The best things about the room was the very large shower, large bed and the biscuits! It was quiet and peaceful.
Had the most fabulous time at St Abbs, beautiful house, and the views are just out of this world. Everything you could need is available in the house, and the beds are super comfortable 10/10 We looked the whole view from the balcony watching all the boats & cruise ships going by. I couldn't recommend St Abbs enough it jas everything to offer and more, we will definitely be booking for longer next time.
We had the most relaxing stay at Coorie Braw, so many Lovey touches, Rae and Justin have thought about everything, beds very super comfortable and the place was spotless!! Would highly recommend this place, we will definitely be returning.
Stayed the week here with family and friends, couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more. The location and stunning views were just beautiful. All the facilities in the house were faultless. We will deffo recommend in the future :)
My stay at Fyne Rooms was perfect, comfortable, clean, stylish rooms in a great location in the centre of Tighnabruaich village. Could not ask for more, we will be back!
This was our second stay at this lovely cottage as it is very convenient for our needs. The welcome pack was great and the cottage has everything we need. A very comfy stay!
An excellent, cosy cabin to escape from the world, yet located in an area with so much to do. The host was super easy to contact, communicate with and provided limitless help and information. The hot shower and comfy beds topped it off. Cannot recommend enough.
First time staying in Tighnabruaich and the accommodation we chose was fabulous and the views spectacular. Weather was a bonus.
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment! Great communication and we are looking forward to our next stay!!
Excellent house, which was used as a base to explore the area. We had very good weather more or less when we were there (mid-May 23 for a week), which helps. Not many midges about! The house was clean and comfortable with large kitchen area and dining area with two of all major white goods (two ovens, fridges, microwaves etc.). Red squirrel watched us each breakfast most mornings. Three (very) large bedrooms upstairs with en-suites, which we used (we were a party of three couples). One bedroom downstairs with separate bathroom and I believe the house can accommodate up to ten. The v...more
We are returning customers in Dunoon, as we periodically work in the area. The accommodation is well equipped with all you need when you are away from home. Nice place to have a good rest and to explore the beautiful natural surroundings.
Had a wonderful stay here.Lovely family house which has everything you need and more.We had a 10 month old baby with us and it was perfect for him too .Host was very helpful .Totally recommend it .
The flat is very comfortable and situated just across the road from the water. The views are magnificent. We found the hotel nest door to be welcoming and reasonably priced, and the general store underneath very convenient. Altogether just about perfect! Small criticisms - there is very little space to hang clothes and a shortage of hangers. Also I have never known such a heavy duvet and we had a heatwave. There were no options eg blankets.
Me and four friends stayed at Raj’s awesome Fyne Rooms as a night stop over on our five ferries cycle weekend. Arrived late and soaked - the lovely rooms were a Godsend! Also, Raj lent us the use of small shed to lock our bikes up. Also despite being fully booked up & really busy, Raj and his lovely team Nathan & Tabby(?) cooked us some really tasty pakora and nan wraps. I would not hesitate recommending. Thank you guys, Tony
Absolutely amazing cabin, very private surrounded by beautiful scenery. Everything provided for a relaxing stay, and Louisa was a brilliant host, extremely welcoming with lots of recommendations and always on hand to make sure our stay was perfect. 10/10, will recommend to friends and family and will definitely be back!

We spent the most peaceful 5 days here. Best equipped kitchen we have ever experienced in a number of years of self catering accommodation. Loved the setting. We would love to return. Thank you ☺️
Stayed at Blairlagan Lodge my Brother, Son two dogs and I accommodation was second to none comfortable, spacious, and everything we needed was provided didn’t want for anything nice welcome pack on arrival lovely view from sitting out in the porch plenty garden furniture owner Lisa also came round to make sure we were okay and was very helpful we will definitely be going back Thanks
Amazing views. Very comfortable, fabulous lounge, dining area and main bedroom. Can't understand why it's not fully booked over the summer. Very quiet area, great to really switch off and spend time walking or with the binoculars.
