Where do I start ??? this house is amazing and absolutely huge. It is everything you need for big group gatherings of friends or family. We had the most special time surprising our friend for his 50th birthday. There is nothing more we could have wished for the house as everything you need and the cinema room was fantastic and an added bonus of fun along with the hot tub. We had a great stay as a family celebrating a big birthday, plenty of room, well equipped thought of everything and a lovely touch with named dog bowls. We would definitely stay again and would recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay.

This was our 3rd stay at No 1...we had the best time, the house is fantastic, whether you're looking for a chill in the hot tub or a movie in the cinema, it really does have everything you need and more. It was lovely and warm and beautifully decorated for christmas ..we're already booked again for 2026, looking forward to it already ❤️
Alice Howe was a beautiful home for our stay to celebrate our daughter’s 30th birthday. The weekend before Christmas was difficult to book a house for so many people but this was a fantastic place to stay. The location was perfect, very well equipped house with everything you could need for a stay. The cinema room was a hit with everyone as was the hot tub and having a beautiful Christmas tree was a lovely touch a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back
We had a wonderful family New Year’s break at Orrest Head House and could not recommend it highly enough. The property is ideal for a group stay, with ample off-road parking and plenty of space to relax and enjoy time together. The location is a real highlight. Although the house feels wonderfully secluded and peaceful, it is only around five minutes from the hustle and bustle of Windermere. Our party of 12 very much enjoyed their stay in this lovely old house. It would have been a squeeze for original group of 14 though. Cleanliness good superficially, but significant amounts of thick dust and cobwebs in the less obvious areas, and strong dog smell in the living room. Loved the hot tub and cinema. Hosts very communicative and booking all ran smoothly. Great base for walking, buses and shops. Would definitely recommend.
