We stayed in the Cairn during our holiday to Scotland in March. I picked the apartment in Kilmartin for its proximity to Oban and all the historic and prehistoric sites in the Kilmartin Glen. The Cairn is a lovely accommodation. It was warm and inviting. The bedrooms were well appointed and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and met all our needs. The owner was responsive and easy to work with. We stayed 3 nights, and I highly recommend this apartment. It is an excellent location for your holiday.
We had a wonderful time at Sedna. We were holidaying as a party of 9 (5 adults and 4 children) and our ages ranged from 6 - 73. We all enjoyed our stay. Sedna was spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. Sedna is situated in a quiet, beautiful location. Portavadie Marina is a short 15 minute stroll away and we enjoyed using the leisure facilities here. We hope to return for another break soon.
The cottage is well equipped and comfortable, the garden and views are fantastic. Look forward to returning.
Great place to stay and food in resturant excellent. Will definitely be back Close to all local amenities
The flat is in a great location in Tighnabruich easy access flat is very good it has all we needed and wanted for on our stay would highly recommend a visit
A fabulous house in an excellent location for touring the Kintyre Peninsula and Islands around it. Whether rain or shine the house is a great place to be and being able to watch the Islay ferries come and go is a bonus.
Beautifully decorated ,calm and very welcoming ,everything you need for your stay ,we had a long weekend stay and it was perfect ,walks along the shore which is straight across the road .There is a wee shop across the road on the left or a petrol station with a well stocked shop up the hill on the right with a wee woodland walk on the way ,would I stay there again 100% yes I would ,in fact I didn't want to leave
Lovely spacious room. Spotlessly clean. Owners Raj and Anita are so friendly. A very nice Indian restaurant as part of the building,Raj is a superb chef. It's a lovely village, the hotel next door has a nice bar and is popular for food. A very pleasant 2 night stay. Highly recommended, would definitely go again.
This lodge is stunning. So peaceful, cosy, comfortable and caters for everything. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher is a great added bonus along with the wood burning stove. Designed to a very high standard with lovely bespoke pieces that just make this lodge different and well thought out. This was the second time in the last 2 months that I have been here. Myself, mum and 95 year old nana love it and it has a homely feel that my nana just loves. Before we even left the lodge the first time round I went on line and booked up for June next year. Upon arriving home, within a few days I had...more
Great location, very comfortable and well equipped. Worked very well for just the two of us, and would work equally well for six. A very enjoyable holiday. A great community asset.
Everything was perfect. The Host is wonderful person, very caring and helpful. The cabin is amazing, it's spacious and cosy in the same time.. It's very well designed so you have all you need, little kitchen where you can prepare your meals, comfy bed and dining table. Everything looks like new and is very clean. The construction of the roof makes the room spacious. I'll definitely come back and recommend the place to all my friends.
Kenmore is a spacious , well equipped house with spectacular views of Loch Fyne. The seating on the decking area at the front of the house is perfect for an early morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening to watch the spectacular sunsets. A short walk to the Creggans hotel and restaurant. The owners live next door and are welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended ..
This was just what we wanted: somewhere to stay a bit out from Dunoon Centre: preferably with a sea view. This property did just that in spades and was very well equipped, clean and with excellent service from the landlord. The price was good as well. If I was looking for somewhere convenient in the Dunoon area, I wouldn't hesitate to book this property.
We were more than pleased with our stay at the lovely flat and fantastic location only slight issue was access for large van but saying that we managed it every day
Another memorable and happy stay at beautiful Derryguaig. Best self catering accommodation in Tighnabruaich.
We had a very nice time at house had everything we needed and that’s good to please 4 adults with ages of 20 to 58
Bay View has everything you need and is warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Plenty of storage in the kitchen and bedrooms. The view over Loch Fyne is lovely. Accessibility is excellent for anyone with limited liability. Best of all is our charming and considerate hostess, Rhoda. Thank you for a delightful stay snd all the thoughtful little touches.
Excellent house, which was used as a base to explore the area. We had very good weather more or less when we were there (mid-May 23 for a week), which helps. Not many midges about! The house was clean and comfortable with large kitchen area and dining area with two of all major white goods (two ovens, fridges, microwaves etc.). Red squirrel watched us each breakfast most mornings. Three (very) large bedrooms upstairs with en-suites, which we used (we were a party of three couples). One bedroom downstairs with separate bathroom and I believe the house can accommodate up to ten. The v...more
Wayside Cottage is a lovely, well-equipped cottage that is also ideally situated near Dunoon centre and local pubs/ restaurants. The views from the bedrooms are just stunning, especially at dawn with the beautiful sunrise. The lounge has two large comfy sofas and is a great space to enjoy in the evenings. The owners added some local produce which was a nice surprise on arrival. The property was perfectly clean which we also really appreciated. Thank you
Stayed here with two small dogs for a week. Lovely location and quiet. Cottage fully equipped. Unfortunately garden not secure for small dogs to roam freely as can get under the fence in places, so we had to tether ours.
