Step back in time, take the five minute ferry from Seil over the Cuan Sound to Luing and breathe a sigh of relief. The island has a special atmosphere, a rhythm all of its own and it is quite addictive. Sunnybrae is a perfect base on Luing, the accommodation is all recently new and maintained to a very high standard, six large caravans and Orchid Lodge. Orchid lodge is new this year and larger, with room to spread out. Enjoy the wrap round balcony overlooking the sea. Fishing boats, sailing boats , small motor boats and more can be observed. Seals and Otters make regular appearances too.The vi...more
Lovely quiet site beautiful views owner allowed me to put my boat on his pontoon which was very good for going fishing every day would thoroughly recommend.
Great position Well equipped caravan Interesting island Thank you ...........................
This is our 3rd visit to Sunnybrae and everything was as we expected. The van was clean and well equipped with everything you would need for a self catering stay...except maybe we could have a perforated spoon for dishing up veggies please. The gas fire was very welcome as it tends to cool down in the evenings in October and we were quite cosy. The views are to die for both here and all over the island and the locals very pleasant and friendly. We visited the Atlantic Islands Centre for food several times which is very good value for money and were made to feel very welcome. We wouldn't hesi...more
What a spot to spend a truly restful and relaxing holiday! The site couldn't be easier to get to once you've crossed the ferry. The accommodation was very well maintained and clean offering everything needed for a comfortable stay, so much so we REALLY didn't want to leave! We shall return, hopefully to live!
If you enjoy walking and tranquility this is the perfect place for you, a truly unspoilt island that is perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of life.
We stayed for a short break in heron 5 and was amazed by the views and it's proximity to the sea. The static was well equipped and comfortable and was spotlessly clean. We would highly recommend.
Sunnybrae is just what the doctor orders, if you need a break from the hustle and bustle and demands of city life. Waking up to the sea views while taking in a morning coffee, with the occasional boat your only distraction, we couldn't have asked for a more relaxing holiday. The site manager it's waste and recycling responsibly and I was so pleased to see areas left as wildflower meadows to encourage wildlife. I'd highly recom...more
