We enjoyed a week in this beautiful lodge. Really well appointed and cosy; we felt relaxed from the first moment. We were lucky with the weather at the end of April and enjoyed our sessions in the hot tub looking out over the amazing views. Looking forward to returning later in the year.

This is our fifth time staying at Rivercatcher having stayed in the log cabins it is a beautiful place to stay the log cabins are exceptional everything to highest quality and everything that you need the lovely welcome pack was a nice touch this time the baby lambs were running up and down the field and the grouse were out as well you can just relax in the hot tub and watch them so peacefull and listening to the birds at night during the day I went over and sat in the sun inn in the garden and watched the river flow the staff are lovely if you need to find walks or places to eat etc just ask or each cabin has a folder giving you loads of information

The cwtch lodge was very comfortable and well appointed with quality bathroom fitting's and kitchen equipment. The hot tub is a nice touch with a glass of wine watching the local wildlife and scenery. It is ideally situated for many of north wales tourist attractions a bonus is being able to fish the river Dee adjacent to the lodges.

We stayed Monday to Monday for a relaxing weeks holiday. That's exactly what we had. Everything was perfect (even the weather). The cabin was spotless and well furnished. The little touches like the welcome pack and the bowls, blanket and ball for the dog made our arrival that little bit special. Staff were friendly and helpful. Views from the cabin and all around were amazing. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.

First time staying at this fabulous venue/location. Had a lovely relaxing experience for our short stay. Food ordered was delicious. Only slight negative was boarder of rear garden our dog nearly escaped through the conifers where previous dogs had also tried to move the thatching twigs by looks of it. Also not the main focus for our holiday but the internet was very poor which definitely needs sorting. If you want to stream TV on Firestick/Apps etc forget it. This would then make it 5 star all the way. Overall though thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed here with our dog in August for a Monday to Friday break. The cabin was absolutely fantastic and very modern and clean. Everything had been thought of as we loved the huge windows and views from the cabin. Every morning we would wake up, open the blinds and sit in bed with a coffee just watching the world go by. The gardens are all fully enclosed and plenty of seating provided. My only criticism is the privacy of the garden in Cwtch. The side bushes only come down so far and you can see into next door's garden from the hot tub. If they are in the garden, they have full view to your garden and hot tub - not a deal breaker as such but I would have preferred more privacy or chosen one of the outer lodges. We were hoping to walk to the village pub but this have now closed down so there's nothing really to walk to. Having said that, the area is so peaceful and if you have a dog, you can take them around the grounds down to the river - it's so lovely. The ground staff are lovely and friendly and often stop for a chat which was nice. We would definitely return but probably to a different lodge or try a cottage.

Everything was perfect! Our cabin was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and the kitchen contained a welcome basket which was a lovely touch. It had everything we needed - the team were very kind to provide us with a second frying pan so we could cook 2 separate meals (as I am a vegetarian). The views from the garden were spectacular, and the garden itself was lovely and secure, so our dog could be off lead to run around. The hot tub was wonderful, and was checked every day (the team were very discreet when they did so). We had a wonderful stay here, and would highly recommend to others! We can’t wait to hopefully return in the future.

We booked our stay with the full intention of doing nice walks, having a phone detox and clearing our minds of work with our little pooch. We did exactly that. These lodges offer stunning countryside views with lots of local little walks however you do have to walk down the country road first to get to the nearest walks. there is the river on the doorstep which was perfect in this hot weather for the dog to do a little bit of paddling. The lodge was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. The closed garden was perfect for the dog if i had any improvement suggestion it would have only been that the fence be filled in so dogs cant see the other dog next door to stop them barking or getting over excited. would i return? 100% yes! good value, very relaxing, fantastic staff couldn't ask for more.

This was our first stay in a log cabin and it was amazing. The cabin was warm and cosy, despite the howling wind outside for the first couple of days of our winter stay. Cwtch was well equipped and there was plenty of room for the two of us. The views from the cabin were breathtaking, and we loved just sitting watching the light changing over the hills and mountains, from the warm sofa next to the log burner. We would definitely like to visit again and stay in Cwtch, or any of the other log cabins at Rivercatcher.

Just returned from a lovely weekend in the Cwtch cabin at Rivercatcher and am already looking at dates for my return visit. We loved everything about rivercatcher and especially the cabins. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent week in "Cwtch" log cabin. The weather was very warm and sunny all week but we still enjoyed the virtually brand new hot tub and the comfortable garden chairs on the terrace, particularly early in the early morning and during the evening. All the facilities provided were as described, of a high standard and well maintained. Rivercatcher is in an excellent location for a wide variety of days out or for the more local area which has beautiful scenery. We would be very happy to return.