The room I stayed in was very well appointed, and clearly well maintained and cleaned. Raj was very welcoming. A very minor quibble, but for my ageing rear the two seats in the room were hard, probably by design rather than wear and tear. Recommended small B&B in a great, peaceful location.
Accommodation was really nice. So clean and lovely decor. The only thing I would say is if you struggle walking, it is up 2 flights of stairs. Communication from argyll self catering accommodations was very good as well as with the landlord. Would defo book again.
Lovely apartment in fantastic location. Well appointed flat with stunning views. Close to the beach, village and great location for lovey walks. Cannot fault this apartment.
The views from the sitting room window and the front bedroom are as good as they look in the pictures. Very quiet property, very well appointed with pretty much everything we wanted. 2 doors away from the Kames Hotel (well worthy of several visits) with several other great restaurants within easy reach (Thyme & Tide, Portavadie (really, a good meal), Fyne Raja, The Oyster Catcher ... No wildlife in the Kyles but we did catch a little deer eating the greenery in the back garden. Good wifi and mobile - better than at home. Secure parking. All in all, a stress free break. Wonderful.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Craignethan. The location is just perfect and the environment so peaceful, relaxing and absolutely stunning. I would certainly book the accommodation again, and we will definitely be back to the area next year. When the weather is right, it’s better than the Med!!
Pretty, spotless, cottages with the Crinan Canal on your doorstep. Great tow path at front of house for walking, running and cycling.
We needed some time together as a family to detox from Christmas travel and Greenlea was perfect, a beautiful, tranquil house (I always like to stay somewhere that is just a bit more stylish than my own home so i feel inspired- and this fit the bill!) , everything that we needed, including the little downstairs sitting area, and the huge window sills for those who needed quiet time with a book, and that view!!! Amazing! A real highlight was being able to watch my son paddleboard on the Loch whilst inside with a cup of tea! Lynda’s communication was clear and timely, and we really appreciated ...more
We had a lovely stay here, cabin had everything could need. Great location surrounded by idyllic views and wildlife. The host was also great and really helpful. I would highly recommend this cabin to fellow travelers.
The house has everything you need and is very clean. The location is fabulous and the views spectacular. Support was excellent when needed. Highly recommended.
This is the second time we have stayed at Cedar Cottage we absolutely love it here. We came for Christmas the kitchen has everything I needed and I could make a full Christmas dinner. Everywhere is always spotless, the views are amazing and the garden is really big if you have children or dogs. We are already planning our 3rd trip xxx
London to Glasgow by Caledonian Sleeper train and a short train and ferry ride to Dunoon for a three night stay was enhanced by a lovely stay in a beautifully appointed self-catering apartment that had everything we needed including a glimpse of a sea view.
My family have stayed here quite a few times over the years. We love this house and its beautiful and peaceful location. It has everything we needed for a comfortable holiday - no matter what the weather is like.
My family and I stayed within the cottage and I can confirm that we had a lovely stay. The accomodation was clean and well equipped. Ii is within walking distance to town centre and shops. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Dunoon.
The house was perfect for us. Spacious and comfortable and fabulous views and location. The whole area is beautiful. There are good local shops and cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Lovely local walks. Pebbly beach nearby. The Portavadie Spa was also great hit - indoor and outdoor pools, gym, hot tubs and lovely restaurant. The hob was malfunctioning on first night - but the owner organised an emergency replacement until an electrician could repair it. Great response on a Saturday night.
Lovely comfortable cottage with the most stunning view over Sound of Bute. Gate cottage has everything you would need to make yourself at home, with a well equipped kitchen encompassing all appliances, WiFi and a firestick to sign into, comfortable furnishings to relax onto and also a pretty outdoor garden with parking. Walks in this area are aplenty and we managed to tire our springer spaniel out everyday! Local store is good for basics but otherwise be prepared for a day out to stock up for your stay, not a hardship in this beautiful area! we chose to make a trip out to Dunoon and had a love...more
Lovely place to stay. Well-equipped and comfortable. Great location and perfect for walking. Many thanks
Excellent lodge for a week’s holiday. Really well looked after, clean and comfortable. We’d definitely recommend this lodge and I’m sure we’ll be back again.
nice place roims were lovely so was restaurant food was good .only thing missed here was no breakfast.....hqd to go to cafe along road only 1 opened but was nice.
