Good instructions on how to find the lodge which was well equipped. Lovely location. Good welcome booklet with lots of useful information. Very comfy beds. The owner came to check we had everything and was very friendly. Definitely want to return to Cologin Lodges.

We had a very comfortable stay at Cologin and have already booked again!
The lodge is dog friendly and well equipped.
It is in a great location for walks from the doorstep and further exploring the Oban area.
There is the added convenience of the friendly Barn bar on site where we enjoyed a great breakfast and evening meal during our stay.
Happy to recommend.

As usual we had a lovely week, good weather, accommodation excellent, and a lot of visits to Ganavan Sands, young Skye loved her runs on the beach there, both my daughter and my dog had been really unwell the week before, so it was great for them to recuperate. Always love our stays at Cologin chalets,

We have been staying in Cologin twice a year for a few years now and always enjoy the peaceful location - being so near to Oban and with the Barn offering excellent food and hospitality. Each time we visit we can see the improvements made to the lodges.

We booked chalet at very short notice. Katie was very helpful. We loved the peace and quiet of the site and having The Barn and an EV charging point there were real bonuses. The position so close to Oban was super for visiting the wee islands around the area - we were on 7 islands in the week!

This is 100% best place to stay just 5 mins out oban quiet , walks on your door step dog friendly kid friendly a wee wooden park , the barn bar right on site lovely homemade food and a 2 min walk from beautiful situated chalets comfy everything you need and Katie the owner is so lovely the perfect getaway couple days or a week great base and not stupid Oban prices a lot more for your money Thankyou

Working at an international event in Oban, Cologin provided the perfect accommodation for us to escape from the town, b ut within very easy reach. Katie couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, and we expect to make a booking for 2026.

Our third visit, we love the peace and quiet at Cologin. It’s the right side of town for us to get to the dive centre, meaning we don’t have to run the gauntlet of Oban town centre at rush hour! Welcoming, helpful and friendly, we could not wish for more. And the Barn is an added boon, no driving to find somewhere to eat, it’s literally on your doorstep.

My husband & myself stayed for 8 nights at Cologin lodges. This was our 3rd visit here & we had a great holiday as we did on the 2 previous occasions. Our lodge was comfortable & equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Katie came to welcome us just after we arrived. The location is ideal for relaxing with lovely scenery & very peaceful. We hope to return soon.

Had a wonderful week at Cologin as usual, great lodges, friendly staff and my daughter, myself and Skye my young dog always , chill out there and spend time at Ganavan Sands so Skye gets to play and paddle. We are usually up to Oban at least twice a year. Love it, recommend it to everyone

The cabin was lovely and appreciated the upgrade. Food in the barn was amazing and staff were lovely and helpful. The cabin was nice albeit just a couple of small things. The bed was not very comfortable, the toilet wouldn’t flush very well on the last morning, the front door was quite sticky and the kitchen blind wouldn’t work. These little things didn’t faze us and wouldn’t stop us returning. Lovely place and very dog friendly. Lovely for a short break away. X

My daughter and I love coming up to Cologin to just enjoy chilling out with our dog Skye. Our accommodation is always spotless and comfortable with everything we need, and we know if it’s not they will sort it.
We enjoy going to Ganavan Sands with Skye so she can have a run and a paddle. We had a great week weather was good.
I would recommend this site to anyone, and will be back up again next year for sure

We stayed for 10 days at Cologin Lodges. The bungalows are situated in a idyllic valley surrounded by low hills; the views riding into the valley are breathtaking. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful. The chalet itself was very nice and clean upon our arrival and had all that we needed. We really felt at home and it served as a great base for exploring the Argyll and Butte peninsula. If we ever go back to that region, we would certainly prefer to stay at Cologin again.

No 5 is a bit smaller than some of the other lodges we've stayed in but we got used to it and it is very cosy and comfortable

The location is absolutely great. Had a nice dinner in the barn. Close to a large supermarkt and Oban. Lots of possibilities for walks in the neighbourhood. Went to Kerrera. But by far the greatest thing to do is an excursion to Staffa.

Lovely to get a few days away, to chill out. The peace and quiet was just what was needed. The views spectacular. Chalet is lovely and comfortable with everything you need. We spent a lot of our time during the day at the beach, at the other side of Oban so beautiful, and our dog Skye loved a play on the beach. There are toilets there which is great for me.

First visit to the Barn since the new owners took over. Nice and pleasant, personally I found the menu a bit lacking in the basic meals like fish and chips, sausage and mash macaroni and cheese,etc.

The chalet was spotlessly clean on arrival. We were notified on the day of our arrival the time we could access the property. Good communication.

