The Old Cottage is a charming holiday home tucked away in a quiet road yet just a short stroll into the buzzing town of Deal and the lovely wide, open promenade and beach front.

The hidden secret of this lovely cottage is the roof terrace which is accessed either via a spiral staircase from the courtyard or from the main bedroom. Perfect for morning coffee, afternoon tea, early evening drinks and al fresco suppers. The cottage has a sociable open plan ground floor, and upstairs are two bedrooms.

The coastal towns of Walmer and Kingsdown are an easy walk, and in the other direction the historic town of Sandwich is well worth a visit.

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Ten minutes walk to station and five minutes to the beach.

Well maintained, nice living and kitchen space, with separate utility area.

A small, pretty cottage quite near the beach in the southern part of Deal. Good points were comfortable beds and furnishings and a very nice shower room and toilet. A useful roof terrace as there was no other outdoor space to sit in.
Less good points were the lack of parking nearby - Deal is full of ‘no parking’ signs everywhere. This was quite a problem for us as walking any distance is an issue for my husband. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but there was no teapot and no cafetière. The interior is quite dark as the internal shutters and low ceiling excluded light. There’s only one toilet which is part of the shower room downstairs - a problem for those who need to visit in the night. Lastly, the television did not have a terrestrial option and we had to watch the main channels via a streaming service which was difficult to manipulate.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage very much. The location is perfect. Shops, restaurants, pubs, seaside - everything is in walking distance.
The interior of the cottage is bright and tasteful. The roof terrace is absolutely great.
