Recently stayed in the Selkirk with my profoundly disabled daughter and friends while my own home was being decorated. The disabled facilities are first class the lodge is comfortable and clean ,a true home from home. The kitchen is also very well equipped. I do object to being asked to strip the beds before you depart people are there for a break and it's difficult enough to leave by 10.30 am.Hotels do not ask guests to do this.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and for your comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed your time with us at Homelands and the lodge provided you with everything you needed and was homely. We are sorry that you felt it was inappropriate for us to ask for the beds to be stripped. Hotels do not ask for this but will also charge extra to ensure this is covered in the costs. We are a small charity who tries their best not to reflect greater cleaning costs towards our guests by increasing our prices to cover this and guests stripping their beds saves our team cleaning time and in turn keeps the cleaning costs lower. We do understand that there are circumstances where guests will not find this possible to do before check out. We do very much hope to see you again in the future. Kind Regards - The Homelands Team

The team were delighted with the accomodation, saying how fabulous it was, how comfortable the beds, and the equipment just about perfect. Thank you!

Just for information for any future stays, there is a set of Invacare padded cot bumpers in the wardrobe for use on the profiling bed which may have come in use for you during your stay. We are so glad to have booked up at Holmlands Trust, the service, facilities and location were second to none and we can't wait to get booked up again. Other guests there whether carers or family members in other properties were just lovely.

There is so much to do around the accommodation in Lundin Links with lots of accessible access for wheelchair users. Like everywhere having a manual wheelchair is easier for single step access to a cafe etc but more limited for an electric wheelchair when no ramps were available - we used the electric wheelchair and found no issues, we just did a bit of prejourney prep and clocked places we can try when out for a wander. There's lots of info in your accommodation and there's no issue in having grocery shopping prebooked and delivered for your stay or indeed takeaway if you want that.

The staff are awesome - warm, helpful and informative and there's nothing they can't do to help you get the best from your stay and help the carer have a break themselves too. The stay here for the week with my partner and his family couldn't have been better.

Great facilities, luxuriously presented with great furniture for all and plenty of room for our equipment (wheelchair, charging points, full laundry facilities, room for our walking frame, toilet facilities and trolley for equipment etc) I don't think anything wasn't catered for, even down to the apron in the kitchen which I was happy about. The big plus for us was the riser recliner chair and I must mention the the patio doors from the bedroom to the patio that my partner Bob could navigate himself in his chair. He loved just being able to roll out there in his chair for a coffee with everyone under his own steam. Just a superb time was had by us all!

This year a visit to a very new and spacious Selkirk Lodge.
Serene and relaxing with views of the sea, what more could we ask for.
All the equipment we needed with loads of room to manoeuvre a wheelchair.
One small niggle, the kitchen would be better with more lighting.
Thank you.

The brand new Selkirk lodge did not disappoint. However, the only minor points that would have made it more special were.

Additional lounge and patio seating to match the lodge capacity of 6 (4 seats provided). Lack of dressing mirror in the downstairs bedroom.

View from lodge was obstructed by a green shipping container.

Provision of a suitable squeegee for the wet room as mop left enough water that was dragged thought the entire bottom floor.

The layout of the lodge was good and made for easy access for our wheel chair user.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and for your constructive feedback. We do appreciate knowing where we can make adjustments. We are working on the removal of the green shipping container at present and are trying to find it a new home where it can be used by another local organisation. We have noted your points regarding the seating outdoors and the mop. We are also currently trying to find suitable spacing to hang new mirrors in the downstairs of our new lodges, some are designed differently and working around where the plug sockets are to allow someone to dry their hair whilst using the mirror is our consideration. We hope to action this soon. Thank you and we do very much hope to see you again in the future for another stay at Homelands. Kind Regards - The Homelands Team

We had a great 4 night stay on one of the new lodges ( Selkirk ) The lodge was immaculate and had a great view. The holiday homes are based in a lovely quiet area,( Lundin Links) Just 5 minute drive to Leven for supermarkets ( Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury's ) also Mc Donalds and B& M, Home Bargains
The lodge was really comfortable ,everything was brand new so we were being really careful when using electrical appliances !! Great wet room for showering our disabled adult daughter.
The one thing for us was a problem was the general waste bin. The general waste bin was full on the Monday when we arrived and by the Wednesday it was over flowing with the seagulls and crows picking open the black bins backs with rubbish strewn about the bin area. I wonder if the trust should consider another general waste bin? The opening of the new lodges will increase the general waste with more people in the lodges.

Hello Catherine thank you for your lovely review on Selkirk property. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to see you again in the future. With regard to the bins we do have two household/general waste bins. The newer bin has a label on it which reads General Waste and the older bin has a label which reads Commercial Waste. Both of these bins are for household/general waste. The names on the bins now that we have two bins seems to have caused some confusion for our guests. The Commercial waste bin was completely empty. Once we realised there was an issue we sorted out the problem. We have now also put up some new signage which we hope will clarify things for our guests.

Ideal for disabled people in a gteat location

Recently stayed in the Selkirk (new lodge) similar layout to the original ones.Again, the disabled facilities ie ceiling track hoist, adjustable bed, wet floor shower room etc are first class. The lodge was spotlessly clean, very spacious and the kitchen was well equipped.Unfortuanately we had issues with the plumbing (leaks) which Kim dealt with very promptly.
