As a Mackay, with a big birthday on the horizon, I couldn't think of a better place to celebrate than at Balnakeil House! Getting my mostly sassenach chums up there was part of the challenge, but 17 of us made it and wow... It was so worth it! The house was fabulous, the location stunning and the weather was kind, including several jaw-dropping sunsets! We made use of the whole house including the dining room with it's excellent dumb waiter - great fun! ...the sitting room for a wee dram by the fire, the games room for a talk on the stars and the universe and the wonderful kitchen for most...more
A lovely location with lots of walks from the door and if golf is your thing this too is only a couple of minutes walk away. The beach is immaculate and most evenings we had it all to ourselves. The bothy is quite charming and well equipped. On the downside, the bathroom window and front door require draft proofing before the winter months.
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful bothy which has a perfectly equipped kitchen! We loved staying here!
