Spread across the beautiful 22-acre estate and tucked amongst the trees, our cabins are the perfect escape for those of you who want to step back from the intensity of life and unplug. Designed for maximum comfort and relaxation, four of our cabins have their own en-suite bathrooms, with Roost and Gaggle using our shared garden washhouse. All come with a sumptuous double bed with luxury linens.

4th trip so clearly love this place.
Mattresses are uncomfortable
The cafe space should be open for people to eat & take shelter in from the weather (regardless of whether west Lexham are putting on food)

When I visited in February, the serene surroundings and charming character of West Lexham led me to booking another stay, but this time with my mother.

We had a lovely time, swimming in the lake and outdoor pool, visiting the surrounding coastal areas/towns, enjoying the delicious meals provided in the cafe and taking a step back from the hustle and bustle of London.

The area is delightful, the accommodation and facilities are great value for money and the people who work there are helpful and engaging!

Will definitely be back for a third time!

Lovely quiet stay, beautiful grounds and wild swimming was the icing on the cake.

One small issue as the Cafe was closed during our stay but we were told that there would be an outdoor kitchen instead.
The outdoor kitchen was a bit rough and ready and didn’t have a the microwave as listed in the FAQs section as we were planning to use this for our breakfast porridge !

Lovely BBQs and fire pits ready to use
Overall a great place to stay.

We stayed last year and came back this year. We had an amazing time! We love the cabin, the people, the things to do and the grounds. The pool was freezing but we still went in. If you’ve not stayed before then definitely go!

Really enjoyed our stay at West Lexham, the grounds and gardens were pretty and interesting to explore, plus we were able to go for runs and walks in the wider countryside. The pool was peaceful and relaxing, nice to swim without chlorine.

The cabin was clean, cute and well positioned.

Overall we left feeling recharged - thank you.

I booked myself a night in the Butterbur cabin as a treat and it was just that. Had such a lovely stay all round. Great cabin, grounds (where I took a rowing boat along the lake and had a swim), and had a delicious meal at The Stag Inn. I recommend this stay to anyone and will be booking again! We have just returned from a two night stay at West Lexham. We stayed in Butterbur cabin which was located right in front of the water which was amazing. The cabin was perfect and super clean. It had a lovely bathroom with a great shower. We had fab walks around the grounds which were stunning and spent a lot of time in the pool as the weather was gorgeous. There are rowing boats and paddle boards which are free to use, we had a go at both of these. Staff were welcoming and friendly and Peter was quick to respond to any messages. We would highly recommend West Lexham and have already to friends. Will definitely return, thank you for a fantastic break.

Only stayed for 2 nights but felt like a weeks break. It's not the place if you want constant entertainment or activities every day. However a stroll around the vast gardens, a row on the lake is definitely recommended for them that want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life.
Freshly cooked food by Julia is a must, using ingredients from the kitchen garden.

I really enjoyed my stay at West Lexham. The cabin was warm, roomy and comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful.

Food was amazing, the fresh fruit and vegetables really make a difference to even simple meals. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

The outdoor pool was a bit cold as the heating wasn't fully on due to it being shoulder season but I kept moving and it was a good swim.

I loved waking up to birdsong and seeing butterflies, beetles and dragonflies in the grounds.

My only small point of feedback was that there wasn't any milk provided with the tea and coffee so I had to nip out and get some. But I can live with that!

Beautiful and cosy cabin with a beautiful view. Perfect romantic getaway. So peaceful and restful. Had fun rowing on the lake and walking the grounds. Would have been nice if the library was available but other than that would definitely visit again.

The lodge was beautiful! It was located away from the other accommodation with a stunning lake view. The cabin was well comfortable with a very well appointed en-suite. The grounds are perfect for exploring, with both a lake and swimming pool to swim in. The garden kitchen was well equipped - we thought it was perfect for cooking in.

The cabins were lovely and quiet.
It would be great to have larger beds, as this size for 2 people is rather small.
The cabins were very clean except for under the beds which could have used a little more attention.
Perhaps hair dryers would be a nice addition too

We were so happy with our cabin, tucked away from everything else, we felt like it was just us and the swans! We were very happy with the whole stay at West Lexham, even though it was off season so there wasn't much open on site, we were well looked after by the staff and very comfortable in our lovely little cabin. Just what we needed!

We visited West Lexham for 2 nights in October to celebrate a birthday. It was peaceful and tranquil, it really was such a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and approachable and nothing was ever too much trouble. We stayed in the Butterbur cabin which was perfect for all our needs, clean and quiet with outdoor seating on the lake. Totally dog friendly place, our little Frenchie adored it. We will definitely be returning, thank you so much West Lexham team!

A lovely environment for a ‘get away from it all’ escape!
Our cabin was en-suite by the lake away from the other bell tents and cabins over looking the lake (which was why we booked it). Heating was good for evenings as it was starting to cool down and torch was useful as it was dark coming back from the cafe.
We were booked in on a day retreat on the Saturday so decided to stay for the weekend (we’d been before and wanted to stay in a cabin)
There were to retreats going on at the weekend we didn’t really notice them at all.

The cafe was open but only until 7pm (the retreats got fed at 7pm), we ordered before 7 but stayed in there until 8ish which was nice. On the first night we ate in the cafe - lovely pizzas and salad for a very reasonable price. On the Saturday I bought homemade veggie chilli, rice and guacamole and used the communal fridge to store food /drink in and used the induction hob & microwave in the communal kitchen to heat up (crockery, pots, utensils were provided) there are gas bbqs also for you to use. You need to be organised if you want to used these facilities.

It's lovely. The cabin, the grounds, the staff - all superb. A couple of niggles are that in the cabin we stayed in the bathroom light was motion sensored and on a timer- this meant firstly, it came on if one of us got up in the night which woke my husband and secondly it's only on for 10 seconds so you have to swing your arms about doing everything from having a wee to brushing your teeth - a bit longer on the timer is needed and ideally a way of turning light off altogether (but this may not be possible)
The other thing was the food. It used to be entirely self catering and the facilities were good. Now the facilities for self catering are not good in my opinion and it's neither fully catered nor self-catering which was a shame. I'm sure there are plans for this and it wouldn't put me off booking again as what West Lexham does well - it does so exceptionally. We feel blessed to be able to explore the grounds and it really feels like Swallows and Amazons here.

We have just returned from a two day break at West Lexham.
We stayed in the butterbur cabin and we had the most beautiful experience there.
Perfect location - perfect grounds - private secluded setting, the list goes on.

The hospitality of the staff was fabulous and we felt well looked after.
The pizzas were amazing!
The cabin and surroundings afforded us the quiet, peaceful break we had been looking for.
The only negative comment we had was that the sensor lights in the bathroom caused some issues as they turned off too quickly and it was hard to get them back on when showering or on the loo but apart from that it was an lovely experience.

We had an amazing stay. Me my partner and my little boy. We chose the more secluded cabin and saw the lake from our door. The staff were all so friendly and so so helpful. The cafe staff went above and behind to help and make us feel special. Everything was so so clean. We loved the rowing boats, walking the grounds and the swimming pool too. The garden games were a hit too. Our son got upset when we left because he loved it.
