyed the garden and there was a little play...more
The house is perfect. What a pitty that it wasn’t clean... Owners very friendly. Wifi and tv were great but more important, kitchen missed some basic things.
Loved everything about this house, my 3 kids and I had a great time, we spent Christmas here, beautiful place
Choosing a hol cottage can be difficult but we were V lucky with 103. We had a delightful stay..made to feel v welcome on arrival..the bedrooms looked even better than in pictures...we would have liked a hand shower ( there was a fitting for it) in main bathroom but that s a minor quibble....thought it a wonderful place to stay..
We had an amazing week in Connemara. Letterfrack is a great base for the national park, kylemore, Clifden, beaches etc. Apartment was perfect for our needs with a toddler. A great hairdryer too..no need to bring one!
Great cottage everything you would need for a short stay. Lovely location pub and shop a 2 minute drive away. Loads of beaches nearby and one across the road. Would stay again.
The apartment was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very nicely furnished. The apartment is lovely and bright with large windows and the view looking down over the main street is lovely. Parking is pay parking out side but there was always spaces and didn't have to pay until 11.30am so we often left car outside overnight. It was easy to move it to Supervalu car park nearby if needs be. The location is fantastic, so handy for shops and restaurants.
A gorgeous apartment that was in immaculate condition! The owners were very lovely and very helpful. In an excellent location in Clifden too. Couldn’t recommend this place enough to anyone looking to stay in it!
Contained everything we needed. Right in the middle of things. Double room a bit small. But 2 single rooms are great
Our stay in the Appartement in Letterfrack was amazing. It was a big appartement that was nice and clean. We really loved our stay in the Connemara!
The property is set in a wonderful location with easy access to a beach along with country walks. Local villages aren't too far away and there is plenty to do in the area. The house itself is well equipped with kitchen utensils but a weighing scales for cooking would be useful. Windows need to be cleaned and a bedroom window has a draft coming through it. All in all it is a wonderful place to escape for peace and quite and a beautiful looking house with plenty of space to enjoy. Would definitely be going back.
We enjoyed our stay. The open plan living area is very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and plenty of storage. It’s nice to be able to unpack and put everything away. The house was warm, we enjoyed the wood burning stove several evenings. It would have been helpful to know before we arrived, that the tap water is not drinkable. As the owner didn’t let us know in advance, he should have left us a bottle of water to start us off. I know there are COVID restrictions but a sealed bottle of water shouldn’t have caused any problem. Otherwise we had a great stay, the cottage is well loc...more
A week long break in a comfortable property. Location quiet. Scenery magnificent surrounded by mountains and rivers..
We had a wonderful stay at cottage 139. The position of the cottage is wonderfully nestled at the back of the holiday village with quite a large back garden for the kids to run around in while you relax on the patio. Well we tried to relax. Unfortunately the midges ate us alive and our patio time was short lived. It was really unfortunate as the weather was glorious and the evenings would have been perfect for outdoor entertaining given that all the pubs were mostly closed in the town and onsite but it was impossible to sit out in the evenings in that area. It's beautifully positioned very clo...more
We were a group of four visiting for 5 nights over New Years. We have family in Roundstone so know the area well. The apartment was perfect for us and had everything we needed, including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The open fire was a lovely bonus. It was easy to contact the caretaker to arrange key pick up - she left in under the mat and we did the same when we left. The location was great, Roundstone is small so you are never far from anywhere but the sea view was lovely (even from behind the scaffolding). The only criticism would be that the 'double' bed in the second be...more
I rent this home twice a year and just love it. Close to pubs, restaurants and anything you might need in town. We love just walking into town after dinner to listen to music and just walk home after a night in town. Perfect location and maintained very well.
The house was very clean and modern, with everything you would need. Sleeping room for nine people which really was a bonus and lots of extra space. Nice enclosed garden at the back which would be handy for small kids. Was a short walk to carraroe village and a short drive from Coral beach and pier for swimming.
Such a stunning location..the photos really dont do it justice, the beaches nearby are incredibly beautiful, walk down to Renvyle beach to watch the sunset over the Atlantic with Inis Bofin and Mweelrea mountain in the distance and all will feel ok with the world in these crazy times. Short drive to Killary Fjord, Connemara National park and lots of places to walk and explore. House was great, had the basics and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We stayed home and cooked every night and kitchen well equipped with a nice dining room. After a bath and in front of the fire we felt very cosy a...more
Needed more cutlery, mugs and glasses for a family of five. No broom or vacuum provided for cleaning.
As always a fabulous place however its a pity the large fridge freezer was not working the alternative is very small for 9 people!
Super cosy and spotless accommodation with great kitchen and shower facilities. Neighbours so helpful and kind with insights to the island. We got a sense of the locals (Inishnee and Roundstone) living and appreciating a different pace of life and giving of their time graciously to answer our questions. Lovely walk around Inishnee island (1 hour at a gentle pace) with stunning views of the Twelve Pins mountains. We skipped the Wednesday music night in the Community Centre and, on hearing the reviews, regretted our decision! So that would be our tip to you.