The cottage location is brilliant, accessed via a private drive leading to the cottage and the owner's house. The surrounding grounds are exceptional and there is a nature walk taking 45-60 minutes through woodland which is accessed from within the grounds. We travelled to Argyll via Western Ferries from Gourock to Hunter's Quay - a 20 minute crossing. Heronlea is less than 10 minutes drive and depending on the road you take you can drive without going through Dunoon centre or via Dunoon where you pass two supermarkets - Morrisons and the Co-op. One day was particularly wet so we drove to ...more
We’ve just returned from a wonderful 10 night stay at this beautiful cottage in Strachur, Argyll & Bute. The property was immaculate and superbly maintained, with every possible comfort and convenience thoughtfully provided. The highlight for us was the upstairs living area, perfectly designed to make the most of the breathtaking views over Loch Fyne. Its location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area, whether discovering the beauty of Argyll and Bute or venturing further afield. Peaceful, scenic, and welcoming, this cottage truly felt like a home away from home. We wouldn’t hesitate t...more
When we arrived our whole family was impressed by the cleanliness and spec of the flat. From the lounge furniture, to the beds, towels, shower, bathroom, crockery, plates and everything in between we couldn’t have found better or fault anything in the flat. Everything in the flat felt brand new so we could see and apple the owners had done everything in their power to make this flat so comfortable, clean, accessible and enjoyable for us their guests. The only downside to the property - which we feel may just be out of the flat owners control - was the close entrance hallway. The front door ...more
Lovely bungalow overlooking Bute . Perfect location for exploring Kyle’s of Bute surrounded by lots of walks . Recommend Kilbride Bay and The Bothy at Kilbride Farm , Carry Farm for fresh lobster and Langoustine to buy and ferry to Tarbert and circular walk past castle. We managed to walk daily despite the rain but unfortunately unable to sit outside and enjoy the view as so wet Kames local store very handy too !
Had a great weekend stay at Bay View Cottage with my husband and son...the view is totally stunning and we spent our evenings looking out over the loch, watching the gannets and seagulls flying over, as well as a seal swimming past a couple of times The cottage was spotlessly clean and we arrived to a welcome by a bottle of prosseco chilling in the fridge, as well as a few other goodies, much appreciated, thanks :)
A lovely cottage in which no expense was spared by the owners, situated by the banks of the Canal, so close to passing yachts etc that verbal communication was possible. The amount of traffic in the canal was impressive and my partner and I spent many hours sitting outside in the garden enjoying watching all that was going on. Walks on the canal pathway were our daily exercise and highly recommended. We slept in the bedroom overlooking the canal and the bed was “brilliant”, so cosy and comfortable. The downside of staying in a semi remote location is mobile phone reception is poor and tv r...more
Freeland Cottage is a beautiful home, loads of space and so warm and comfortable, everything you could possibly need is provided and the owners are extremely helpful and easily contactable, it snowed while we were there and they even brought us a bag of rock salt for the path without being asked We wouldnt hesitate to stay here again, the location is perfect for everything in and around Dunoon and the area is spectacular, lanscape and views to die for!
Well. What can we say? Aldersyde was such a wonderful home away from home. We walked in to a warm and cosy house. It didn't have that holiday let feel. You felt you were being welcomed into a home. The house was clean and tidy, had everything we needed for a comfortable 2 week stay. The beds were really comfortable with lovely bed linen, plenty of loo roll which is a rarity in holiday lets and ample cleaning products for the two weeks. Lovely, well appointed bathrooms. The pool room was great for the teenagers. The games room entertained on the odd soggy morning. The location was perfect, n...more
Huge house - which was modern clean and very comfortable Good Location Great that it’s fully accessible
This was a fantastic property in a stunning locations. We booked for guests that were coming to the gallery opening in the village and they had a fantastic time.
Lovely property with superb views and location. We were blessed with great weather during our stay which certainly helped. Hosts were lovely people
The cottage is in a beautiful location with fantastic views which you could look at for hours. It was comfortable and the kitchen area was very well equipped although there only seemed to be 5 chairs at the dining table even although there were six of us.The garden was not secure for a dog and this could be solved by fixing the gate. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and hope to return.
