Enjoyed our stay. Amazingly quiet. No traffic noise. Great views of the countryside and sheep. They have 2 lovely, friendly cats on the grounds, we enjoyed stroking and spending leisurely time with.

We recently stayed at the Old Stable, Cartole Cottages for the second time and had a wonderful stay! The cottage is in a great location for local beaches & walks and is kept in immaculate condition with everything you need.
Karl the host is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble if you need anything extra. We hope to visit again!

It’s home away from home, very friendly and accommodating hosts/landlord, who made every effort to ensure my stay was comfortable. The cottage and surroundings are well kept, quiet, well laid out with all the modern conveniences offering guest peace and tranquility… I highly recommend if you staying as a family for holiday or just temporarily passing through, Cartole Cottages is the place to stay.

I can’t fault the the place we stayed at it was perfect we will not go to the West Country anymore simply because the parking was an absolute ripoff in Looe , and all other places you need a mortgage to pay all the car parking facilities and shops were ultra expensive so we will take our customer somewhere other than the West Country

The Old Stable affords compact but comfortable accommodation, big enough to share with an elderly golden retriever. The setting is peaceful and beautiful countryside (if you are happy with sheep baaing), and the play field equipment was loved by the youngest of our family in another cottage. Our hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, and dealt with any issues (including Wi-Fi signals that came and went) very promptly.

We spent two weeks with our two dogs in the cosy Old Stable Cottage. A peaceful location and within easy distance to all that Cornwall has to offer. Hosts were very helpful and nothing was too much for them to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were lucky with the weather with it being extremely warm for October. Would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful holiday away from it all.

I booked into Cartole Cottages, Stable, for two weeks in August. It was looking even prettier this year, with huge white roses growing against the wall and a host of petunias bursting out of the window box. As always the cottage was stocked with everything I needed for a perfect summer stay and the bed was amazingly comfortable with the crispest of white cotton bedding. The hosts think of everything and no expense is spared for comfort and luxury in a holiday cottage. The situation is perfect as well, away from the beaches enough to be quiet and secluded but near enough to be able to walk to a beautiful cove. I have my favourite beaches but also explored new ones this year as well as going to Looe and Fowey and the gorgeous Duchy Garden Nursery. I swam and read, walked for miles, climbed rocks, drank Cornish cider and ate lobster on the Quay. I am feeling fitter than I have for ages. I didn't want to leave. At Cartole you are always given the warmest of welcomes and the best of British summer holidays. Another idyllic summer at Cartole!

This was our first time renting a self catering cottage. On arrival we were greeted by Karl who made us feel completely at home and comfortable. EVERYTHING about the accommodation and location simply couldn't be bettered. Both Karl and Miles treated us like friends not customers. We had a wonderful time there.

I just cannot fault this cottage in any way, from location to cleanliness it is just superb. The hosts are very accommodating and go out of their way to make this a lovely experience for the guests. The facilities are 1st class , you will not be disappointed .

It started and continued amazingly. Karl let us in early, as we arrived in the rain. The field to walk our dog was just the same as home. Everything in the cottage appeared new and very clean everywhere. The power shower was lovely and the water is soft - we have hard at home and I forgot and used too much shampoo the first time. It is so close to everything, Looe being 4 miles away and the Eden project half an hours drive away. We will definitely be going again.

What a superb cottage, hosts and location, every thing is thought about for the visitors comfort and relaxation, I would have no hesitation in booking again. Plenty of almost on the doorstep car parking, lots of amenities for every age group , even the use of a washing machine and drier. I just cannot imagine a holiday cottage that excels this one, a real credit to the hosts Miles and Carl.

Wow ! What a beautiful place. The stable was a fantastic base for our 7 day holiday. It was so clean and lots of thought had gone into the layout and decor. The welcome hamper was a lovely addition.We did not want to leave as it had that special effect of making you chill as soon as you walk in the door ! We will return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The cottage felt quite luxurious with every possible convenience including under floor heating in the bathroom.
We and our dogs were very comfortable there.
Impressed with the well equipped laundry room near by and with the dog friendly outside area.
We were fortunate to enjoy warm weather during our stay .It may have been a bit problematic in wet weather with dogs, due to cream coloured carpet in lounge.
We plan to return soon !

New owners very nice it would have helped if a courtesy call had been made re settling in ,but all in all there was nothing to compile about the WiFi code in book needs updating as no WiFi but it was nice to have a complete break .

After 15 or so years we decided it was time to return to Cornwall and, in particular, pay another visit to the Eden Project which had just opened the last time we were in the area. My wife came across Cartole Cottages in her WI magazine and it seemed to fit our requirements. Our cottage (The Old Stable) was ideal for two people, comfortable, well equipped and we have no hesitation in recommending Cartole - but you really must have a car unless you are avid hikers!

Fantastic location. Perfect for couples and your pet pooch. The other cottages are great for families. Best holiday in a long time. We visited Looe and Polperro which are so close both fantastic places. Very quaint and picturesque. The weather was good for us most days and we found some lovely dog friendly places to eat. Some of the beaches nearby are god friendly too. The gardens are very pet and child friendly as not near a main road.

Lovely cosy and immaculately clean cottage with good facilities for children (play area) dogs(field to run through, my dog loved it!) and washing/laundry room.
The owners and their dogs are friendly and helpful and provide a nice welcome pack on arrival.
The cottage provided a good base for our first trip to Cornwall, we will visit again.

The setting of the cottages is very picturesque, approached along a quiet Cornish lane. Geoff and Steph were very welcoming and hospitable. The Old Stable Cottage was immaculately clean and all fixtures and fittings were modern and well thought out. The garden surrounding the cottages is a particular feature, with a private outside dining space for each cottage surrounded by fragrant plants. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the lovely Cornish countryside, towns and beaches. All in all this was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in a bright and cosy cottage.
