Stunning farmhouse sleeps 10 in a beautiful rural location Hot Tub - Cinema Room and Pool Table

A great large family property but in need of some TLC in areas.

The White House suited our needs for the weekend whilst attending a local wedding. The location was great and the setting really relaxing. We were a family of 6 adults and a baby so having the 5 bedrooms worked well. It was nice to be able to sit outside in the evening.
However, points for consideration for future guest visits:-
We only had tepid water in the ensuite and house bathroom so not ideal
We did get a call saying the garden was overdue a lawn cut but it would have been nice to see this done prior to our arrival
The recycling bins were absolutely full of bottles prior to our arrival
There was no 'welcome pack' as we were told there would be
It would be nice to have better quality bedding

Thank you for your review. The owners are pleased to hear that The White House suited your family's needs for the wedding weekend, that the five bedrooms worked well for your group, and that you enjoyed the peaceful setting and outdoor seating. The owners are sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations and would like to clarify a few points for future guests. Regarding the hot water, the property uses both solar heating and a gas boiler. The boiler hot water is controlled via the Hive system, as explained in the house information pack, and is switched off between guest stays to avoid unnecessary energy use. As this was not activated during your stay, only the solar-heated water was available. The owners also provide guests with a direct contact number and encourage them to get in touch immediately if anything is not working as expected, as most issues can be resolved quickly during a stay. With regard to the garden, the owners contacted you before your arrival to explain that their regular gardener had unfortunately become seriously ill and was no longer able to maintain the grounds at very short notice. A replacement gardener had already been arranged but was unable to attend before your visit. While this was not ideal, the owners felt it was important to be open and let you know in advance. Regarding the recycling, one of the two recycling bins was full because the previous council collection had been missed after incorrectly sorted waste from earlier guests meant it could not be emptied. The second recycling bin was empty and available for use throughout your stay. The owners were also surprised by the comment regarding the welcome pack, as the laminated house information pack containing all the property instructions was left on the kitchen island for your arrival. Finally, the owners are sorry you were disappointed with the bedding. The property is fitted throughout with luxury 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton bed linen. Unfortunately, shortly before your stay, the master bedroom sheets had to be replaced after being damaged by a previous guest, and the new luxury replacements had not yet arrived. As a temporary measure, a standard spare set was used in that room only, and this has now been replaced. The owners appreciate your feedback and are pleased that, overall, the property provided a comfortable base for your family's wedding weekend.

We absolutely love the White House at Borden. After staying last year, we had such an amazing time that everyone immediately wanted to plan the next stay.
We loved the beautiful location, the pool table and the hot tub was well used!
The contact and support from host was impeccable too.