Beautiful cottage well located. Very well equipped and comfortable. As it is an old building you need to put heat on each evening for two hours just to take the chill away . Highly recommend this house.
Overall the holiday was so peaceful and Cleggan is a beautiful location as well the entire location. My holiday was so relaxing the house so Lovely and I had no fear if it not being Safe. Will hope to stay there again next year in Cleggan.
The house was so lovely, spacious and cosy , with amazing views out the front and back.Everything we could need was there. Away from it all but only 2 mins to the main Clifden Road and yet near the scenic roads through the mountains. It was a lovely holiday and yes we would stay there again.
The apartment is located in a beautiful surrounding viewing Diamond Hill. It is comfy, very clean and everything is there what you need to feel at home. Close to the Connemara NP visitor centre and Kylemore Abbey (by car). No wifi so a great place to unwind. Very friendly owner. I very much enjoyed my stay!
Besutiful cottage with a mix of new and old...everything you need...lake at bottom of garden...beautiful views and helpful owner...it feels like your in tge wilds of connemara but in reality your only 20 minutes from clifden...cannot wait to go back again!
Everything about this visit was terrific. We were located in the centre of Clifden, close to everything. The apartment was a 5 star experience. Extremely comfortable and superbly fitted out. Lots of extras left on our arrival, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, spices etc. Washing powder. dishwasher tablets, soap etc. The large, enclosed balcony area was ideal for managing our dogs. We brought an mattress cover, based on previous experience, but it was unused because the bed was very comfortable. Congratulations to the cleaner who forwarded our left behind items and produced a pristine apartme...more
Really enjoyed our stay in this well equipped, comfortable cottage. A welcome touch was warmth of the cottage on our arrival! Ideally positioned on Lower Sky Road, a short distance from lovely Clifden and easy access to the very many lovely areas in Connemara. Thank you!
This house is in a very quiet rural location with beautiful views of the sea & countryside. It’s a very comfortable house with great facilities. We particularly loved the dining room opening onto the gorgeous sea views & the open fireplace in the sitting room. There are endless beautiful beaches within easy driving distance of the house, as well as a small beach a short walk through the fields. Lots of Connemara’s popular attractions are within easy driving distances such as Killary Fjord, Kylemore Abbey & Inisbofin island. The villages of Tully Cross & Letterfrack are just a few minutes drive...more
Absolutely loved this place: it was comfortable, very clean, well equipped and with the most stunning views you can imagine. Hiking the mountains around the lodge is amazing but when you have lots of rain (like we did) outdoor activities become quite challenging (no real hiking paths so there’s only bog which makes good hiking impossible (unless you’re into this kind of thing..)). So prepare for alternative outings (which are plentiful in lovely Connemara) and take a good book. WiFi would have been handy (especially given the weather we had..).
This cottage was to a very high standard throughout. I travelled with my wife and 2 kids. Roundstone is one of Connemara's little gems. The views from the house of the Twelve Ben's is truly amazing. Kids playground only a 5 min walk from the house. Every part of Connemara is just on your doorstep Clifden, Letterfrack, Dogs Bay (amazing beach). The owner was at the end of the phone to help in anyway needed. A+++++ We will definitely return.
We were very happy with our accommodation in Letterfrack. We noticed a slight damp smell on arrival, which we reported to the apartment manager. It was no problem to move to another apartment the next day, and the owner even dropped us in a bottle of wine to apologise for the inconvenience!
Excellent location - on the main street directly opposite the two restaurants we had booked for dinner! The back of the house looks out on water and you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Best of both worlds. Excellent contact before and during our stay and helpful with keys queries etc. Only issue is the lack of curtains in the upstairs rooms - very difficult to sleep with the light streaming in! Also a pity that the room that sleeps the most people has no door meaning that it's difficult to sleep for all the people in that room if others are up in the house.
Loved being in the village. Great house and very comfortable and clean. The only drawback was there was no sea view.
In the early days after the relaxing of some Covid19 restrictions we 7 ( three generations) have had an unforgettable holiday. The house was spotless and ‘Covid protected ( well done David and Denise) with everything carefully prepared. The house is spacious and we could all find our own space when needed and also come together. The weather was mixed but swimming in the many nearby beached was a daily practice for the younger ones. If there is a better place on Ireland for walking it has kept itself well hidden. Here there are walks on hills, coastal paths and beaches and the views are unique....more
The apartment is spotless and in the quiet village of letterfrack. Very comfortable with everything required for a self-catering holiday. No need to bring washing up liquid, toilet roll etc. It’s a great base for travelling around connemeara.
We had a lovely stay in Roundstone. The house was very well equipped and was spotless. The layout of the accommodation suited us perfectly too. We were delighted with its location in the heart of the village and the views were fabulous. Paddy was very welcoming and had all the required Covid 19 notices and equipment in place when we arrived. We will definately be back for another holiday in Roundstone and will contact you to make a booking of this or another property in the location.
