The Retreat was a brilliant idea for a few days to spend and recharge the batteries. Stunning sunrise view, peace and quiet around. The hut offers everything you may need (literally). I am sure I will be back soon.

This cabin has a wonderful view in rural surroundings. Sue made us very welcome including cake and icecream on arrival.
The cabin is tiny but comfortable and has a modern design.

The perfect spot to relax and unwind with lovely views across the bay and amazing dark skies at night. The area is great for cycling with quiet roads and scenic routes. The Retreataway is warm and cosy and has everything for a comfortable stay, enhanced by Sue's warm welcome & of course her delicious cake.

Perfect retreat for a short break if you like peace and quiet. Owners on hand if needs be, but not 'in your face'. Close enough to local amenities, but not too close if you like to get away. Lovely countryside for cycling and walking. Well equipped accommodation for a short break, would need to buy extra basics (loo roll/washing up liquid etc) if staying longer, but all in all a wonderful stay.

Compact and bijoux - thats just how we like to describe it too! The Retreataway is just set up for short breaks, as a self catering accommodation and we provide starter welcome refreshment pack, and cleaning pack, and with some toiletries, the rest is up to you. We make our welcome cake and leave Cream o Galloway ice cream so you can kick back and relax on our two Ekorness stressless recliner chairs, no expense spared for your comfort....... We are pleased our guests enjoyed their stay and explored the area.

We stayed with our dog for 2 nights, enjoying the sea view and peace and quiet of the location. Deer were regular visitors to the lawn, along with a variety of birds.
The bed was comfortable and the Retreataway was very clean, with underfloor heating for cosiness.
Sue is friendly and an excellent cake maker. We would definitely stay here again.

We'd previously visited Ross Bay Retreats and knew that everything would be 'spot on' and it was! Retreataway had wonderful views through the double patio doors and like our last visit we were warmly welcomed by Sue who also had popped a tub of Cream of Galloway ice cream in the freeezer and a fresh cream cake in the fridge - whats not to like

Me and my partner stayed for 4 nights at the retreat away. It was very clean and sue and her husband are so friendly! The chocolate cake and ice cream was a much welcomed treat after a long drive up there! The location is gorgeous and we were able to go on a few walks as we got really lucky with the weather. It's a shame there was no service or WiFi as we were unable to use a satnav to help us find places to go, such as shops etc until we were actually in Kirkcudbright. There is a booklet with information in about where to go and people to contact in emergencies which was really helpful. However as we aren't locals we were reliant on Google maps to help find our way around.

Thank you for this great review for the Retreataway. Part of the pleasure of the Retreataway is to get away from it all. The mobile signal is patchy down here at Ross Bay and 4G is available at the Retreataway. Our guests can often login to our house WIFI when it is available to them but sometimes life can be good without technology!!
