Lovely house we’d been hoping to stay at some point for decades. Brought the whole family (4months to 72), felt spacious and perfectly suited for all ages. We had lovely warm, sunny weather for the week and enjoyed walking the beaches and swimming in the sea. The warm and well equipped boot room was so useful with kids running in and out with direct access to the beach; the kitchen has the best window for relaxing and enjoy the view, best feature of a house I’ve ever stayed in!! Incredible sunsets. Would love to return again. Can’t recommend highly enough, worth the drive from London.
If you are looking for a compact coastal bolt-hole in the Far North for a few days of walking, reading or photography, there can be few better locations than Balnakeil Beach Bothy. Turn off the news and unwind to the sound of the ocean surf crashing on to one of Scotland’s finest beaches. This wee cottage is well equipped and comfortable and the electric heating in the two main rooms is very effective, even in January. This is a place that is very hard to leave.
Very comfortable cottage on a friendly working farm. Lovely area for walking and swimming. The only thing lacking was a small mirror in the bedroom.