A very nice house with plenty of space. Overall a very pleasant stay. Needed better weather but that's not the houses fault LOL. Connamara is a beautiful place with plenty to do and see. Prefect to leave your fast paced world for a few days of calm.
A lovely house in a fantastic location, right beside the beach. The views from both the sitting room and master bedroom are amazing and the house itself is very homely and comfortable. Great walks in either direction from the house. This is a wonderful spot if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing retreat
I stayed here with my partner in July 2020- cottage was very clean and well equipped. The owner, John is a lovely man, very friendly and told us the history of the cottage as well as recommendations for places to go. Pity the weather wasn’t great but the lovely scenery at the back of the cottage made up for it. I would stay again.
Notre séjour dans ce charmant cottage était parfait. Tranquillité, confort, et très bien situé, à mi-chemin entre Galway et Cliffden. La propriétaire nous a réservé un très bon accueil.
Fantastic location away from it all. Scenery is second to none and one would never get tired of just sitting by the fire looking out . Great location to explore Clifden and Galway. Really enjoyed staying here and will return .
We've stayed in quite a few cottages in Roundstone over the years and Cottage 216 was by far the best. The owners, Ann and Bernadette, went out of their way to accommodate us and made sure our stay was wonderful. The cottage is very comfortable with beautiful views from every window. Very spacious and clean. They provide all of the linens, towels, etc. An outside picnic table is provided as well as a gas grill. The kitchen is well stocked with everything one would need for cooking, (pots, pans, baking dishes, collandar, salad bowels, tea pots, coffee maker). Even egg cups! The applian...more
A little of the booklet information needed updating/Clarified a bit more and we couldn't find a key to the garage where the bikes were.In the end we had a phone number to chase this if required but it wasn't a big enough issue to do this. It was nice to meet the lady who looks after the property and we had a lovely holiday. The situation is great.
There was an issue with our original booking which could not be resolved and we reluctantly accepted a change of venue. The new accommodation was for 4 people rather than 5 which meant that our daughter spent her holiday sleeping on a blow up mattress rather than a "spare mattress" which was what I expected when I agreed to the new arrangement. The accommodation is clean but shabby - door handles hanging off, paint cracked, tiles in need of re-grouting, there was even a crack in the toilet! Charging for electricity was an unwelcome surprise. A communal clothes line is needed as there was nowhe...more
Lovely apartment, great location, very comfortable. Only recommendation would be to add window restrictors to the windows so they can’t be opened fully. Just an additional safety measure for those with young kids. Other than that couldn’t fault the place! Thanks again.
We stayed here during a rainy week in Connemara and it was good during Covid-19 restrictions to have a house away from towns but close to amenities. The house was thoroughly cleaned when we arrived and there were lots of notices taking account of the Coronavirus protocols. As a result we didn’t meet the owner until our morning of departure but everything was in order and we didn’t need to contact her about anything. The weather didn’t deter our three kids from swimming at a number of beaches and as such it was useful to have a tap outside to rinse wetsuits and a utility room for hanging clo...more
The location is hard to beat. Looking out the window at the sea and the ponies is glorious. Bumpy/stoney lane down to it could be tough if you have a low lying car but we managed ok. House has everything you need but beds could do with being replaced as not very sturdy (am not overweight). Husband and daughter managed to sleep reasonably well but l couldn't at all so after 2 weeks l really didn't care about the location, l just needed a good night's sleep!
The house was just as advertised. Private, comfortable, well supplied. Comfy beds. We could sit in bed and drink in the beautiful views.
While the apartment was excellent and the location was great, there is a need for permanent 24/7 onsite management. Had stayed there in 2019 and had no issues but this year the noise level was unbelievable-parties until late at night, fire alarms being set off at 5am & kids just running wild. So needless to say I wouldn't return. Bit disappointed to be honest
The location of the cottage could not be faulted, Dealing we had with love Connemara were excellent, There were a number of issues with the house which should have been rectified or easily spotted if any form of regular inspection was being carried out. These are 1: The overall cleanliness level of the property was poor, seating was dirty, a lot of personal items , food waste left between cushions, under the TV stand had never been cleaned with dust and dirt visible when sitting down. More importantly the kitchen appliances were in very poor condition: the microwave oven was in a dirty c...more
We had a wonderful stay in your cottage from Sunday 9th August through to Friday 14th. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and the views spectacular, but there are a few things that I need to bring to your attention. First off, there is no information before booking, on the state of the road to the property. The first communication on the road itself is after payment. "Note: There is a long bumpy road down to the property so take care on approach." this Note does not cover how poor the final part of the road to the property is. I don't drive an 4x4 or an SUV and experienced the under-carr...more
The water heating system is completely obsolete and there is not enough warm water during the day The beds are in poor condition, and cause us sore backs. The couches are so old that they loose their skin on the floor.