Very nice, super clean and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting with a wonderful view. Thank you
We have had a lovely week at janeville cottage. There is always room for improvement perhaps, like a working dishwasher perhaps. Other than that it was great
Ard Darach is a fantastic holiday lodge, the owners are great to deal with and our stay was perfect. The huge living room window gave us hours of fun watching the birds and Red Squirrels feed and play all day. The lodge is well laid out, comfortable and spotless. It feels more like a home than a holiday let. The site is quiet, feels secluded, but is a quick drive to the shops. We will go back, for sure. Our dog loved the stay as well.
We had a great weekend. House ideal for a family gathering. Good location with walks along the canal and in local woodland. Plenty of space and good facilities for cooking and dining.
We had a lovely couple of night in Cairnbaan House. The property is very nice inside (some quirky bits in keeping with its history) and is in a good location. We would definately stay again and recommend to others. Possibly a little expensive.
The property was outstanding in every way. There were eight of us, across three generations of family, and every single one of us was bowled over with the house. There was enough space and sufficient leisure rooms for us all to have our own space, as well as family space together. In addition to being spotlessly clean, it was modern and expansive, both inside and outside, with excellent facilities... including its own private beach! The views were stunning, and I would recommend this to any group wanting a break. The only thing you can't guarantee is the weather, but it was fun to watch not on...more
We have stayed in numerous self catering accomodations over the years and this was a top quality cottage. The beds were extremely comfortable and there was plenty of space in the lounge and dining room for all of us (8 people). The washing and drying facilities were excellent and there was ample room for all our supplies due to the 2 fridge-freezers and large pantry. We enjoyed exploring the glorious countryside of the local area and beyond.
Second time we have stayed in this lodge. Nice and spacious and quiet location. It is a bit of a walk to the holiday park centre and shop but easy if you like a walk. Could do with the back road filling in the potholes as it is direct to the lodge.
Very nice place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I slept best in that little cottage since years.
Don't be fooled by the exterior, this is a lovely, well equipped cottage for two to share. Waking up to the view of the morning sunrise across the Loch was a real joy. The only drawbacks are the close location to the main road means there is a lot of traffic noise, and close proximity parking is difficult, although there is ample space at the rear of the back garden. Other than that, the cottage itself is great, and the owners were most helpful when called upon.
We both loved this little cottage with grand views over the Firth of Clyde, worth the climb up the steep stone steps! We managed them and we are in our late 70's though fairly fit. The cottage was cosy, clean and comfortable and the support we had from the owners was excellent. It is well placed for visits around the lovely Cowal peninsula. There is a well stocked shop and two hotels serving food within walking distance. We would go back there anytime.
During our recent stay at Birch Cottage in Stronchullin Holiday Cottages, we had a truly remarkable experience. The location of the cottage in Blairmore near Dunoon was perfect for our 6-night getaway with my wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and better still we could bring the dog! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the exceptional presentation and cleanliness of the cottage. It had a modern and stylish design with all the modern conveniences we could ask for. The fully fitted kitchen made cooking a breeze, however with the local seafood restaurants on offer, we didn't use ...more
We enjoyed our stay so much last year we came back again this year. So peaceful, had everything you could ask for in quiet location. Thank you again.
Everything was great. From beginning until the end. Our workers who have stayed here were really happy and enjoyed their stay. We will certainly come back!
Parking not easy to access cottage and a long difficult path to carry luggage etc to the property. Furniture was very limited in that nowhere to put clothes when going to bed (ie no chair to lie anything on). Bed was extremely creaky. Only one toilet roll in property. No welcome pack (something we would have expected when paying such a high rental). Shortfall in cutlery and needed more in the way of coasters to place drinks on in the different rooms. No instructions to use the jaccuzzi bath. Cold underfoot - could do with rugs especially in the bedroom. We stay in rental properties every year ...more
However, we went for work there, we enjoyed every moment during our stay. The property is a home when we are away from home. The house is well equipped with everything you might need during your stay.
We spent six nights in the Dunbheag Cottage. It was so cosy inside, with everything you could possibly need for a home from home stay. The outdoor seating area on the decking was perfect for relaxing and al fresco dining which we did a lot of! It was super to have access to a section of private beach with a beach hut where we had several picnics! Our dog was made to feel very welcome and had a great time too. Our hosts were fantastic and gave us a lovely warm welcome of chocolates and prosecco. They were on hand for any queries. It was a truly lovely stay and we hope to be back one day. The St...more
Just returned from a relaxing break at this beautiful lodge. Decorated to a high standard and immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will be back.
