Immaculate and beautifully presented cottage. Everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay. Super comfortable bed with high quality bedding. Very quiet for a good nights sleep.Small but perfectly formed kitchen which is well equipped. Private sunny patio with lovely furniture. Beautiful gardens. Washing machine and dryer and freezer for guest use at no extra charge. Karl is the perfect host who genuinely cares about his guests.

Our second visit to Cartole Cottages in 3 years and we were so pleased to return. There are of course cheaper options in the area, but having such a lovely and peaceful place to stay makes an enormous difference. Carl and Miles were super helpful. We had some elderly relatives over to sit outside in the beautiful back garden area and Carl rustled up an extra parasol for us and moved the tables around.

We had the most beautiful weather I've ever had in a week in Cornwall so it's revealing that we enjoyed coming back to the cottage in the early evening to cook together and relax.

And oh! The beds! More comfortable than ours at home. Everyone slept so well. My partner has ordered the pillows ;)

We had a wonderful stay in the Linney. Our two young sons (6&2) spent several days playing in the amazing play field and relaxing on the patio. It’s so close to Looe for the beach and an ice cream and some great National Trust days out nearby too. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Absolutely brilliant stay at Cartole Cottages last week. We hired The Linney which was just delightful. The cottage itself and all the grounds are immaculate, comfortable and cosy. They had thought of everything, from the tea, coffee, sugar and milk on arrival to the free washing machine, tumble drier and all cleaning materials which just made the stay that much easier.
Karl and the team could not have been more welcoming, taking us on a tour when we arrived and giving so much information on local activities, handy hints and tips, etc.
We will absolutely be returning with our family and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay at a beautiful cottage!

Fabulous. Owners onsite, greeting on arrival and quick tour around the grounds, most helpful in quickly getting our bearings. The cottage is small, warm and cosy. Comfortable sofas and beds, spotlessly clean. Surrounded by countryside, it really is a lovely location. Close to Looe and neighbouring villages with small village stores, larger shops in Bodmin and Liskeard. We stay in Cornwall a lot, parking is usually an issue, Linney cottage has parking outside the front door, so much easier for unloading and bringing in the shopping. Dog friendly, with plenty of space in the grounds to walk the dog on a lead, or stretch their legs at the back of the field facing cottages. If you want a relaxing quiet getaway this is it.

Well what do I say about these cottages. Just come back from hols here for the 2nd Yr in The Linney and are booking for the 3rd . Karl &Miles the owners welcome u as soon as you arrive and make u feel at home . Standard of cleanliness in cottages is superb . Free laundry room on site and a huge park for little ones . Some of the cottages are dog friendly and they have a large field adjoined to the site where u can excercise the dogs . I have 2 cocker spaniels and it was perfect for them . The cottages are set in beautiful gardens with most beautiful views from them all. Like I said the cleanliness is 2nd to none especially in our dog friendly cottage which I have never found b4 . All utilities were provided eg hairdryer, iron etc there. Karl &Miles live on site so any probs are dealt with straight away.They are very knowledgeable about area and recommend to all best places if asked. Def a 5* plus .See u next year both

Really lovely place to stay. The cottage was very comfortable and ideally situated for walking coast path and beaches. Karl was very helpful. Having the hottest and sunniest weather for the UK this year also helped!

What an absolutely idyllic place, I couldn't recommend cartole cottages more highly. The hosts are amazing and the cottages are immaculate and beautiful, and in an ideal location close to the beach and Cornish villages. Especially brilliant place to stay if you have children and dogs like we do! The playground is fab for children, and there are great dog walks nearby or in the grounds.

we have enjoyed yet another stay at The Linney and loved every minute. The cottage was impeccable as usual and Karl and Miles were very welcoming and helpful. We have stayed at Cartole twice now, different cottages each time but both were well appointed and comfortable. This time we stayed in The Linney, which was perfect. The location is very quiet, and it’s great to find a lovely cottage that allows us to bring our dogs.