As usual everything we needed was there for us when we arrived. The only thing that was out with our control was the weather but we had a lovely relaxing week, my daughter and my dog Skye. We spent a lot of time down at Ganavan Beach with Skye playing on the sand and in the water. We had fun at the chalet and walking round about, the views are beautiful, chalets lovely and comfortable. My daughter says the WiFi is a lot better now. The only downside was missing the Barn,but hopefully when we go back next year that will be open again.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Cologin. The location is very quiet and well away from noise and traffic. The lodges have been updated since we last stayed and are clean, comfortable and well appointed. The only downside was a faint smell of dog from previous users, despite requesting a non pet lodge. Also, the wifi is weak if you are dependant on ok it. Despite this, we would definitely stay again.

Positioned in Lerag Glen the lodges are a welcome retreat. Phone signal and internet is patchy so expect peace and quiet, birdsong and clear, starry skies, a highlight.
We stayed in a two bedroom lodge, beds were very comfortable with plenty storage space in the room. Shower room was newly modernised with a good walk in shower - always appreciated! Lounge and kitchen were well appointed and comfortable with room for our two labradors to stretch out !! Nice secure decking area with picnic bench made for relaxing in the glorious sunshine we were lucky to have. Peace and quiet in comfortable lodges while still only a short distance from Oban where lots of activities are on offer allow all ages to enjoy Cologin.

Barn Bar is open Wed to Sun serving drinks and meals. Outside tables can be enjoyed in good weather while inside the barn provides a friendly, cosy atmosphere to enjoy a meal. Menu is varied, we enjoyed local seafood dishes and steak pie, all of which were excellent. Friendly staff gave good service and were happy to advise on activities within the area. Nice to have a relaxing meal on site.

I was pleased when i walked in, the place was clean well aired and enough for our stay . i wouldn't call it homely but i think things had been moved too make cleaning the place easier. i was happy with my stay and having the barn there was the icing on the cake! This was our second time here but this time we had the two bedroom place which was plenty for us three .

Beautiful week spent at Cologin! Amazing scenery and so peaceful- you can’t hear anything but the neighbouring sheep! Lovely walk over the hill through a forest to the loch and close enough for a quick drive or bike ride into Oban for a mooch about and lovely food.

The barn bar is great as well with lovely food and staff.

Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

This was our 3rd stay at Cologin, so we knew what to expect. Ideally located to explore the surrounding area.
I was slightly disappointed at the interior of the cabin, whilst the bathroom had been upgraded the rest of the cabin felt ‘tired’ and in need of an upgrade too.
That said, we still had a lovely time and will be back in the future.

Fantastic location around 5/ 10 mins drive from centre of Oban but in the middle of rural countryside. All the cabins have their own decking ( although ours was missing it’s gate which would have been handy with the dogs) and the views are amazing. Beautiful walks from the cabins and the on-site Barn Restaurant was lovely. All super dog friendly with biscuits and water bowls for the dogs in the restaurant. My only “complaint” would be how early we had to leave ( 9.15 )which we did think was a bit too early to be honest

We had a fabulous stay here with our 4yr old grandson. The lodge was perfect. Fully furnished with everything you would need. Very spacious. Views are amazing and very peaceful. Everyone so helpful and friendly. A little play area for children which our grandson loved and met a few friends, came in very handy after a day out! Pub was shut due to covid so can't review there which we would have loved to visit. Our first time here and one we won't forget. Such a beautiful location. We felt so lucky to have found Cologin Lodges. We met a few people who were returning guests so that says it all really. Book! You will not be disappointed. We travelled from the UK and stayed in various hotels but Cologin beat them all. Fabulous holiday and a fabulous location. Thank you for our lovely stay with you.

The signs are very confusing as there is a large signpost for Cologin, but it is further along the road that you have to look out for a small sign saying Lerags. The only sign visible when I arrived was “The Barn” as the long grass was covering Cologin Lodges. The road to the lodges has quite large potholes in places.
The restaurant was just closing when I arrived on Sunday. It was not open on Monday and Tuesday and then due to a positive COVID case in the staff, the restaurant was not available during my stay.
Everything was very clean, but maintenance needs to be done to the lodges as wear and tear is showing and just gives the feeling of not being taken care of. The counter top in the kitchen was starting to curl up and the walls could do with a coat of paint. The wood on the terrace also needs to be maintained.
The wifi was only available early in the morning and even then was really slow. I had to use my data all the time I was there.
Apart from that the lodge was very cozy and the beds were really comfortable.

Had a great time, weather couldn’t have been better. The chalet was wow! What a difference you have made since last year. So clean and bright, and the shower room just the ticket, lovely big, big, shower ideal for me, not able to get in to baths. We stayed at Cologin for 5 nights while visiting our son. It was an absolute delight to be out in the Scottish Countryside after lockdown. The peace and tranquility was fantastic. The other guests were very friendly,it was almost as if normality had returned! We loved the local walks and Jim and Linda were very helpful telling us where to go. A wonderful few days away.

