A lakeside Shepherd’s Hut retreat on Llyn Maelog, dog‑friendly, with a wood‑fired hot tub and wide open Welsh skies to truly switch off to.

What a place!! We had the best week in mid July, it was the perfect location to explore Anglesey but the highlight was the hut. Finished to a very high standard, clean and cosy, fantastic views over the lake with plenty of wildlife and the planes taking off from the nearby airfield to keep you entertained. Only a short walk to the village and some stunning beaches. 100% would recommend and will definitely be returning. The wine, coffee, cheese and biscuits on arrival was a lovely touch!

We had a wonderful week in this brilliant location. The huts are a brilliant design and furnished to a high standard. The welcome pack was fantastic and delicious. We adored the island and will be back next year.

A super stay in our favourite part of Anglesey. Super stylish and well equipped on the inside and a delightful woodfired hot tub on the out. Friendly owners nearby and on hand if you need them.

We had a lovely time at Owain’s Brace , the huts are in a fantastic position with an easy walk around the lake bringing you to the sand dunes and Oystercatcher a little further on brings you into Rhosneigr. The huts themselves have everything you need, comfy bed and lots of little extras that make your holiday perfect. Ideal spot for exploring Anglesey by car - will definitely be back - Thank you !

Wow. What an amazing place. Secret hide away from the world. Overlooking a private lake. With access to walks around it. Very safe and secure grounds for anyone with dogs. Our 2 bulldogs loved the area. Watching horses in the Field opposite. Cosy cabin, very comfy high bed, lounge chairs to sit and watch the world go bye and an amazing little log burner which warms the cabin well. Outside log burning hot tub which is very relaxing and peaceful. Highly recommend to anyone. Friends and family are already asking about it and wanting to go. Owners are very helpful and on call when needed.

An utterly charming shepherds hut with really luxurious touches ( robes ) which were excellent quality . We were staying to celebrate our ruby wedding and sitting out on the evening watching the sunset was beautiful . On arrival the wine and cheese was a lovely surprise and really appreciated . There are some lovely walks , and an easy drive to explore further afield with wonderful restaurants. The bed was so comfortable and resulted in a wonderful nights sleep . The only negative was neither of us wanted to leave we would highly recommend to others and look forward to returning

Anglesey is a beautiful part of the Country and Owains Brace was simply delightful. Stayed for 4 nights with my wife and our dog. We followed the directions and on arrival were unsure about driving past someone's house but set back around the corner is the shepherd's hut. The location is perfect and so peaceful. We arrived to a thoughtful welcome pack and the radio playing. We had perfect weather and the field lake and garden was ideal for our dog. The hut was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. We didn't try the stargazing outside bath, maybe next time. Do look up at the night sky when it's dark, I've never seen so many . A magical and relaxing break, we enjoyed sitting on the veranda, listening to the radio and watching the sun set each evening. The kind and friendly owners were on hand if you needed anything. The hut was extremely tranquil and private. The information pack is crammed with everything you could possibly need to know about the surrounding areas and all of Anglesey and there was a handful of wonderful books in the hut to enjoy with a glass of wine. We explored the whole island during our stay, having some lovely coastal and opted to spend our last full day relaxing at the hut and enjoying the sunshine and watching the jets taking off and landing at nearby Valley. We didn't manage to visit the Oyster Catcher which is a short walk away, but this looked very popular and dog friendly. There's always next time. The beach and sand dunes is a lovely walk near the pub and we drove to Rhosneiger for the beach but this is within walking distance too. The hut is enclosed and our dog very quickly settled in his new surroundings and like us had the most relaxing time. We will be back. Thank you.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed - it was so good we booked for an additional night the day we were due to leave!

The hut is far bigger than it appears and is filled with little luxuries everywhere. The bathroom is like something out of a 5* hotel and the bed is very comfy. There is a woodfired bath outside as well as a warm shower and it was amazing to use whilst sipping a glass of wine staring at the stars.

We awoke to horses just outside of the gates and the hut is within easy walking distance of Rhosneigr. I would thoroughly recommend and will.be staying again as soon as I can!

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay this August. The pair of joined shepherds huts gave plenty of space for the two of us and our ten-year-old Norfolk terrier. The welcome pack of cheese, wine, and biscuits was a lovely touch, and it was great to be able to walk to the Oyster Catcher, beach, and Rhosneigr by just following the path down to the lake. Would recommend without reservation.

Quite a surprise location when you get there carefully through the yard of the main house. Looks good on approach with the accomodation in a small area of garden backing directly onto fields and a great view over the lake Llyn Maelog . The two shepherds huts are split into kitchen and welfare and the other bedroom and lounge areas. Its compact but very nicely furnished with all amenities and stuff you'll need. Kitchen facilities are limited but enough and Id suggest eating out for larger meals. Access to Rhosneigr is very easy and we used the lake side path to get to the Oyster Catcher, the nearest restaurant / bar. This is great. And the same route to Broad beach, also great. A longer walk into Rhosneigr, say 25mins. Town is nice, busy at weekends, particularly hot ones like we had . Sandy Mount Hotel is also good. There's a couple of pubs in town which we didn't use. The 'harbour' beach as we called it was really really busy both with visitors and launching of boats off the beach, never seen this before, entertaining. Here's a tip, the owners provided a fan , we took a larger fan as we knew it would be a hot weekend and we had a dog with us. The huts are hot in hot weather, the fans didn't really make a dent tho' thankfully it was slightly cooler at night. Something to put up with . The location is great, the huts have a veranda to sit out on and a garden with sunbeds provided. Overall great.