Have stayed at Lil’s cottage for many years. It’s always good and this year it seems to improved.with new furniture and more comfortable bedding.
Easy to find, very well equipped, tastefully decorated, and very warm and comfortable. Creation of a front outdoor seating area a good addition.
Lovely place to stay. Well-equipped and comfortable. Great location and perfect for walking. Many thanks
We (2 families) stayed a week in this really nice and cozy accomodation. We found everything we needed, the kitchen was really well equipped, the 3 bathroomes were new and very nice. The furnishings of the rooms are really great, we really felt at home in this house. The surrounding is exceptional and nice quite and every day we enjoyed the view to the ocean. There was a small problem with the shower at the start, but the caretaker took immediately care of it. We would come back any Time.

Lovely lodge ,beautiful views, peaceful home from home .has everything you need ,looking forward to go back again soon
We had a wonderful.stay at The Old Store.... The location was stunning and the history behind the house made it all the more beautiful. My 12 year old son and our dog Reggie went on loads of short trips driving around in our VW Van Betsy to discover Old forests, castles and secluded beaches and a wonderfully sea trip to spot Eagles and much more. What a wonderful part of the world the Argyll coastline is. Cairnbann House is the ideal place and location to explore all of this part of Scotlands Glory.
Lovely well appointed apartment. Great walking from the front door - minutes from the Crinan Canal. Lovely shops nearby. Amazing views from the flat.
Ard Darach is a fantastic holiday lodge, the owners are great to deal with and our stay was perfect. The huge living room window gave us hours of fun watching the birds and Red Squirrels feed and play all day. The lodge is well laid out, comfortable and spotless. It feels more like a home than a holiday let. The site is quiet, feels secluded, but is a quick drive to the shops. We will go back, for sure. Our dog loved the stay as well.
We travel to the Cairnbaan area frequently but this was the first trip to Shelburne. We usually stay in separate accommodation but chose Shelburne to stay together. A delightfully quirky property that is well equipped and designed for a few families to stay together and make many happy memories. We will most certainly be returning! The local area has many hidden gems, forestry walks, trips to the Islands, decent restaurants to name but a few.
This was our second visit to Nursery cottage, unfortunately the weather was very similar to our previous visit in December (except the rain was warmer this time). As before, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need for a peaceful stay. This time we were entertained daily by a red squirrel raiding the bird feeder. It's the perfect place to chill out. We will definitely visit again.
We have just had a fabulous stay at Kames View. Well equipped apartment with everything you need for a comfortable Stay. Spotlessly clean and perfect location. The beds were so comfy. We loved everything about it and will definitely visit again.
We loved our stay, the accommodation was perfect and it was great to have so much space! The games room and log fires were well used, as was the beach which was great for swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding and kayaking. The kitchen had everything we needed and the seating area off it was a stunning place to take in the views. Also great to have board games and books to dip into. The local shop was good for extra supplies, and would highly recommend Kames Hotel for a meal out.
Arthur’s Seat gave us everything we wanted! Yes, the steps up are steep but adds to the charm of the cottage and rewarded with the most spectacular view when you reach the cottage. Perfect for 2 and great location. Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable home from home stay. Communication with the owners was easy and friendly. We fell in love with the area and the added bonus of how friendly the people are. Looking to return later in the year and eventually move permanently! We’re looking to move to Kintyre but South Cowal has completely won us over. Turns out my mother went to schoo...more
Property was clean, homely and welcoming, if a little tired in places. The location is perfect for relaxation, with spectacular views over the Clyde from the front windows. Shower was amazing, and the kitchen was very well-equipped for a holiday let. I didn't find any of the furniture particularly comfortable, but I guess that's just personal preference (eg. the bed was WAY softer than I'm used to). The communication from the owner was generally good, and there were some nice touches on arrival, with staples like bread, milk, eggs and butter being provided, along with some biscuits and pres...more
Lovely new property at the back of Lochgilphead. Only a 10 minute walk to the shops and 15 minute to the shore. The Crinan Canal is only a 5 minute walk and Lochgilphead golf course is a well maintained, short 9 holes course. We had a lovely relaxing stay
Me and my partner and dog stayed here for 4 nights as always had a lovely and peaceful time amber lodge is just amazing we know have been 4 years in a row now and look forward to our return thank you Joyce
Kames and the property are ideal for cycling and kayaking. Views from inside are limited but outside chairs are comfortable. Limited storage and small fridge but clean and comfortable with lots of great eating places not far away.