Andrew and Sheila could not have done more to ensure that our stay was perfect. Perfect cottage for 4 and plenty of space for our two dogs who were made to feel very welcome. Felt totally at home. Splendid views across the loch and so much wildlife and birds to observe including white tailed eagles. We will definitely be back.
Had a lovely stay, beautiful views, fab weather very restful. The area was excellent for touring and discovering more of beautiful Bonnie Scotland. The lodge needs abit of a scrub here and there, And the outside just needs abit of a tidy. The facilities were good and clean, it had everything you need. The on sight restaurant bit expensive and some of the service abit slap dash. Overall Dunoon is beautiful and our stay at the lodge was great.♥️
Lovely location, lovely cottage and fantastic to watch all the birds on the feeders we filled. Bonus is watching the red squirrels every morning in the garden. Beds very comfy. Only down things for us is that place was so cold when we got there. Maybe radiators could be put on the afternoon of arrival in colder months. Also we have a dog ourselves ( not with us this time) but had dogs loose in front and back garden from walkers along the forest path at the front of the cottage.
We had a lovely break at hazelbank on Mary Street, Dunoon. We were visiting our family with our little dog and no one had room for us to stay. We had a comfortable stay, nice and warm and everything we needed. The flat was a wee bit old fashioned but was clean and had a lovely garden. Easy access to the town and the beach and of course our family. We would definitely stay here again.
The flat was lovely and clean and warm.It had everything you needed and the view was lovely.Superb
A lovely log cabin in a lovely setting . My thoughts are that it would suit two adults comfortably. We were 3 adults and for example the settee easily seated 2 . With 3 it was too close together , for us anyway . We found all the notices of ‘don’t do this or that ‘ a bit unwelcoming and we have stayed in log cabins many times before . And in fact left Iona cabin to go to one on the Ardnamurchan! It was fine for 3 days and we enjoyed our stay as we are nature lovers and photographers!
Loch Eck side is in a beautiful area. Ash Lodge and Park have some superb views. The Loch side road is surprisingly busy so expect some traffic noise (not excessive though). The only negative on the accommodation is the decking outside the front door which feels springy and may be reaching end-of-life. The inside of the Lodge was clean and functional. I would definitely stay there again if there were no room at the Whistlefield Inn.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage had all the amenities that we needed and was very comfortable.
This is a wonderful property, feels like a home from home equipped to a very high standard with very comfy beds and immaculately clean. Love that it’s a passivhaus too … very cosy and warm despite it being chilly outside. The views are exceptional and as a base to explore from or to just sit and chill it is perfect. Everything we needed was provided and it’s just a short drive to supermarkets although we did also walk which took us about half an hour to the high street. Whether self catering or eating out there’s a decent choice. We didn’t want to leave.
The cottage is attached to the main house is the most stunning grounds with beautiful views of loch Fyne. It is very well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. The website did say there was a tumble dryer and fridge with ice. There is no longer a tumble dryer anda big freezer and new fridge is in place. The 3 bedrooms are pretty and a good size and the beds are so comfy it’s hard to get out of them. Plenty drawer space but lack of wardrobe and hangers. The living room is a mixture of furniture and quite dark - could do with a bit of a makeover. Lovey big bath and good shower with Plenty boiling h...more
My family and myself had a smashing short break in Dunoon. The house was great. Joanna and Mark were really friendly and the views/promenade walks are excellent.
Wonderful peaceful location with stunning views of Loch Fyne. Great for water sports, birdwatching and walking.
This is a really comfortable cottage in a lovely peaceful spot. There were lots of places within a short drive to keep us happy, but we also enjoyed getting the little ferry to Bute and going further afield up to Inverary, then down to Tarbert and getting the ferry back from there. There's a little Marina opposite which is a nice place for a drink and a snack. Our favourite spot in the cottage was the sun room, looking out at the lovely garden and watching the many variety of birds. We had a bit of difficulty accessing WiFi, but that didn't bother us much. The owners were very helpful and wel...more
Lovely property in a beautiful location. It was very well furnished and stocked. Argyll Self Catering provided excellent service. There were two quite significant issues though. One was that the front door was sticking very badly, probably because of dreadful weather. We sometimes were unable to close and lock it. Secondly the heating wasn't quite up to the job. We were visiting family so were only at the property overnight otherwise would have lit the fire which would have helped but without that it was pretty cold.
