What a fantastic place to stay. No complaints about anything. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed and that view! Highly recommend.
Owners at Sunnybrae meet us on our arrival. They were very friendly and gave us helpful advice about the location and surrounding countryside. The Lodge was pristine when we went in you would think we were the first to use it. The Lodge was very comfortable and spacious to stay in. The views out onto the sea were amazing.
My sister and I stayed at Sunnybrae in September, along with my dog, Kizzie. We used to stay here when we were children with our parents and older sister and have many fond memories. We stayed in Otter, and it was brilliant. We loved the views over the water to the hills, and could watch the ferry coming and going, as well as many other small vessels. We had hoped to see an Otter, alas we didn’t but seen many seals and lots of different birds from the caravan window. I would suggest you ensure you pack the binoculars. The van itself was clean, with comfortable beds. Kitchen was well equippe...more
Brilliant accommodation. Reccomend for a get away break. Island is beautiful to walk on with views of so many islands in all directions. Not much on the island (1 shop and 1 visitors centre) but it is the peace you would go for
Had a power cut due to a storm the owners could not do enough for us Sunnybraes is a great place and we will be back
Overall a great experience and Sunnybrae are fantastic hosts. Cleanliness and condition of the van were excellent and van was very comfortable. Views from the van are amazing especially at sunrise. The only suggestion I’d make is some kind of cooling for the van during the warmer months or insect screens on the windows which I know sounds weird in Scotland but weather was anomalously hot during my stay and this may become more frequent over time, That aside I’d happily come back and probably will.
The cottage is modern, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Everything was clean and seemed almost new. Prepared a three course meal using the kitchen equipment and was very pleased with the results. Views from each cottage are of the harbor whether the cottage is sea side or on opposite side of pathway. I will recommend Sunnybrae to all my friends who seek a peaceful holiday in the Scottish western isles.
The site is located literally one minutes drive from the ferry and is incredibly easy to find. The caravans and two lodges are well spaced apart and there's plenty of room for parking. The view is simply stunning and the caravan is nicely equipped with everything you're likely to need. The little 'bothy' has a freezer with local (tasty) burgers, sausages, buns etc and you can wash dry clothes (for a small charge) and there's a variety of book, games etc to keep you occupied! The only possible 'downsides' are the size of the bedrooms - you literally have to walk sideways to get into bed - howev...more