Hi dish washer broken No keys for gun safe No toiletries in bath rooms Very little loo roll and told to buy our own No dishwasher tablets or washing machine powder Logs poor quality and not many Just little things let it down
This property is advertised with private parking but there isn't any. You need to park out of sight on the street and access the property down an alleyway and across a neighbours yard, which is littered with debris. I advised Argyll Self Catering of the error in the listing but 6 weeks later this has still not been rectified.
We are returning customers in Dunoon, as we periodically work in the area. The accommodation is well equipped with all you need when you are away from home. Nice place to have a good rest and to explore the beautiful natural surroundings.
The house is really cozy and has a great Layout . It is also equipped with everything you need for a holiday. It has already been booked many times, which is now noticeable in the furniture. Unfortunately, it was not very clean. In the bathroom, there were still beard stubble from the previous tenant's shaving in and around the sink. And in the kitchen, the coffee machine and kettle had also not been cleaned. But all the cleaning supplies were available, so we were able to take care of it ourselves. The garden furniture in the shed really needs to be cleaned. We didn't use it, because it looke...more
It was very comfortable, warm and clean, with lovely views. I loved the wood interiors and the fireplace. The shower was a little weak and ran a bit hot and cold, but I think that can be expected from a cabin out in the country. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it completly.

Mark and Alison are great hosts. They go above and beyond to make your stay is very welcoming, peaceful and comfortable. This was my second stay at their cottage. It's the perfect getaway to do some soul searching. Hiking, walks, travelling to other costal towns were they are easy to get to from the cottage by car. There's also a bus stop on the main road if like me, you don't drive. Suitable for loan travellers. A romantic break or go with a friend. Their cottage has everything you need for a home from home. Having the log burner adds to the atmospheric surroundings of the beautiful Sc...more
Just returned from a relaxing break at this beautiful lodge. Decorated to a high standard and immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will be back.
A lovely log cabin in a lovely setting . My thoughts are that it would suit two adults comfortably. We were 3 adults and for example the settee easily seated 2 . With 3 it was too close together , for us anyway . We found all the notices of ‘don’t do this or that ‘ a bit unwelcoming and we have stayed in log cabins many times before . And in fact left Iona cabin to go to one on the Ardnamurchan! It was fine for 3 days and we enjoyed our stay as we are nature lovers and photographers!
The cottage is attached to the main house is the most stunning grounds with beautiful views of loch Fyne. It is very well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. The website did say there was a tumble dryer and fridge with ice. There is no longer a tumble dryer anda big freezer and new fridge is in place. The 3 bedrooms are pretty and a good size and the beds are so comfy it’s hard to get out of them. Plenty drawer space but lack of wardrobe and hangers. The living room is a mixture of furniture and quite dark - could do with a bit of a makeover. Lovey big bath and good shower with Plenty boiling h...more

Better to stay in summer time, muddy and windy in winter. We had power cut when we arrived at the cottage. The owners didn't let us know about it until we checked in and find out there is not electricity and heating, we called the owners to ask how to turn the power on and they said there is a power cut on site. So we were without electricity and heating on a 22/12/2024. We did survive the first night how some with 2 kids and a dog, but the next morning there were still not power back. The owner said we can go for meal and keep the receipt and claim the money back. Of course we went for break...more
A lovely cottage set in a stunning location. Very clean and had everything we needed. It’s situated in a stunning setting and was just what we were looking for for a weeks break .
