Upon arrival the staff are very welcoming, very quick check in. Small welcome hamper in the lodge is a nice touch.The lodge itself is clean but very compact. It has three bathrooms but only one has a shower that you can actually stand up in and have the shower above your head, really lacking in headroom, both the upstairs toilets are also lacking in headroom and all the bathroom sinks are unusable as there are glass shelves placed above them and you hit your head on them while trying to wash. I had to use the kitchen sink to wash in a morning. The bed was uncomfortable as the mattress is very poor, it has a mattress topper on but you can still feel the springs through it. The lodge isn’t very well insulated against noise inside or out, you can hear every noise from every room all the time including noises from the bathroom! Creaky doors and floors are not good when others are in bed. The hand rail on the stairs is unusable on the top half as it is touching the wall and you can’t hold on to it, this was a big problem for me due to mobility issues. WiFi is quite slow. The kids loved the hot tub, always very hot, nice location, and as mentioned before the staff are excellent. Overall a nice break with the family but for the price I would expect it to be perfect. Sorry for the negative feedback but if they don’t know, they can’t fix it.
