We have stayed at the Old Cheese Loft several times, and this year we had a week at Helmsley Hideaway as well. Both the properties are excellent - beautifully decorated, well equipped and clean, and in lovely locations. It is not easy to find nice properties to take dogs, but Sue's properties are kitted out well for furry family members. It is a recommendation in itself when I say we have booked both properties again next year.
Byre by the Sea on Ross Bay was perfect for a much needed get away from city life. Uninterrupted views of the shoreline with its bird life and wild flowers, the sound of silence, and the tides rolling in and out over the salt marshes each day. The cottage is a brand new conversion on Ross Bay Farm, it only opened to bookings in July 2019, so it is well equipped and everything is in good working order. It is also extremely spacious. I can not fault the cottage in any way, sitting back in the recliner looking out through the patio doors and the balcony over Ross bay who needs a tv.
Its warm comfortable and quiet plenty of walking on hand would recommend it yo everyone
What a great property to stay on holiday. My partner and I took our grandkids, 8 & 6 plus small dog. Perfect house and huge big garden which the kids and dog adored.
There is so much to see and do in the surrounding areas that we were always on the go. Harome itself is beautiful but very, very quiet. So much so, I was acutely aware if the kids or dog made a lot of noise in case it upset the neighbours.
We'd hoped to walk the nearly 3 miles to Helmsley now and again and not need to take the car every time we wanted to go out however the 2 mile road to the main road felt too risky as there w...more