Had a great stay @ Cartole Cottages mid June. Linney was very comfortable and well equipped. Nice having parking outside front door. Great location for seeing the local area with good walking and biking nearby. Hosts were also excellent, very friendly with good knowledge of restaurants and things to do. Beautiful countryside location, lots to do in the locality- good access to main routes for exploring further afield.

Our six day stay at Linney Cottage was as comfortable as it always is. Great attention to detail was even more in evidence this year with all aspects of compliance with the rules of the current situation adhered to. Knowing this made for a truly relaxed holiday.

I don't really know where to start. I never take the time out to write reviews but on this occasion I felt the need too. What a fabulous little hideaway. Me and my partner have 5 children between us, so to get any time alone is almost impossible. We found this little cottage and was completely blown away. We was greeted by the owners as soon as we drove in. Being there on the first weekend since the lockdown restrictions were lifted we didn't know what to expect. The grounds are amazing for couples and families. The cottage was immaculate! Everything looked brand new it was that clean. I can honestly say I have not ever stayed anywhere so clean. The couple that own the cottage clearly take a lot of pride in their properties and it didn't go unnoticed. There are pubs and shops a short and lovely 20 minute walk away and to we went out on several day trip to Port Issac and Polperro and Looe in the car just a short drive away. We are looking to book the cottages over Christmas and New Year with the children as we enjoyed our stay so much as was made to feel so welcome. They have a lovely barn with a big screen, pool table and lots of entertainment perfect if you went in a larger group. This place is amazing!! Yes this is an honest review and NO I did not know the owners prior to my visit. I had a fabulous time and did not want to leave!!

Outstanding accommodation, our cottage was very well appointed, cosy and spacious. Using the Barn as a communal area, meeting up with friends, also staying the weekend, was a major benefit. We were able to socialise, have meals together, play pool, watch films and party !!

We have just spent a few days at The Linney and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything is first rate from the crisp cotton bed linen, cosy sofas and well equipped kitchen right down to the ample supply of hangers (the latter often non existent!) . We have stayed here many times over the years and hope to be back soon. The owners are friendly and helpful and very welcoming.

We have enjoyed many visits to Cartole Cottages over the years, but this was our first visit following a two year break and the new owners taking over. It is self catering at its best. Home from home in every sense. The cottages are so comfortable and of a high standard. When the sun's out u can sit out on the patio surrounded by farms. The owners, Karl and Miles, have upgraded cartole cottages in a short space of time and make you so welcome. Went down by train and found it cheaper to hire a car for a few days to get around as taxi can be expensive if you want to explore.

Absolutely loved Cartole Cottages. Nestled in rolling green hills and close to Looe and Polperro, it's the perfect location to explore Cornwall. The cottage we stayed in (The Linney) was sooo comfortable and really felt like a 'home from home'. Karl and Miles (the hosts) were so helpful and accommodating and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. For me, it was the thoughtful little details that made the difference, like a lovely welcome basket upon arrival, gorgeous duvet covers and fluffy white towels and very importantly for self-caterers, a kitchen packed full of utensils and crockery, often lacking in other hired accommodation. In all, my husband and I had a wonderful stay and for us, our stay ranked as a holiday 'perfect 10'!

Our cottage was immaculate, with very comfortable beds and settees to relax after a hard day of visiting beaches and gardens in the area. It was equipped with everything we could possibly need. We appreciated the tasteful artwork - and the welcome basket of breakfast basics. Our dog accompanied us on our visit, but you would never have guessed it was a cottage where pets had been - it was spotless. We enjoyed having our own area outside to enjoy the sunshine, but being able to wander around the grounds enjoying the birdsong and meeting the sheep. We also really appreciated the little things, like having free access to washing and drying facilities
The cottage was well positioned to visit local beaches and gardens. Our hosts were lovely - really warm and helpful when we needed advice from them, but leaving us to relax in peace. They really supported us when we had car problems, suggesting a local garage (again great). We came away feeling Cornwall was populated by really friendly, generous people!
We look forward to visiting again and seeing the barn when it is completed and ready for guests to use for activities.