We were expecting something special from this holiday and it over delivered. There really was nothing to fault. The accommodation, the location, the booking agents, the hosts... heck, even the sun shone the whole time we were there.

It was a holiday myself and my wife truly needed. We've been to some beautiful places in this country and Angelsey sure has some spectacular views. Forests that give way to golden dunes and sunsets that glow and burn over the Irish Sea. And it's so quiet.

It was so good we've booked again for next year. Perhaps the rain will fall and our experience will be different but we're more than used to that and it's never stopped us yet. And besides, what could be more peaceful than being in such a place if that were to happen.

Thank you.

Booked this as a surprise trip for husband, dog and me. Soon as saw the photos it looked amazing and too good an opportunity to miss. When we got there I was delighted to realise the place was every bit as wonderful as the photos showed. Incredibly relaxing, privacy, sandy beaches on your doorstep, easy to get to, increíble views, easy to use log fuelled hot tub. We will definitely return here every year. Worth every penny

We arrived to find lovely welcoming touches, a little decanter of sherry, fresh coffee, cheese and biscuits. There was also milk in the fridge. Our dog was treated too with a dog mattress, towel, bowl and dog treats. These things sum up the attention to detail throughout the huts. The kitchen is well equipped with bits of luxury like a cafetière. We had not realised the cooking facilities were 2 stove rings and a microwave not a conventional oven, our error. We managed to trip the electric on our first night by using the toaster and microwave at the same time, the owners soon sorted this and we didn’t make that mistake for the rest of our stay. We mostly cooked outside on our Cadac stove, enjoying the lovely views, glad we took it with us. The bathroom and huge bath with handheld shower was gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable. The decor is lovely, quirky, well thought out. Some books about wildlife and binoculars. We were worried about where we we store our clothes etc but we managed thanks to clever storage ideas in the huts, hooks, baskets, drawer under the bed. The area we enjoyed most was the outdoor area. We were lucky with dry weather so spent lots of time outside on the deck and enjoying the outside bath hot tub. The outdoor area is fenced so secure for our dog to explore. We walked straight from the huts around the lake everyday and Rhosneigr and it’s lovely eating places and beaches are only 15-20 mins walk away. We saw so much wildlife during our week and felt so relaxed. The huts feel like they have been created with so much love and care it’s a joy to stay in them. The owners were welcoming and helpful. Happy to recommend

Wow! We have stayed at Owain's Lake view (next door) a few times. On our visit in Feb we saw the Shepherd Huts being built. Once they became available we booked a stay here. Lisa & Brett have put everything into these beautiful huts. 2 connecting huts giving ample room. We arrived to the radio playing in the back ground (which was lovely). Milk in the fridge with some cheese and biscuits. Also a small caraf of sherry and a bottle of red wine. Such lovely touches. The dogs doesn't miss out either. They had biscuits / a bed / towel and blanket. They have thought of everything. There is even a beautiful sunken bath! The decor is beautiful. The bed is soooo comfy and has an amazing view of the lake. Two reclining chairs with footstools with a view of the lake. Lovely decked terrace with comfy wooden chairs. We sat out every evening watching the sun set. An enclosed garden with grass at the front. (great if you have dogs as they can wander and not get out). Everything in here is top notch. The kitchen is well equipped (better than any hut we've stayed in before). Hob/ microwave / toaster / kettle plus all the pots and crockery you should need & more. We didn't get chance to use the hot tub as it was so hot whilst we stayed here. Next time we'll come in the winter and make use of the hot tub and wood burning stove. Thank you Lisa & Brett :)

The accommodation is beautiful and the space has been used perfectly. You can tell how much effort has gone into make it feel spacious and comfortable; with the two huts braced together and set out so thoughtfully and conveniently, while the surrounding decking and patio windows add so much that feeling of “space”. Lisa & Brett really do think of everything to make the stay as pleasurable as possible.

It’s like a Tardis of luxury. The bed is sooo comfy and the bath is heavenly, you could happily while away the hours soaking in the tub…which we did  and the gorgeous wood burning stove is just begging to be used.

To be in such lovely accommodation and also in the middle of all the surrounding nature was such a treat. It was a perfect place to spend our anniversary and the long weekend felt so full you would have thought we’d been there for weeks. The view of the lake is amazing and the surrounding garden is so relaxing, all the worries of the world just evaporate in a place like this.
If you want somewhere to really really treat yourself than this is the place.

This ‘little gem’ of a property is situated in the most idyllic location in my ‘Happy Place’. Everything about Owain’s Brace is stunning and I was so sad to leave. The owners Lisa & Brett have made this the perfect place to enjoy your stay on Anglesey. Everything is perfect. It is truly a little part of ‘Heaven on Earth’ and I will never forget how I felt relaxing, listening to music and ‘soaking’ in the idyllic view. I never want to stay anywhere else now when I go to my ‘Happy Place’. Simply stunning.