Our stay was amazing! We were so impressed by the quality of the cabin and thought it looked stunning. Every need was thought about - there was even a fan in place on arrival, in preparation for the hottest day of the year (which we really appreciated) Staff we’re friendly and gave good advice on where to walk our dog. The location was perfect - just a short drive to Bala if you want to go and see the Lake, but we also drove to Barmouth, did the Precipice Walk and visited Pistyll Waterfall. Myself and my partner are considering coming back in the winter months to make use of the beautiful log burner! Would highly recommend.

We have been to Wales a few times, so was looking forward to staying somewhere new and RiverCatcher did not disapoint! Beautiful views in an idyllic setting which was lovely and quiet. The log cabin was lovely and clean, and had everything you needed. The welcome basket was a lovely touch with lots of delicious food and drink. We stayed for a week and visited lots of places, nearby and also a little drive away. All info on things to do and places to visit was in the manual in our accommodation. What a perfect place to relax and unwind. Gorgeous log cabin with every need catered for. Superb cleanliness, comfy sofa and bed and a good entertainment system. The kitchen is very well kitted out with top of the range appliances. The hosts were very warm and friendly and extremely responsive. The area is beautiful with stunning views and you can walk to the local village which takes about 15 minutes plus there's a couple of good pubs nearby, one walkable and one a short drive. The enclosed garden makes it ideal for dogs. We will definitely be back.

We were very impressed with the quality of our cabin - pictures don't do it justice. Lovely quiet location perfect for a relaxing break. The large secure garden area is ideal for dogs. Hot tub was filled and maintained every day and we made full use of it. The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you need. This is an amazing place to escape to, very tranquil with loads to do in the surrounding area.
The cabins are excellent quality, really well equipped and impeccably clean. The team are round each day servicing the hot tubs and they really look after the place.
The garden is also fenced in and we had our small dog which means they can’t escape.
Loads to do from fishing, walking or a little Further afield lake and sea sports.

We have had the most relaxing stay at Rivercatcher, stunning Lodge with 5 star everything from views to everything in the lodge & area. Total privacy, friendly people that manage rivercatcher. Our lodge Cwtch was everything we wanted from a holiday, we would love to return.

Perfect view, massive decking area and the added luxury of a hot tub. Perfect location to explore Wales with so much under an hour away in all directions! Welcome hamper was excellent. Shower was also very good! Lovely grounds and it was great being able to walk down to the river and use the games room. My only issue (sleep mask fixed it) was no blinds on the top part of the windows so loads of light coming in early in the morning. The owner and staff were all friendly and helpful. We will be back!

Where do I start. The weather was fantastic for the time of year.(April) The views from Cwtch and all four lodges looking towards The Berwyn Mountains is calming and tranquil. And the lodge itself ? Just what it says on The Rivercatcher website. Five star accommodation. All the domestic appliances and facilities you need. My only gripe would be that we didn't get on with the gas cooker but that's a personal thing. The lodge itself was perhaps a little smaller than we imagined but there was enough space and we didn't feel cramped. The hot tub is an added bonus to soak tired limbs after a good walk. The staff were friendly and helpful and Aled, the onsite gardener, handyman etc was a fountain of local knowledge. So overall, we had a great weeks holiday and returned home much refreshed.

This was a beautiful place to spend a few days before Christmas 2020.
The cabin was very comfortable and well-equipped to a high standard. We could really make ourselves feel at home.
It was also very private - the only neighbours we saw were sheep and pheasant.
Takeaways from the local shop and restaurant were very tasty.
Staff were friendly but discreet, and the information provided prior to and during our stay was very good.
Hope to visit again at a different time of year.
We will be returning!

This was our first time to Rivercatcher and it gave us the perfect sanctuary away from a very long period at home on lockdown. The measures Rivercatcher have taken to keep everyone safe were very reassuring and the team were very helpful. It felt like a home away from home and proved to be somewhere within easy reach of some amazing days out. The cabin is beautifully equipped and cosy and we will definitely be back.

The attention to detail from booking, arrival, stay and departure is second to none. Everything to make your stay perfect has been thought of.
Our welcome basket was filled with local produce that was above our expectations, fresh bread milk biscuits, jam filter coffee and wine all delicious. We also pre-ordered a breakfast pack from the local butcher. This lasted nearly all week! Again good quality Meats and fresh tomatoes/mushrooms excellent.
The lodge was so cosy with very high end fixtures and fittings. From the bespoke kitchen with local slate worktops to the villeroy and boch bathroom, everything speaks luxury. Outside once again had everything we needed for relaxing with a book or just looking at the stunning views. The peace and quiet only added to the privacy the decking and garden gave you all day. The hot tub was another luxury after a days walking which day or night was at the perfect temperature. Although we didn’t use the gas BBQ again this was a full outdoor cooking system.
All the recommendations from walks, activities, restaurants, and pubs were well thought out. We did a few of the local walks which gave us stunning scenery as well as the chance to drive further afield, the waterfall at Pistyll Rhaeadr was stunning.
We must mention the staff at Rivercatcher. All of them friendly happy to help or offer local knowledge. They kept the grounds immaculate it was a pleasure to walk down to the river and sit with a different view.
All in all we couldn’t think of anything that would have improved our week staying in the Lodge at Rivercatcher a perfect ‘staycation’

Rivercatcher is the perfect getaway! Thoughtfully designed, well decorated, tremendously clean and in an idyllic location! The beds were cosy & comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped for any of your cooking needs and the hot tub overlooking the valley of sheep was the best way to end our day after a long hike. They had a blanket, a bowl, and a ball waiting for our pup and the most wonderful welcome basket for us; wine, bread, butter, biscuits, jam, coffee... what more could you want?! We also specially ordered the Welsh cheese platter ahead of our arrival and it was absolutely delicious! 12/10 would come again... and again and again! Needless to say, we'll be back.

