This is our 3rd stay at Sunnybrae on the island of Luing and, as always, we were very well looked after by the Jaffrelot family. The caravans and lodges are right beside the ever-changing sea and wildlife abounds. Seals, dolphins, otters, golden and sea eagles can frequently be seen from all the caravans and lodges. The accommodations are spotlessly clean with everything from ample cutlery to comfy duvets that you could want for a stay.
Fantastic break at Sunny Brae holiday park , this was our 2nd trip to Luing we stayed here 2 years ago , we upgraded to the Orchid Lodge it was very roomy with full sized fridge freezer and cooker/oven. The living room was massive with separate kitchen area with loads of cupboard space good sized tv with dvd player, master bedroom was large with access to on suite bathroom / wet room which was also had access from living room -kitchen area.Outside was great with decking to front looking over the sea and decking to the side entrance, the views were exceptional ,the family who now own the site we...more
We stayed 2 nights in this accommodation. We had a wonderful time. The cottage is quite small for 4 people and a dog, but it was fine for a few days. The location is really amazing; from the cottage, you have a view of beautiful nature and you can see the seals swimming by. We made a very nice walk from the cottage to the visitor center in Cullipool. There we had a lovely lunch.
Location was peaceful and scenic. Caravan clean and well equipped Owner was very friendly. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely return again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and enjoyable holiday stay!
Absolutely love this location and is definitely our happy place! This is our fourth year staying at the caravan park and have already booked for next year. The owners are lovely and welcoming and both the caravans and site are well looked after. Thank you again and see you soon!! The Mackie's
Overall a great experience and Sunnybrae are fantastic hosts. Cleanliness and condition of the van were excellent and van was very comfortable. Views from the van are amazing especially at sunrise. The only suggestion I’d make is some kind of cooling for the van during the warmer months or insect screens on the windows which I know sounds weird in Scotland but weather was anomalously hot during my stay and this may become more frequent over time, That aside I’d happily come back and probably will.
Brilliant location with easy access to mainland if needed and the pontoon and slipway was great for us with the boat during our trip up for the Rib Rendevouz at Easdale. But need to be quick for booking the pontoon to keep boat afloat if prefered. Perfect location for peacefulness and very scenic area where all the staff were very welcoming. We will definitely be back at somepoint in the future
I wondered how a static site with last minute availabilty in July, and (decent prices) could have so many 5 star reviews. Now I get it! Everything about the place feels calm. The owners are happy to see you and friendly (and even brought us 4 freshly caught and filleted mackerel to cook on our BBQ!). The caravans feel clean, solid and new. The island is a 3 minute ferry ride across from the mainland, and isn't known for its beaches, which means no crowds of tourists. The islanders are friendly, the visitors are chill..even our crazy cocker spaniel relaxed after 24 hours, and just laid on...more