Perfect location - short distance by car between Looe & Polperro. A warm welcome from owners, Karl & Miles on arrival. Home from home comfort - the cottage was squeaky clean, well equipped and tastefully furnished. Lovely outside patio area to sit in the sunshine. Children's playground, laundry room and more innovations in a few months time to ensure this location is the best in the area. The only noise is the sound of the sheep. For the stargazers this is the place to go.

Another short break at Cartole Cottages to celebrate the 50th birthday of my twin and our partners. As always Karl and Myles went the extra mile to make our stay that extra bit special.
Every time we've stayed the place has been spotless and the host are superb. The cottages are well equipped and have everything you need for your stay, if it isn't there Karl will sort it out for you.
We enjoy the location as its superb for popping to all the main tourist traps in Cornwall, its nice to stay somewhere off the beaten track but close enough to civilisation.
Can never fault Cartole cottages be it location, accommodation and attention to detail from the 2 great owners.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at Cartole, Cottage was very well prepared and equipped and was warm on arrival. Cottage was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. The owners are on hand and more than happy to help with any questions / recommendations or just to chat. It has been a couple of years since we last visited but with new owners they have already started to make changes with all cottages having an outside seating area and the play barn has been demolished with works started to rebuild into a bigger and better family entertainment area. We will be back.

Highly recommend staying here, very comfortable cottage, everything brand new and best equipped cottage we've stayed in ever I think!
Great location for exploring the local area and beaches. Dog was made to feel welcome and the children really enjoyed the playground. Very pleased we found Cartole Cottages and we will be going there again.

First return visit to Cartole since the new owners took over. Glad to say they’ve maintained the high standards. Place is always spotless and the welcome pack is highly appreciated.
Great location for visiting places around Cornwall. Looe is great for eating but can’t beat the Crumplethorne inn at Polperro for top sea food, scallops are awesome. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, perfectly applied by the new owner Karl.

Nice cottage in an original building. We liked the styling and details that made it more like a 'home'. Service was good: the house was really clean, towels and handsoap in the bathroom were provided and at our arrival we found everything to make us a cup of tea.
As there can be a bit of a moist problem, we had expected to find an extractor fan in the kitchen.

We know how important really clean accommodation is to our guests. We are sorry that you had a problem with steam in the kitchen when you were cooking. We had not considered an extractor fan essential, as the cooker is located next to a double opening window, but perhaps we should review our decision.

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely welcome bag of goodies on arrival from friendly owners. Polperro and Looe very interesting and several coastal walks to try.

Our stay at Linney Cottage was probably the fourth, and probably ninth at Cartole. We always enjoy our stay here, it is perfectly placed out in the countryside, with every facility, particularly good for Children to explore and be themselves, perfectly placed for both Cornish coasts and the many attractions. Geoff and Steff are the ideal hosts nothing is too much trouble. Dogs are welcome, and we always enjoy the company of Twinkle (the little star) and Muffin. We have had the most relaxing holiday and will be back.

As this was our second visit to Cartole Cottages we knew what to expect.
An immaculate cottage in a great location to explore Cornwall.
The Linney is compact but has everything we needed, it's well equipped, bags of information, and a wonderful welcome pack.
We will be returning again, love the place & Geoff is great.

Anyone needing a relaxing break Carole is the place.Welcoming owners and a lovely cottage.the Linney being on one level suited our needs perfectly.Would highly recommend and would hope to visit again.could have brought little Twinkle ( one of Geoff's dogs )home with us as our dog met her love match.

Needing to extend our stay in Cornwall, I contacted Jeff at Cartole Cottages.
I very impressed with the accomodation and grounds, also it appeared that care had been taken
with regards to Health and Safety issues.
The Customer Service provided was both friendly and efficient, the Cottage was comfortable,
and information was provided regarding local sights , restaurants, taxi tariffs, etc.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Cartole Cottages.