Brilliant short stay at Rivercatcher. Decorated to a very high standard and they had thought of everything that you could possibly need. Quiet location and loved watching the lambs bounce around the field outside. Plenty to do in the surrounding area. We will definitely be back. Only minor quibble was the sofa could have been comfier. Which I’m sure is less important in the summer months when you would be outside.

Our 2nd visit here. Once again we loved staying for 4 nights. Although storm Dennis was with us , we still relaxed, used the hot tub and the log burner so it was so cosy . Can't wait to return. All staff amazing. Our dog Bella loves it too. Thank you Rivercatcher. Definitely recommend staying here.

Had an amazing weekend at this lodge. I was impressed by the cleanliness of it all and that everything was pretty much provided, from chopping boards, pans, utensils to basic essentials in form of a welcome basket. Would highly recommend this as a place to relax with a loved one. The only criticism I have it the air con system, we were quite warm in the lodge and couldn't get the room to cool down, perhaps more detailed instructions are needed.
Definitely worth a visit!

Rivercatcher is the perfect place to escape from the real world and recharge your batteries. This was our second year staying for our anniversary celebration and we will definitely be back next year. The cabins are so cosy and comfortable, it’s like being in a bubble (with a beautiful view and a hot tub....)! If you’re looking for activities we’d recommend the slate mines and there’s lots of beautiful walks around too. Can’t recommend Rivercatcher enough!

Rivercatcher was just what we needed. Living busy London lives, the best thing to do is escape to these luxurious cabins, chill in the hottub and walks in the mountains. The cabin was amazing, it had everything you can imagine and more, heating, fire, pots, pans, wine, bread, milk... and much more.

The log cabins are firstclass and situated in full view of the Berwyn Mountain range. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities and equipment top notch. We stayed for 7 nights. Being Octogenarians we did find the settee somewhat low and the kitchen island seating a little high. We spent 7 nights at Rivercatcher last year in an excellent cottage. If we are able to visit Rivercatcher next year we will reserve a cottage.

It was the first time in one of the log cabins we usually stay in one of the cottages, the accommodation was good no complaints, but the work that went on round us was not good we had to put up with strimming the road down to the cottages which got our nerves, but then they decided to start to mow the lawns around us, we did not let them mow ours, we were on holiday and were Not impressed, considering that we did Mon to Fri and the cottages have to be empty by 10.30 and there is no occupation until 1600 hrs so why not strimming and cut grass then when there is nobody there.

This is the second time we have stayed at Cwtch and simply love everything about it - the location with its panoramic view of the beautiful Welsh countryside, the very well appointed accommodation in Cwtch itself where seemingly nothing has been forgotten and everything is in very good condition with a fabulous shower, very comfortable bed, great kitchen facilities and lounge area. It is luxurious yet somehow simple to live there. We did not go in the hot tub this time but think it is a wonderful facility. The Rivercatcher site is very well looked after and it is good to have the games room and access to the river, etc. We know the area and come to visit relatives largely as my wife used to live here. Highly recommended for a myriad of reasons, just go there, don't prevaricate.

This log cabin is an absolute gem and perfect for a couple. The setting is lovely with beautiful views and quite often all you can hear is the sound of birdsong and, of course sheep. We stayed in these new log cabins for my birthday. It was located close to the areas we like to Mountain bike and was extremely well set up and very comfortable. It was a pleasure to stay in a property that was so new, that had more than the basic essentials in the kitchen (as we do like to cook)! My husband was very happy with the BBQ and our two dogs Leroy & Ziva were very happy with their welcome packs which included a fleece blanket each to use during their stay and a tennis ball. When we arrived there was a welcome pack for us of local products. Unfortunately I could not eat any of them as I am wheat intolerant, and my message re this obviously didn't get through to the owners. It was not a biggie, but my husband enjoyed them anyway.

We enjoyed our stay. The view is to die for. We caught Wales in its glory...sun, mist, rain and lots of lambs. The cabin is beautiful inside. Very well set out, with facilities to cover rainy days and extremely comfortable to lounge in. The true quality for us are telling in the small touches e.g providing an extra blanket for our pet & dinner and water bowl so we don't have to mess around with that. It is definitely a place to return to.