We enjoyed our holiday and the peace and quiet of Cologin was remarkable.

The worst part of the holiday was the single track, bumpy access road and the fact that you had to get in your car to go anywhere.

2 oldie couples stayed for 3 nights. We heated food we had brought with us on the first night, ate in the excellent on-site restaurant on the next and went out for dinner on the third. The location is a delight: a small number of cabins hidden away in the coastal hinterland, around "The Barn" - a superb gastro pub. The cabin suited us well: the kitchen decently equiped, though the fridge could have been a bit larger), recently and stylishly upgraded shower room, comfortable beds and sufficient storage. Overall, it suited us down to the ground. This isn't a gripe but we did feel that we might have been offered more of a sense of a host, a person about the place to greet us on arrival, to nod to while we were there, say good-bye to and thank when we left.

Stayed here last year and loved it so much, we returned for another week. We weren't disappointed. We were in lodge number 5 and it was lovely. The bathroom looks as though it has been recently updated. All lodges have there own balcony with either a picnic bench or table and chairs. Beautiful setting with a lovely restaurant and bar within a 100 metres.

A wonderful 'get away from it all' spot. The lodge was warm, large and well-appointed, on a peaceful site. Just down the road was Oban, with the usual town facilities. There's also so much outdoors-y things to do within a few miles of the site that you'll never be bored. The on site bar/restaurant was superb, and a major bonus.

The condition of the property was very disappointing and spoiled our stay. The property was very tired and dated and would benefit from a total upgrade.. The curtains were dirty. The roller blinds were very old and the bars on the blinds were rusty as was the pole holding up the breakfast bar. The windows casing on the outside could have been brushed down and cleaned. We couldn’t sit on the decking outside as it was dirty and need more than just sweeping. I tried to clean up the accommodation a bit and bought air freshner to freshen place up. I used the hoover but when I switched it in there was a foul smell coming from it so couldn’t use it.
On a positive note the bed was clean and comfortable and the scenery around the accommodation was breathtaking.
I’m sure with a little TLC this holiday home could be a lovely place to stay.

Excellent location for walkers and the Cologin chalets are situated close to Oban within easy reach for island hopping and boat trips. The chalets provide a quiet and peaceful bolt - holt to re- charge your batteries and relax. I hadn't slept through the night for some time but I did here! The beds are very cosy and I was out for the count every night. Although the chalets provide basic facilities they have everything you need for the stay. The staff are wonderful; helpful and willing to assist with whatever you need.

Three day break away in the nice quiet surroundings and nice scenery. Tap water was delicious we couldn’t get enough of it! It felt like a real treat ! You can walk up the steep hill through the farm field & into the woods to discover a beautiful loch ( finishing available).
The chalet number 5 does need a little bit of make over ie while cooking kitchen window wouldn’t open, cracked lighting, bath tub etc overall not bad still comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again. Dogs loved it too.

We selected Lerags Lodge as a last resort (no pun intended), as a result of all the lodgings in Oban being taken at the (very late) date I was making reservations. I was taking a road trip with two of my grown daughters, and our main objective in the area was the day trip with West Coast Tours out to Mull, Iona and Staffa. We could not have been happier with the accommodations. The location is less than 15 minutes outside of Oban, to the south, in beautiful rolling green hills. We agreed it was nice to stay outside the town; no chance of noise keeping us awake. The cabins are clean, comfortable and well-appointed with everything one would need for a short or long stay. There is a variety of cabins; we were fortunate to get one with two bedrooms. Our only regret is that we didn't get to hang out at the property and enjoy the setting more, as we arrived fairly late the first night, were on the tour all the next day, and left early the next morning. But we did get to enjoy The Barn (reviewed below) -- don't miss it!!

The Barn is wonderful!! Staffed with very friendly people, it is a bar and restaurant with a great vibe, and includes an enclosed porch area with a fireplace for those chill evenings. We enjoyed drinks our first night, arriving too late for dinner, and hurried back the next night so we could sample their dinner and more drinks. What a great experience! The Barn Bar makes the Lerags Lodge experience a 10!!

We all had a fantastic night on Hogmanay, band was excellent as was all the service. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Stayed from 31st until the 3rd and had a fabulous time and great food in the Barn Bar. We will definitely return to this site.

First time at Cologin enjoyed it and would return again . Paid full price for the two nights only to find other guests paid less than two nights and recd three nights .
If I go again I would want a deal and wouldn't be prepared to pay full price again .
The barn was excellent , staff were very nice , food was superb .