Comfortable 3 bedroom flat, on the coast above an Indian Restaurant. The pub next door serves good meals although not every night. No off street parking but the pub don’t seem to mind you using there car park if you eat or drink there. All in all well equipped.
We had a lovely 6 night stay at Cockleshell Lodge. The location and view are amazing for walks with the dogs and it's just steps from the beach. Pub within walking distance had really good food. Be aware that the nearest shop is quite a drive down a single track road, so it's worth bringing some provisions with you. The lodge was well equipped with cooking utensils, comfy beds and plenty of towels. TV reception is weak but the internet was absolutely fine. The hosts managing the property were extremely responsive and friendly. Our only suggestion would be to try to make some of the doors...more
Lovely 100+ year old stone cottage, nicely fitted out with everything you could possibly need, Clean & tidy and in a good location for visiting the various islands. Val the host was very helpful in providing information on where to go and what to see etc. Would we go again, most certainly yes.
We had a lovely few days staying in the idyllic spot by the lochside. The views from the cabin are stunning. It's incredibly peaceful and relaxing. It is isolated so make sure you take all you groceries! The local pub has great meals.
A wonderfully comfortable and luxurious house in a stunning location. Lots to do in the local area. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing break at this fabulous tranquil location. So private, surrounded by trees, none of the other lodges were visible from ours, great close by views of the loch from the living room and the master bedroom. 20 minutes walk along the edge of the loch to the Oystercatcher pub only renovated and reopened four weeks earlier, provided excellent food and local Fyne Ales beer, sitting outside beside the Loch. Long single track road kept the place private and close to nature.
We found Alder Cottage situated in a very scenic spot, however our first impressions of the cleanliness was very disappointing. On arrival we entered the cottage and as the light was fading I turned on both floor lamps either side of the fireplace., unfortunately they both were full of cobwebs and dust, the lights on the wall above the fire were also full of cobwebs. The 2 sofas in the living room obviously had not been hoovered as there were a load of crumbs and food under the cushions. The first morning we went to make breakfast, I lifted the frying pan out only to feel grease on the base ...more
We enjoyed our stay at The Lookout - such a beautiful location. With great local businesses to support just around the corner. Thank you to everyone involved in our stay.
The cottage was set in a lovely private location over looking the sea/loch FYNE. It was absolutely dog friendly (but we still took throws & baby gate) Our dog fudge is an 11 year old cocker that needs to be nosey any chance he got straight into the loch. Would ideally recommend if want a relaxing retreat.
As a family of 12 ranging in ages from 6 to 93!!!! we all had a fantastic stay, the house was very cosy and clean and provided everything needed, the hot tub and sauna were an added bonus and were used by us all, the photos for this property do not do it justice at all, the owner was very responsive with any questions we had during our stay
The cabin has a lovely view towards The Holy Loch however it is partly obstructed by the fantastic trees. The property is a good distance from its neighbours so there isn't a problem with being overlooked. Inside the property has a comfortable lounge that leads on to the raised deck; a well equipped kitchen, although the dishwasher had a handwritten sign saying it isn't working with no indication when it will be fixed. The 3 bedrooms are adequately furnished and a reasonable size. The combined bathroom/toilet is fine however the bath is quite high sided and could present a problem for some peo...more
The customer service we received has been amazing. The property was fantastic and the lads were definitely comfortable.
I am sorry to have to say the following. The decor of the cottage is very dated and worn. For example: the upholstery of the chairs of the dining room chairs is broken, the control knobs of the heaters are broken, window of the upstairs bedroom cannot be closed, the bath towels and kitchen linen are a little worn out. But there was a surprising welcome package with fresh eggs and delicacies.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
A great holiday retreat, fantastic location with superb views of the surrounding hills, come rain or shine. Well equipped and spacious accommodation within easy reach of Dunoon and the delights of the Cowal peninsula. Three generations of our family ranging in age from 5 to 70+ years all enjoyed our stay.