This was our second visit to Ardmun and again we were extremely happy with our stay. Ardmun is in a beautiful setting - overlooking the water and surrounded by the sounds of nature. We have very busy jobs, so this is our escape, our chance to unwind. Sitting outside and taking in the views is amazing. The house is very comfortable, it has absolutely everything that you need - a real home from home, We were sad to leave - we enjoyed every minute of our stay at Ardmun.
Staying at the lodge was really good. Lots of space and lots of opportunities to enjoy the view! Thank you.
The cottage was fine but very small. The condition was okay, some furniture a bit dated. Kitchen equipment was fine. Some things were lacking or provided very sparingly (1 kitchen cloth and 3 dishwater tablets for 2 weeks!). We also had to ask for clean towels for the second week, that was not automatically provided. We couldn't get the coffee machine to work. The owner took it away to get it to work but we never got it back. So some details were not great. However, the views were lovely, it was very peaceful and quiet and the owners were vey friendly. So overall a positive experience.
The owner is very friendly and the cottage is located quietly a few yards away from the road. Its small and beautiful, the furnishing is nice and in a lovley english style. Unfoutenately the covers of the armchairs were old and must be washed. WLAN and mobile phone reception are good. Sadly there arent any tramping paths near the cottage, but the Argyll peninsula is great and have enough possibilities to hike and visit. A place for great holidays!
The house is spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner was also very helpful in helping us figure out the hot tub. Thank you!
We were advised to use the private residents access road and it was in a disgusting state full of pot holes some very deep that the car dipped, loose gravel and my partner was worried about what it was doing to his car when using it. The main bedroom the wardrobe would not open, the doors were stuck so had to use twin room unit, the bathroom especially the shower door kept coming off their runners so had to keep one closed and squeeze in and the toilet was quite low down so anyone with mobility problems might find that difficult to use. The kitchen especially the oven, someone probably a previ...more
Great cottage and facilities close to lots of great walks, perfect for getting away from it all to relax with great views.
We had another fabulous stay in Deercroft 6, spotlessly clean, beautiful surroundings, everything you need is there.
Fantastic location Lodge disappointing poorly maintained poor customer service lacked finishing touches I would stay again for the location but would go with a open mind on the interior and cleanliness
Lovely cottage stayed here twice now on fishing trips with my sons. Very clean and very cosy we would certainly use again on our next trip.
Plenty room for all family & grandkids. All you need for a quite break, everything on hand for in house cooking. We took plenty of games with us. Did not need to as there was a large selection in the house. Thank you
If you’re looking for somewhere, well away from the madding crowd, then, the Tighnabruaich area, where the Musselshell Lodge is, is just the place. It’s overlooking the shores of Lough Fyne, which fill the view through the large sliding door onto your lovely wooden balcony. The lodge has all the modern comforts you could need. WiFi, dishwasher, lovely silent Mira showers! The electric car charger was such a welcome boon too. It’s about a half-hour drive to shops at Kyle and Tighnabruaich, and the ferry at Portavadie for Kintyre. There are lovely walks around the Ballimore Estate where...more
A lovely cottage ,amazing views, very clean, the hamper provided was an added bonus. Plenty of parking. Lovely cafe at Blairmore
Just returned from 10 days at The Lookout. The property is in a stunning location and the glass frontage makes the most of this. However, we did have a few niggles with the property and feel there are some changes which if implemented would have meant a 5* review. On arrival the cleanliness was not acceptable. This was raised with the letting company and the owner/cleaner did then contact. A further clean was offered by the owner but by that stage we had cleaned ourselves. Following our raising with the letting company no further communication was received from them following up the issue. The...more
Apartment was in a fantastic location overlooking the sea. Everything we needed was there. We did need to contact the owner as we struggled with the heating but the response was quick and the problem resolved very quickly so no complaints. Beds were comfy but the bed in the main bedroom felt like a small double so only recommendation would be for a larger bed otherwise happy to recommend this property.
I thought Culzean House was good. The availability of a sauna and ht tub added to the value. Would have liked all of the rooms to have had en suite.
Stunning location on the shores of Loch Fyne, extremely friendly and helpful owners. Beautiful area.
The customer service we received has been amazing. The property was fantastic and the lads were definitely comfortable.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
Perfect setting, comfortable and homely accommodation. Easy walk to Crinan Hotel and locks.Crinan our favourite place in the world and this is now our favourite location to stay. Very relaxing. Sublime in the good weather - we watched the Sound of Jura from the balcony in many changing scenarios - sun set, sunshine, mill-pond, clear sky and moody lightening - excellent.
We have been visiting dunoon for the last 15 years, me and a few friends have our annual deer stalking week with whinston Churchill and was great to stay somewhere that was only 5 mins down the road. The cottage was ideal for what we wanted and will definitely be staying again.