My wife and I booked a long weekend stay at cologin for a change from a hotel and can honestly say I would chose this accommodation over a hotel anytime. The lodge itself was a good size with two very comfy double bedrooms. All mod cons were there as well as sundry items you often forget about such as washing up liquid, cloths, towels, dish towels etc. The skies overhead on clear nights were a particular highlight for me. I cannot reccomend Cologin highly enough.....superb

Lovely setting, very clean and comfortable chalet. Really nice to be able to open French doors on to decking on a lovely morning and have breakfast sitting in the sun.
Staff very friendly and accommodating, we had to make a change to our booking and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

The location and comfort were certainly good, although the bathroom could use a facelift. For people who like to stay in a peacefull place, it's the right place. We enjoyed our stay and if it wouldn't so far away from home, we certainly would come more often and longer.

This was a short stay visit so the facility was mainly used as a base for sleeping accommodation as the majority of time was spent away from the site. We used the Barn for eating on our night of arrival and found the choice of food was good and the service was pleasant with the atmosphere within the Barn also enjoyable.

The weather whilst we were there was wet and the only problem was the access to the path leading up to the chalet was quite muddy but once on the paving slabs was ok.

Although the accommodation was clean in general terms the interior could do with a "freshen up" and a couple of minor repairs to windows.

Unlikely to return to the site in the future.

We have noted your comments re the muddy path to the lodge - unfortunately when cars park on the grass it does cause damage but we will look at extending the parking spot for this lodge to try to avoid this problem in the future - and I am sorry you had to contend with rain during your short break but I do hope you will give Cologin another visit in better weather.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom lodge in February and had a great time. The lodges are quite spacious with a large open plan living room/ kitchen/ dining room. Our lodge had decking out the front although the weather meant we did not get any use of it.
Electricity is paid for on departure and cost us about £4 a day which I thought was reasonable considering we had the heating on most of the time.
We had a delicious dinner in The Barn which I would recommend to all visitors (only open Fri and Sat in winter).
My only concern was that the lodges might be hard to access in snowy conditions as the single lane road leading to them is quite narrow and exposed although they are only perhaps a mile from a main road.

There is so much space for the kids to run and play on bikes scooters etc. My only issue was the owner was very abrupt with us at 10.20am for mistakingly thinking check out was 11. We were all packed and ready to go just putting jackets on when she marched into our lodge! A little flexability would definitely go a long way

We (family of 4 plus dog) really enjoyed our stay in October for 2 nights . Beautiful area and very friendly efficient staff great that dogs are welcome. Lodge was good value only slight criticism beds too firm for me. Would go back as we love Oban and if there's entertainment in high season that would be an added attraction.

Our first visit to Scotland, the relaxed atmosphere at Cologin made it a memorable one. Accomodation was in a perfect location near Oban. Great food & drink at the Barn.

We stayed in a 2 bedroomed lodge with our two teenage kids. Plenty big enough. The lodge was clean but a little 'tired'. Bathroom would benefit from a makeover, although kitchen/cooking facilities were good.
Ate in the Barn one night and also had takeaway. Both good- quick service, pleasant staff and decent food.
We had to change our plans last minute through illness, Linda was extremely understanding and accommodated us well. Very impressed. Would recommend for families and also for good value accommodation near Oban.

We enjoyed our stay very much. A very relaxing few days and meals at the Barn were delicious with very friendly staff. Location was excellent being about 10 mins in the car from Oban.

We stayed at one of the Inner Hebridean Lodges and had an Outer Hebridean Lodge as well, for the rest of the family. Peaceful at night, enjoyed 2 meals at the Barn.

As always this was just the holiday break that we were looking for, Cologin is a super place
to come and recharge your batteries.
The staff as always were very helpful and very friendly and, as usual the Barn came up
to expectations. The food and the presentation of the food was as always brilliant.

We made a last minute decision to book accommodation, and were delighted that we chose Cologin Chalets.

We ended up extending our stay by an extra night as we were having such a fantastic and relaxing stay - the location is idyllic and a meal and one or two() drinks in The Barn is a must - the quality of food and service were excellent and we will definitely be back soon.

I stayed here with my wife for 2 nights as we needed to be in the Oban area for the weekend. The chalet was very comfortable and roomy and most importantly it was clean. We enjoyed having the facility of the Barn Bar which has a nice pubby atmosphere. The chalets are beautifully located In a quiet picturesque glen yet Oban is only about 4 miles away.

Didnt meet any staff so hard to review this. Lovely safe picture perfect location. Barn bar wasnt open but would love to return to try it out. Directions to surrounding walks would have been thoughtful, sign posts were few and far between. Lovely break for my dads 71st birthday.

This is our second stay at Cologin - a lovely peaceful location. We did not eat at the Barn this time but had very tasty meals during our previous visit. Excellent for dog walks up the hill and into the forest behind the chalets. Electric heating which kept the chalet lovely and warm on a cold wet evening. Good Sky television reception for evening entertainment. This visit I found the staff most caring and helpful so can highly recommend a stay at this location. Certainly hope to return myself in the summer as Oban and surrounding area is a most attractive location with excellent sea food restaurants.
